Scandal in the Spotlight | Iori Enjo Review: The Guy I Like is a Rude Pop Star

Kicking off Megane Madness Month reviews is none other than the evil prince himself, Iori Enjo! This was the very first route that I ever played in Scandal in the Spotlight and the second route Voltage released. He just seemed like the better of the two options available at the time, and in hindsight, I don’t regret choosing to play Iori’s route before Kyohei’s route. In fact, if I’d played this route second, I don’t think I would have liked the guy as much as I did…

Iori is the kind of guy that just grows on you… But, even I have to admit that most folks won’t like him very much. He’s not the easiest guy to love, and even I, a self proclaimed lover of cool intellectuals and ice queens, had a hard time swallowing some of the stuff he said throughout the route. But, I stuck with it and the pay off was worth it?!

Scandal in the Spotlight | Kyohei Rikudoh Review: The Guy I Like is a Sexy Pop Star

So when Voltage “cancelled” Scandal in the Spotlight a few months ago, there was a bit of fan backlash, I mean really, who doesn’t want to date an entire Japanese boy band? So, imagine my surprise when I saw the announcement that Voltage was planning on bringing the app back from the dead!! That almost never happens, when Voltage kills an app that’s it, or at the very least it takes years for them revive it *cough* LOVE LETTER FROM THIEF X *cough*

I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw Kyo, I thought he’d be an arrogant, selfish prick, like all of guys Voltage has a tendency to force on us during their initial app releases… But, Kyohei Rikudoh was nothing like that, in fact Kyo is one of the sweetest Voltage guys out there…

My Top Ten Favorite Voltage Guys

Okay so this started out as a Top Five List…but I just couldn’t narrow it down to just five guys. So, I scrapped that idea and instead expanded the list to My Top Ten Favorite Voltage Guys. These guys are my personal favorites, and this was by far the hardest list to compile. I like each of these guys for different reasons and it was really hard ranking them from 10 to 1, they are all just so wonderful *sigh*.

As with any Top Ten List, this list is based on my opinion, so please put away the torches and pitchforks, because your favorite guy didn’t make the list…Remember this is my list, not yours. However, if you feel like there is a guy that should be on this list, leave a comment on this post, tell me about him.

Scandal in the Spotlight – Mini Review

So I sorta kinda fell in love with REVANCE! For those of you that don’t know, REVANCE is the fictional boy band in Voltage Inc.’s mobile otoge Scandal in the Spotlight: Our Secret Love Song. At first I was hesitant, SITS, comes on the heels of Serendipity Next Door, which also featured a secret love affair with a musician. However, unlike Spotlight, Serendipity Next Door was cancelled before the story could really take off.

So I wasn’t really ready to invest my time and money into another game, only to see it cancelled prematurely. Boy am I glad that I changed my mind, the game reminds me of Voltage’s older (at least to me) games like Love Letter from Thief X and Be My Princess, in that I instantly fell in love with all of the characters! There is something special about each and every one of the selectable guys, and believe me when I say I haven’t felt this way about an otome for a long time.
