Quick Update – I’m a Finalist in the*gameHERs Awards

Hey Hey Blerdy Tribe! These last few months have been kind of crazy on my end, but in a good way! I’ve been getting my Twitch channel off the ground and I recently started a Discord server to connect with folks away from this site and Twitch–which means content here on Blerdy Otome has been kinda sporadic. I’m slowly finding a good rhythm for everything so I should be back on track next week-ish.

But, today I wanted to share some exciting news with you all! If you follow my socials you probably already know, but around the end of August I found out I was nominated for one of the*GameHERs Awards.

Blerdy Otome Has a Discord!

So, after dragging my feet about it, I broke down and created a discord channel for my blog and for Twitch! I figured it would be a fun idea to connect with folks outside of streams and the blog. Nothing fancy, just a chill space for chill vibes and fun chats! It’s kind of an extension of my Twitch channel, since we tend to have a lot of good discussions that get cut off because I refuse to do a 10 hour stream.

If you’re interested in hanging out on the server, here’s the link: https://discord.gg/XnnQSMfc64

Lover Pretend

Tentative Release: 12/2022

Chiyuki lives alone, spending all her time studying for university and doing part-time work. She has two dreams in life: to become a scriptwriter—also a dream of her late mother—and to find her father whom she never met. From clues left behind, it seems her mother was writing a drama script before she was born. Chiyuki lands a job as an assistant to a scriptwriter for a film that the sons of the drama staff are making. She searches for information while working her new job, but in a twist of events ends up cast in the role of their love interest…? This is a pretend love role, not true love. Can Chiyuki create a script about fake lovers, while not knowing anything about falling in love herself?

I Started Streaming on Twitch!

Hey there Blerdy Tribe! At the start of the year I said I wanted to dip my toes into the world of streaming on Twitch, but my old laptop wasn’t really up to snuff, so I had to put a pin in that until I got my new rig. But, when I got the new laptop I kept waffling back and forth on starting, because let’s face it I get super nervous speaking in front of people and two I’m a Virgo so I tend to want things to be perfect from the start… and let’s face it when are things perfect the first time around?

So when the lovely folks at Lunaris Games gave me an advanced copy of the first 2 chapters of their supernatural mystery visual novel When the Night Comes ReVamp I figured this was the perfect opportunity to take the plunge! So I did on a Thursday at a weird time with no warning, so I couldn’t back out of it.

I had loads of fun and everyone was super nice and we even had some folks from Lunaris Games in the chat to give some behind the scenes sneak peaks! Of course there were some technical difficulties (like me forgetting to save the broadcast on Twitch), but it was a learning experience and I had a lot of fun! Thankfully I recorded the whole thing and was able to upload it to YouTube… so if you missed out on the stream you can check it out!

I hope to do more streams in the future (I just have to work out schedules and things), but if you wanna get a notification when I do go live, be sure to subscribe to my twitch channel: www.twitch.tv/blerdyotome! Also if you also have a Twitch account drop your deets in the comments so I can give you a follow!

Watching Anime Leave a Message at the….

Hey Blerdy Tribe, so I’m kinda sorta on a My Hero Academia binge and I’m so hyped up on all the Plus Ultra vibes that I haven’t actually played any games. So, I’m gonna take the rest of the week to just wrap myself in the warm embrace of anime and my ever growing TBR!

So I’ll be taking a bit of a break–no new posts until Monday May 10th! But, I’ll still keep boosting the giveaway on my socials and if you wanna chat just drop me a line! I’ll see you guys next week!

Announcing A New Collaboration Project – Otome Fans React!!

Hey Hey Guys and Gals, I just wanted to write up a short announcement post about an upcoming project that I am super excited about and I’m finally ready to talk about it officially. I mentioned in my 2020 resolution post that I had two upcoming projects in the works and while the Otome Debates posts are still in the brainstorming phase. However, I’ve been working on another “super secret” project and after talking with my fellow collaborators, we’re ready for the big reveal!! You may even remember seeing my super vague tweet a little while ago, saying that I was working with five individuals— Tomey from Otome Sweetheart, Hazel from Archi-Anime, Voca from Otome Heaven, and Ruby and Pseudofaux from the Otomates Podcast on an “exciting project”…

Secrets Below

Taisho x Alice Rises from the Ashes with NEW Steam Release!!

Most of you probably already heard the news, but Taisho x Alice is getting a NEW Steam realease!!

We all remember the E2 Gaming Tragedy of 2017 that produced the delightfully terrible English language release of Primula’s Taisho x Alice. There were a lot of signs that the initial E2 Gaming English release was going to be a shits how, as the “company” had been very lax with marketing and responding to fans on social media. However, even that couldn’t prepare us for the actual release, which was marred by it’s dismal translation and laughable voice acting! Many were outraged by this seeming disregard for quality, and the game became something of a meme, with otome fans adding “Hirigana” and “Katakana” to their twitter handles in mocking tribute to the game’s most memorable translation choices.

*Check out a more detailed account of the 2017 Taisho x Alice Localization over at Figuratively Speaking

But, it seems that 2019 has brought Taisho x Alice back for a second go of things, this time the localization is being handled by Primula’s parent company, Pencil and from what I’ve seen of the Steam page and Twitter, this appears to be a legitimate release. Taisho x Alice has a Steam release date set for November 28, 2019.  The game will feature full Japanese voice acting, and subtitles in Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese.
