5 Games Like 7'scarlet | Blerdy Otome

Hey Hey Blerdy Tribe, it’s time once again for another Games Like post—the blog series where you guys vote on the otome game and I go out and find five games that are similar to them. Last time I wrote a list of 5 Games Like Cafe Enchante , so definitely check that post out if you have the chance, there are a LOT of great games to discover! For today’s post, I ran a poll over on Twitter and 99 of you guys voted for 7’scarlet!

For those of you unfamiliar with the game—7’scarlet is a mystery romance otome game developed by Otomate and Toybox Inc. It was originally released in Japan in 2016 for the Playstation Vita. In 2018, the game was released internationally by Aksys Games. It was one of three otome games to be released as part of the Aksys Games, ‘Summer of Mystery’ alongside, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly and Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk.

Take on the role of Ichiko Hanamaki, as she journeys into the unknown to uncover dangerous truth surrounding the disappearance of her older brother. Her investigation takes her to the remote crescent moon shaped town of Okune-zato, a place shrouded in dark myths and legends. She and her childhood friend Hino arrive in town hoping to find clues about his disappearance only to find themselves caught in caught up in a dangerous murder mystery.

So for those of you that are looking for more games with a mystery vibe to them, here are FIVE games like 7’scarlet.

Dangerous Fellows – Lucy Dreams

Dangerous Fellows is a free to play mobile dating sim developed by Korean publisher, Lucy Dream. Set in South Korea not long after a zombie apocalypse, you take on a young woman desperately trying to survive. During a routine food run she attracts the attention of zombie horde–death seems almost certain for our unlucky heroine, when she is saved by a group of handsome survivors. They invite her to stay with them at a nearby school where they have taken up residence. There she meets the rest of their group some of whom aren’t too happy to have a stranger in their midst. Soon strange incidents start happening and it becomes clear that the survivors have more than just zombies to fear…

Literal zombies are out to get you and the rest of the survivors

X-Note – Zeiva Inc.

X-Note is a mystery adventure indie visual novel developed by Zevia Inc. and the team’s second commercial release. Ten years ago, Essi’s mother died in a questionable accident. She left a USB flash drive with a locked folder called “X-note”. Unable to understand the purpose of it, Essi continued living her life as a normal junior high school student. However, Essi is hardly normal, for she possesses power beyond normal human. Essi’s quiet life was interrupted by the appearance of a young man named Yuon. He invites her to investigate a murder case and a mysterious disappearance at Xen Institute, a school that had a deep relation with Essi’s mother. Tempted by the possibility of unlocking “X-note” and solving her mother’s mysterious death, Essi decided to take his request. But what awaits her there is much more than what she could possibly imagine…

Scarlet Hollow- Black Tabby Games

Project Kat – Leef 6010

Project Kat is a horror RPG developed by Leef 6010. In the game you play as Kat a high school girl who is into the occult. One night, she decides to perform a ritual at her school that enters her and her friends into a deadly game with the unknown. Your goal is to uncover the secrets of the game and make sure everyone comes out in one piece. Solve puzzles and uncover the truth behind the strange goings on around you… or die trying.

Persona 4 Golden – Atlus

Persona 4 Golden is an adventure RPG developed by Atlus and the fifth (chronologically) game in the Persona series. Set in the quiet rural town of Inaba, Persona 4 Golden is a coming of age story that follows the protagonist and his group of friends as they are drawn into the mystery surrounding a series of serial murders. Explore meeting kindred spirits, feelings of belonging, and even confronting the darker sides of one’s self.

I’m a huge mystery fan, so it was fun looking up games for this list! With its immersive storytelling and intriguing mystery plotline, 7’scarlet is one of my favorite otome games. Each of the games on this list embody a bit of the mysterious allure that made the game so much fun for me and many fans. Hopefully you all will be able to find a game among the above list that will ignite your inner super sleuth!
