Characters of Overnight

Suiko Nishikori (Voiced by Ty Coker)
Upbeat and optimistic, Suiko Nishikori wants only two things in life, attending the prestigious school of Morning Glory Academy and fawning over hot male teachers. With his dreams of men and education coming true, Suiko has only one problem. None of his teachers are interested in him at all! With the help of some friends, town folks, and celestial beings, Suiko will begin his journey to promiscuity!
Takahashi Moriyama (Voiced by Vega B)

Takahashi Moriyama, the stoic history professor, is a man of few words. He loves to travel and loses himself in his studies. Young, dashing, and tall, many women are deeply captivated by him. But his cold eyes and serious nature can leave anyone frozen in fear. Misunderstood, it is hard for Takahashi to converse with others, and he dislikes talking about his past.
Hinata Kento (Voiced by Cloe Feuchter)

Gentle and level-headed, Hinata Kento is a professor who teaches science at Morning Glory Academy. He is the eldest among the teachers but has the most sense of humor. Hinata enjoys playing video games, watching anime, and reading manga. After recently going through a divorce, Hinata finds himself going to the bars to escape the hardships of reality. He is good at masking his feelings and dislikes conflict.
Alexandr Atlas (Voiced by Stygian Zone)

After graduating from an elite art school, Alexandr Atlas was hired as Morning Glory Academy’s art professor. A prodigy, he takes great pride in his works. Fair-skinned and charmingly handsome, Alexander looks like a prince from a fairytale. He can be arrogant at times but also has a down-to-earth side he’s reluctant to show.
Shin Ha-wan (Voiced by Space Captain Gray)

The muscular giant, Ha-wan, is the Academy’s gym teacher. With a fiery passion for physical health and a morale-boosting, he can inspire anyone who comes across him. He is the epitome of “All brawns and no brains.” But makes up for it with his kind and caring personality. Ha-wan tends to put others first, sometimes forgetting to make time for himself.
Ryohei Yukino (Voiced by Buddy V. Z.)

A well-mannered student. Ryohei, attends Morning Glory Academy and feels an unspoken bond or connection with Suiko. Athletic, studious, and kindhearted, Ryohei is the prime example of what every student strives to be. His favorite sport is baseball and can be found practicing after school.
Amadeus – Voiced by Vega B

Amadeus, the overzealous god of Love, was banished from the heavenly realm and sent to earth due to his lazy and selfish doings. Melodramatic at times, he loves grand introductions and roleplaying. He is also the owner of a night bar, The Casanova. Amadeus will need Suiko’s help for him to return to the heavens.
Overnight First Impressions Review
Zullz Games’s Overnight has a pretty simple premise—horny gremlin of a student, Suiko, transfers to the prestigious Morning Glory Academy and immediately sets his sights on mounting his beefy teachers. Whacky hijinks ensue as Suiko attempts to seduce his hot professors with the help of a disgraced (and horny) god of Love and his fujo coded assistant. That’s it. That’s the story. With it’s bright art and over the top characters and writing, Overnight is purely a comedy. No brooding characters or deep storylines, just silly fun.

To be honest, Overnight is probably one of the most unserious games I have played in a long time and you know what, I needed the laugh. There are far too many dramatic (and let’s be honest, traumatic) boys love stories out there, so it’s nice to play something that isn’t afraid to ham it up with over the top raunchy slapstick.
Can it be a bit cliche at times? Sure. Are some of the jokes more cringey than they need to be? Absolutely. But, it’s all in good fun.
The Overnight demo covers the first two days of gameplay, introducing us to our horny protagonist and his unfortunate victims hunky teachers. We follow Suiko as he navigates his school life at Morning Glory: by day he’s a normal student juggling school work and his friends and by night he works as a host at the bar, Casanova. Use Suiko’s infinite charisma (or lack there of) to fumble through his awkward seduction of his teachers by impressing them in the classroom and sussing out their secrets as you serve them at the bar by night. To help Suiko on his journey of himbo domination, there is a social stat feature. Shape your story and Suiko’s personal growth by raising five unique stats.
In Overnight there are six characters Suiko can pursue romantically (or befriend if you prefer to keep things platonic). The four main love interests: Takahashi, the cool stoic one; Hinata, the sweet goofball; Alexandr, the arrogant one; and Ha-Wan the himbo; and two secret love interests, Ryohei and Amadeus. To be honest, all of the characters in Overnight are written in an exaggerated way that can feel kind of “trope-y”, but Overnight is meant to be a comedy. It’s supposed to feel a little silly and even the characters are aware of how bizarre their lives are.

Suiko’s friends openly tease him over his obsession with older men, because Suiko is absolutely shameless in his “seduction”, even I was getting secondhand embarrassment watching it play out. At one point Suiko goes overboard trying to impress Ha-Wan during gym class and he runs into him, ripping his shirt and leaving the man half naked. For no reason, other than fanservice.
As if lusting over your teachers wasn’t enough, the story throws in literal gods and magic! Amadeus, the god of Love, recruits Suiko to help him regain his godhood. So he tells Suiko that he has to collect the semen of his teachers to charge a magical bangle so he can go back to the heavens. And even Amadeus admits that it’s kind of a silly ask. Everyone is very self-aware of how absolutely bonkers everything is and I kind of appreciate that no one acts like anything is normal.

Of course because this is a BL game, there are sex scenes. The game starts out with an animated solo scene with Suiko beating his meat while sniffing his own underwear and I think we can all agree getting off on your own undies is weird AF. But, moral implications of that aside, the scene is fun and I like the animation from an immersion standpoint (but it was unvoiced in the demo).
But if you’re more interested in the teacher’s, don’t worry, you can bang the them in the demo too. Amadeus gives Suiko the opportunity to invite his potential suitors into the Casanova backroom to offer them his “special services”. For now, there’s nothing more graphic than a handy in the backroom, but there is a scene for each of the main love interests. Compared to the other scenes in the game, these are a bit weird. Instead of showing us Suiko servicing the teachers, or at the very least his hands touching their bodies, we are treated to a scene where the guys are posed provocatively while their peens react to Suiko’s stimulation. While it’s kinda funny watching their peens wag in the air of their own accord like dog’s tail, I don’t know why the artist didn’t just draw Suiko’s hands in the CGs! Still, it was and interesting creative choice.

There is also a special bonus sexual encounter in the first chapter that you can only unlock after playing through the demo once… and while I won’t spoil it for you here, it’s fully voiced and worth checking out. Also, as an added bonus, Suiko is a confirmed switch. So, in the full game if you want to see our horny protagonist mount beefy studs or get plowed by them the choice is yours!
Overall, Overnight is a silly, raunchy boys love romp that while not the most serious game I’ve played, it’s refreshing to play something that fully embraces its shenanigans. Suiko is an idiot, but a lovable one and while I personally find his pursuit of his teachers insane (Ryohei is hot, age appropriate, and obviously in love with him, but I suppose there is no accounting for taste), I can’t help but root for him. The jury’s still out on the love interests right now, the demo just scratches the surface on them, but I am curious to see more of them in the full game. Right now, I’m leaning more towards Takahashi, kuudere are my bias.

The devs of Overnight have taken some clear inspirations from comedy anime series and existing comedy boys love stories. So if you are a fan of the likes of BLits’s Camp Buddy or YPress Games’s Oni Onsen, you’ll love the over the top antics of this game. That said, if you’re looking for something fun and unserious to play, definitely give the Overnight demo a play!
