Here we are again with another PokeNews report! We are now five months into the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Legendary Pokemon Release Event! We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of digital release of the original Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow! And last month we had not one, but four seperate Pokemon distributions!!!

We’ve got four legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to spring forward with another legendary from the Fourth Generation of Pokemon games, with June’s Manaphy release!

Manaphy, the Seafaring Pokemon, is a water type pokemon and the last pokemon introduced before the release of Platinum. This Pokemon is unique from other legendary pokemon in that it is the only legendary that can breed. However, all of Manaphy’s offspring are Phione, so this is really a  two for one distribution! Manaphy has the signiture move, Heart Swap, in which the user switches any increases/decreases in stats with its opponent. Like the others before it Manaphy had its own movie, Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.

There were several Manaphy events over the years, but the one that comes to mind the first is the Pokemon Ranger Egg Event. Players who owned a copy of Pokemon Ranger could trade over a special Event Manaphy egg to any of the fourth generation games. So whether you took part in any of the earlier events or like me, you missed out on getting Manaphy from one of the earlier events, now is your chance.

The Manaphy Event will be a Nintendo WiFi Distribution and will take place between June 1st to 24th 2016. In order to obtain Manaphy, players must have a 3DS or New 3DS, and Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire.

The event Manaphy will be lv. 100 and have the Ability: Hydration, it will also come loaded with the moveset: Tail Glow, Bubble, and Water Sport. It will also have the hold item: King’s Rock.
