Without a Voice is a dark fairy tale yuri visual novel developed by L³ and published by Studio Élan’s publishing branch, Bellhouse, on March 20th 2020. It follows an exiled princess, Cassidy, who meets a mysterious beauty in the forest she calls home, ensnaring her in a tragedy. To celebrate its 4th anniversary, Studio Élan announced a new free content update for the visual novel including:
- full English voice acting
- additional artwork
- end credits bonuses & achievements
In the depths of a dark and unforgiving forest, an exiled princess whiles her time in solitude. For a girl raised in the lap of comfort, the woods are impossibly harsh, and day-to-day survival is the most she can manage. One day, however, a mysterious, beautiful maiden appears, throwing her world out of its already delicate alignment. The princess is instantly captivated by this stranger, and begins to fancy herself the heroine of a fairytale, even as the maiden proves herself to be less and less of a fantasy.
Foolish princess. She should know by now that her life is no fairytale.
In seven days, the wheel of fate will splinter. Seven days, for better or worse…
Official Synopsis
The two lead voice actors for Without a Voice are Shara Kirby as the princess Cassidy and Natalie van Sistine as the mysterious woman Elowen.
This update will also allow players the option to get the Blooming Edition, the director’s cut of the game for $5. The Blooming Edition expands the story much further by including:
- 4 brand new epilogue short stories
- a built-in artbook viewer in the game
- 2 new illustrations
Both of these updates are now live as of April 5th on Steam and itch.io.
To celebrate this director’s cut of the game now being available, a Kickstarter has also been launched to fund physical copies of the Blooming Edition of Without a Voice as well as exclusive merch of the game. The Kickstarter campaign will run for 1 month, starting April 5th.
