The first post of the year and it’s a review of Game Grumps’ Dream Daddy. Right, so the the long and short of it; you get to date DILFs… except Brian… homeboy is a dad I don’t want to f***. Now, I’m going to be honest, I only bought this game for the LOL’s… I did not take this game seriously going in, I mean come on, it’s a game about dating single dads. So, I went in expecting the game to be on par with Usaya Co.’s My Horse Prince, so color me surprised when Dream Daddy actually managed to deliver some rather solid gameplay (and a hefty amount of eye roll inducing dad jokes).

Back in March Argent Gameslaunched a Kickstarter campaign for their second BL visual novel Chess of Blades, however they were unable to raise the necessary funding by their April deadline… so, they took a step back to reevaluated the project and I am happy to say that they are giving Kickstarter another go!! So, if you missed out on supporting the first campaign now is the time to show your support!!
In the time between the first campaign and the current one, Argent Games has been hard at work bringing polishing Chess of Blades into something spectacular! New characters, improved artwork and more await in this upcoming BL title!

Hey hey guys I know it’s been awhile since my last Kickstarter post, life has been throwing me curve balls left and right. But, I’m back again with another Kickstarter campaign, this time for the upcoming Boys Love romance visual novel, Chess of Bladesfrom indie game developers, Argent Games!!
This is Argent Games’s second title in the span of a year and I for one am just happy to see developers willing to create more BL titles! There is definitely a market for BL games and Chess of Blades promises to be a welcome edition to the community! So, I’m definitely going to keep a close eye on this game’s progress.
Hello Heroes and Travelers, today we have a special guest post from my blogging buddy and newest otoge recruit,Hazel from over atArchi-Anime!! This is her first ever otome game review and I am so happy that I was able to drag her into otoge hell with me! *rubs hands together* So join me in welcoming her to Nice Job Breaking It, Hero and without further ado, I’m gonna turn things over to Hazel!!
Good afternoon bloggers! Hazelyn here from the anime blog Archi-Anime. Today Naja and I are bringing you a very special collaboration post! This will be my first Otome game review ever, and a very first collaboration post. Hooray for firsts! I’m a bit late to the otome game, but hey, better late than never!
A few months ago I befriended Naja, whom as of late has become a really good friend of mine, I would like to say! I call her the otome queen and my Otome/BL Senpai. I have much to learn, and she has already dragged me down into backlog hell with the amount of games that must are to be played.
I’ve always wanted to write a review of an otome game, so when Naja senpai approached me to write a collaboration on a route I was both ecstatic and flattered she wanted to do this. She had already gotten me hooked onto Voltage games (bye money!) and I was still fairly a n00b to otome. So far I’ve been spoiled with a lot of great routes! So we decided to try a game neither of us had barely any experience with. I had played one route on the mobile version (Iroha), but I ended up buying it on steam during the Winter Steam Sale because it was more cost-efficient than paying per route.
The game we ended up choosing was The Men of Yoshiwara: Kikuya. There are a total of two Men of Yoshiwara games, the other being The Men of Yoshiwara: Oghiya, in which our MC is vastly different-but more on the Kikuya version of her later.
Average college student, Tsubasa Fujimoto finds her normal life turned upside down when her mother subjects her to a strange ritual that gives her overwhelmingly destructive magical powers. Confused and unable to control her newly awakened powers, Tsubasa must chooses a partner to help her acclimate to her new reality.
So this game was sitting in my backlog for ages before I picked it up and I am ashamed to admit that it took me this long to play through it and to finally start on these reviews! First up is the friendly and outgoing, phoenix, Shou Hatori! If you want a more general overview of the game, click HERE to read my first impressions about the game!
**Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of the images used in this review, ALL images, screenshots, and characters belong to Aeon Dream Studios. Please if you are interested in the game, purchase the game either through itch.io or through Steam!!
Edit (2/6): The Kickstarter for this game was successful at meeting its funding goal. The final funding amount was $8,033 with 269 backers! The game now has a tentative release date of TBA!
It’s 2017 and with it comes the promise of new games and brand new Kickstarter campaigns!! If you all will remember back to September when I covered Aeon Dream Studio’s KS campaign for their Deluxe Edition of their debut supernatural romance visual novel, Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons, I mentioned that they were also planning on launching a KS campaign for a sequel called, Mystic Destinies: Echoes. Well I am excited to announce that today marks the first day of the campaign!!
I absolutely LOVE Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons, and I have been stalking ADS relentlessly on social media for months since they first announced their plans to write a sequel! I am super stoked for this game because not only does it let you romance the villains from MDSOA, but it also features a gorgeous sun kissed protagonist!!
