My Top 10 Favorite Generation Six Pokemon

It’s been a long time since I wrote my last Pokemon Top 10 list, I originally intended to have all of these posts done before the release of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, but one thing lead to another… ah well, better late than never! This time around, I’ll be covering my Top Ten Gen  6 Pokémon. So let’s get this party started…

kalos

The sixth generation games brought Pokemon to the third dimension with improved 3D graphics and a whole host of interactive features! While liked all of the new advancements and features added to the Gen VI games, I wasn’t quite so impressed with all the new Pokemon that were introduced this time around… they just weren’t as memorable. In fact, I think this was the generation with the fewest new Pokemon rounding out at just 72 critters to capture.

PokeNews: Volcanion Distribution

Here we are again with another PokeNews report! In honor of the release of the nineteenth Pokemon feature length film, Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, Nintendo is holding a Special Volcanion Distribution!!

volcanion

Volcanion, the Steam Pokemon, is a Fire/Water type legendary Pokemon and although it has not been featured in any of the main series games it is still considered one of the sixth generation Pokemon. Volcanion is able to use the water stored within it’s body to create steam, which it shoots from the connected cannons on its back.  Like Hoopa and Magiana, Volcanion was leaked in Coro Coro Magazine prior to it’s official GameFreak reveal.

PokeNews: Victini Distribution

Here we are again with another PokeNews report! We are now eight months into the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Legendary Pokemon Release Event! We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since we started this thing back in February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of Pokken Tournament! We’ve got seven legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to push forward another legendary, with September’s Victini release!

victini

Victini, the Victory Pokemon, is a psychic/fire type introduced in Pokemon Black and White. Despite being Pokemon 494, Victini sports a Pokedex #000. Victini is said to bring victory to the trainer that it befriends, it also has the ability to generate and share energy.

Victini was originally released through a celebratory movie event event back in 2012. So if you missed your chance to get Victini back then, now is your chance.

We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of Pokken Tournament! We’ve got six legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to push forward with the Pokemon god Arceus and August’s  release!

arceus.gif

Arceus, the Alpha Pokemon, also known as the “Original One” is said to be the creator of the entire Pokemon universe and god in its own right. Despite being a normal type, its ability Multitype, when coupled with any one of the Plate items allows Arceus to change its type at will. It is the leader of the fourth generation lake guardians and the creation trio, and thought to be the first Pokemon (which contradicts the Mew myth).

Here we are again with another PokeNews report! We are now six months into the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Legendary Pokemon Release Event! We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of Pokken Tournament! We’ve got five legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to push forward another legendary from the Fourth Generation of Pokemon games, with July’s Shaymin release!

shaymin

Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokemon, is a grass type (grass/flying when in Sky form) introduced in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. While it doesn’t evolve and cannot breed, Shaymin has the ability to switch between two forms: Land and Sky. This ability is activated using the Gracidea key item. However, Shaymin will transform from Sky to Land at night, if the Pokemon is frozen, or if it is deposited into a PC.

Shaymin has been released through event before. So if you missed your chance to get Shaymin from one of the earlier events, now is your chance.

PokeNews: Manaphy Distribution

This event is expired, but feel free to read this post anyway! Also check the bottom of the post for information about future Pokemon 20 Legendary Distribution Events! Check back on the first of each month for information about the newest Pokemon 2016 Legendary Distribution Event Pokemon!

Here we are again with another PokeNews report! We are now five months into the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Legendary Pokemon Release Event! We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of digital release of the original Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow! And last month we had not one, but four seperate Pokemon distributions!!!

We’ve got four legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to spring forward with another legendary from the Fourth Generation of Pokemon games, with June’s Manaphy release!

manaphy.gif

Manaphy, the Seafaring Pokemon, is a water type pokemon and the last pokemon introduced before the release of Platinum. This Pokemon is unique from other legendary pokemon in that it is the only legendary that can breed. However, all of Manaphy’s offspring are Phione, so this is really a  two for one distribution! Manaphy has the signiture move, Heart Swap, in which the user switches any increases/decreases in stats with its opponent. Like the others before it Manaphy had its own movie, Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea.

There were several Manaphy events over the years, but the one that comes to mind the first is the Pokemon Ranger Egg Event. Players who owned a copy of Pokemon Ranger could trade over a special Event Manaphy egg to any of the fourth generation games. So whether you took part in any of the earlier events or like me, you missed out on getting Manaphy from one of the earlier events, now is your chance.
