Y’all more otome news!! Aksys Games confirmed that they are releasing not one, three new otome game localizations for the Nintendo Switch in 2021!! As if we needed another reason for 2021 to hurry up and get here…Olympia Soiree, Dairoku: Ayakashimori, and Variable Barricade are all making their way to the west next year!
I am super excited, especially for Variable Barricade—which if you’ll remember from Twitter was on my otome localization wishlist~
Because I know you guys are just as excited as I am, here is a brief overview of the three upcoming releases:
Olympia Soiree
Initial Release: April 16, 2020 (Japan) – Nintendo Switch
One of the last of her clan, Olympia seeks to perform a ritual to return light to a darkened world. Struggling within this society’s strict class system, she must find a partner to help her bring unity to the land.
Dairoku: Ayakashimori
Initial Release: May 28, 2020 (Japan) – Nintendo Switch
Supernatural | Fantasy
Shino’s ability to perceive ghosts lands her a job with the secret government agency tasked with overseeing the supernatural yokai. But even she is not prepared for an assignment to a wonderous, hidden world where she must unify and watch over the yokai.
The English title for this release is still pending.
Variable Barricade
Initial Release: April 4, 2019 (Japan) – PS Vita | June 18, 2020 (Japan) – Nintendo Switch
Comedy | Romance
Hibari’s wealthy grandfather is determined to find her a husband… and she’s just as determined not to accept! Will being forced to live in a luxurious villa with the hand-picked suitors result in an engagement?
Are you as excited about these new releases as I am? Which games are you looking forward to playing the most?

Great to see more otome getting licensed. But man, I wish Idea Factory NA would either license the Hakuoki Switch games or let Aksys do it — I want those fandiscs! Also hoping for Yunohana Spring and Clock Zero in the next Aksys license round.
