The Story

In the year 5066, Danya and his alien friend Juniper are manning The Ameretat, a humble spaceship that transports goods across the Milky Way.

After a troubled transport gig that left their beloved ship in need of repair and their bank account empty, the team is offered a generous deal they cannot refuse: transporting a beautiful and mysterious alien who calls himself Brahve.  Sometimes at night, Danya hears strange things from Brahve’s room. What could he be hiding in there? And how will it affect the connection that’s quickly growing between the two men?

Official Synopsis

The Symbiant Review

Spaceship pilot, Danya and his bestie Juniper traverse the stars on their ship, The Ameretat taking on odd jobs and making deliveries. The duo is used to picking up their fair share of questionable gigs, to make ends meet. But after their latest job leaves their ship damaged and their pockets a bit empty, Danya and Juniper are quick to take on any jobs they can. As luck would have it, a beautiful and mysterious alien named Brahve is in need of their line of work. Brahve needs to help transporting what he claims is a “plant” to his homeworld, Odaria.

Danya is immediately charmed by Brahve and wastes no time inviting the handsome stranger and his unusual cargo onto the Ameretat. However, soon after they embark on their journey, Danya notices strange (read: sexual) noises coming from Brahve’s room late at night. When confronted about the odd noises, Brahve is quick to explain them away. His avoidance is suspicious, but does little temper Danya and Brahve’s growing attraction for one another.

The entirety of the story takes place on the Ameretat, which in any other context would make for a very dull experience. But, HeartCore Dev takes full advantage of the smaller scale to tell a much more intimate, character driven story that really digs into the relationships between its cast. The sexual tension between the pair is undeniable and with six weeks left in their journey it’s a matter of when, not “if” these two will give in to their desires.

Danya and Brahve are super thirsty for each other, every interaction feeling more like foreplay than just a simple conversation. But even with the obvious sexually charged energy, it never feels like their relationship is rushed. Their banter is fun, full of light teasing and a whole lot of flirting. From their brief conversations you really get the sense that they’re getting a feel for each other; their boundaries, what they want from a relationship, etc.

What sets The Symbiant apart from other boys love games I’ve played is its emphasis on clear communication and healthy boundaries. At every step in their courtship, Danya and Brahve are always respectful of the other’s space and never purposefully push each other’s limits. This especially comes into play with Brahve and his unique needs. Entering into a relationship with him involves a few extra concessions on Danya’s part involving a certain tentacle alien entity.

Now, I won’t go into full details about that, because discovering the truth behind it and Brahve is honestly one of the highlights of the game. But, I will say I did not expect to see a tentacle alien used as a way to introduce healthy boundaries in a poly relationship. I went in expecting kinky tentacle porn (and believe me it’s there, oh boy is it there), but what I got was probably the healthiest romance I’ve experienced in a boys love story.

Of course, if you’re looking for hot and heavy sex, The Symbiant definitely has you covered—this game gets pretty steamy. Threesomes, solo scenes, and the standard one-on-one scenes; some even involving a certain tentacle alien friend. Brahve has one of the prettiest penises I have ever seen! It’s blue with all these beautiful ribs and nobs. A true work of art. Danya’s is nice too, but Brahve’s dick is out of this world (pun 100% intended). If sexy time isn’t your cup of tea, there is a SFW version of The Symbiant that edits out the sexual content.

I also want to make a note about content warnings. While everything in the game is consensual, there are some bad endings that kind of skirt that line a bit. So, definitely read the content warnings!

The Symbiant is a game that subverted my expectations, in all the best ways. I’m going to keep it 100 with you all, came for the sexy alien porn. A hot, sci-fi romance among the stars is the stuff of all my kinky fantasies. Sci-fi settings are perfect for exploring unusual character designs and lore, opening up a whole new world of possibilities—and trust, The Symbiant more than delivers in that department. But, if that’s all you get from this game, you are missing out on what really makes this game worthwhile.

The team is releasing the sequel, The Symbiant Re:Union on January 29th, so if you haven’t already, this is the perfect time to give the first game a play!

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten over Jast Blue’s games in my heart, especially DRAMAtical Murder and Togainu no Chi *sighs*, I think they’re both great games on the subject and I had a lot of fun with both. I should go back and try more games besides these, but I usually end up disappointed, but this one looks great and I think I should give it a try!

    1. I LOOOOOOOVE the Nitro+chiral BL games! DMMD was literally the first game I covered on this site, so I definitely understand. Those games are iconic. There are some really cool indie BL games coming out too, but this one is one of the best! I hope you like it if you decide to try it out!

Gush about cute otome boys~
