Hey Blerdy Tribe! It’s the end of yet another month, so it’s time for the Blerdy Otome Monthly Recap! It’s already November?! Where the hell did 2021 go?!
The month of October was definitely hectic on my end, but there were some awesome things that happened too! I made it as a finalist in TheGameHers Award for Top Journalist of the Year and I am still blown away that I made it to the top 5 alongside phenomenal content creators from sites like Game Informer and Kotaku. To even have Blerdy Otome in the same sentence as such huge gaming sites is something I never imagined was possible when I started this site back in 2015. I’ve come so far since my Nice Job Breaking It, Hero days and the sky’s the limit so I can’t wait to see where the future takes me!
As always there’s a lot more on the horizon in November, but before we dive into the new month, let’s take a look back at the month of October here at Blerdy Otome!

Reviews To Expect in October
I usually just go with the flow when it comes to content here on Blerdy Otome, so it’s kind of hard to pin down what to expect each month. I want to get better at sticking to a “schedule” so I thought it would be good practice to include a section with some of the reviews I plan to write during the upcoming month. Not only will this hold me accountable, but it will also give you all an idea of what to expect to see in the month ahead. Full disclosure, this is not a complete list and there’s a good chance things will change—this is more of a rough draft…
- Eh, clearly having a plan doesn’t work. Let’s just go with the flow and see what I can get through this month.

Shoujos with male protagonist – KS Blog (Eggsandwich04)
I will admit that it’s been awhile since I really got into a shoujo series (I blame otome games), but I still have fond memories of reading a few titles like Ouran Highschool Host Club and Hot Gimmick back in the day. So when I saw Eggsandwich’s post on shoujo series I had to give it a look see. In this post they spotlight some of their favorite shoujo series with male protagonists–you read that right! Instead of young maidens on romantic journeys these series follow cute boys taking center stage in these fun shoujo reads!
Thank You for Your Support!!
A lot of what I do here on Blerdy Otome is because of the support of all of you amazing readers–whether it’s your encouraging words on Twitter, liking a post or just sharing my posts with others, you guys are the real MVPS ! It’s no secret that buying games and manga for reviews puts a strain on my wallet and while I love what I do, a little extra help goes a long way!
This month I was able to pay my WordPress hosting fees with the help of my Ko-fi donations! I say this all the time, but you dear readers are the real MVPs here. Because of YOU I was able to keep things running here on Blerdy Otome for another year. Thank you for being so super special awesome!
Thank you for including my yandere list!! and Congrats on being a finalist in the GameHERs awards!! It shows that otome games are just as in-demand as other more ‘mainstream’ games.
I always love seeing other people’s yandere lists, the shared trau–love…
Thank you! It is super cool to have made it so far in the awards and regardless of the results it was fun being included with so many talented people
Thanks for the shout-out! ❤
Of course! I really enjoyed your mini reviews!
Thanks for the shout-out!! I’m still a sucker for OHSHC, one of the best Shoujo mangas I’ve read.
