5 Reasons You Should Play Lover Pretend

The release of Lover Pretend is right around the corner and if you’re looking for a cute, lighthearted otome game, you are definitely going to want to give this a go! Aspiring scriptwriter, Chiyuki dreams of breaking into the industry and one day finding her father. When she lands a job as an assistant on the set of a major film she takes one step closer to realizing her personal and career aspirations. As she searches for information about her father a twist of fate has her crossing paths with four men who may have the answers she need. And through a twist of fate she finds herself entangled in a pretend relationship with one of them?! This is a pretend love role, not true love. Can Chiyuki create a script about fake lovers, while not knowing anything about falling in love herself?

5 Reasons You Should Play Paradigm Paradox

We are two weeks out from the release of Otomate’s sci-fi otome game, Paradigm Paradox! I know it has pretty mixed views from otome gamers, but you have to admit it has a pretty interesting premise. The heroine, Yuuki is recruited to join a magical girl superhero group and fight against monsters called Vectors. Only, her cute teammates are actually the school hotties?! Kind of a what if I could date the Sailor Stars situation.

Thanks to our friends at Aksys Games I was able to play Paradigm Paradox and there is a lot to love about the game. So, for those of you still on the fence, here are 5 reasons I think Paradigm Paradox is worth picking up on October 27th!

Games You Should Know About From The Game Devs of Color Expo 2022

From September 15-18 the 7th annual Game Devs of Color Expo took place, featuring panels, talks, and game showcases featuring creators of color in the gaming industry. This weekend long event was created to uplift and amplify the voices of diverse creators while also giving them a chance to connect with other creators.

As part of the conference GDoC Expo hosts, Gradient Convergent, an event that showcases games and demos from diverse creators. Of course I needed to check it out and I was impressed by the titles included in the event. I absolutely encourage you to check out the full list when you have the chance! But, for now here are some of the games that caught my eye!

Nanoreno 2022 Games You Should Play

Hey Blerdy Tribe, NaNoRenO 2022 has come and gone and this year there were a total of 185 submissions! For those of you not familiar with NaNoRenO, its an annual month-long game jam held from early March to early April, in which developers are challenged to make a visual novel from start to finish. Each year newbie and veteran devs alike put their skills to the test to create their own unique projects–and over the years I have seen some phenomenal games come out of the jam! There are a ton of phenomenal games to play, and I definitely recommend searching through them all when you have the chance–but for today’s post I’ve compiled a list of the games that caught my eye from among the NaNoRenO 2022 submissions!

10 BL Manga Series You Should Be Reading

If you’ve been following my socials, you already know that after gaming my biggest obsession is manga, specifically BL manga. My Instagram is pretty much just pictures of all the manga I buy, and at last count I own over 550 volumes of manga, with about half of them being boys love titles. So I figured, I should make use of my obsession by curating a list of BL manga titles I think you should be reading!

All of these titles are available in English, either digitally or in print–no non-licensed titles–and are among some of my favorites.

The Nintendo Switch has become the definitive otome hub after the “death” of the PS Vita. Many of the bigger otome publishers like Aksys Games and Idea Factory are releasing their otome localizations exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. But, despite it’s popularity, there are still a lot of gamers who have yet to invest in the console–but does that mean they should miss out on the most recent otome boom in the West? Heck no!
