Edit: The Indiegogo campaign for this game was successful at meeting its funding goal! In the end the project was 106% funded and ManEater Games have begun work on the game. ManEater Games working on a shorter game for yaoijam, which will be made available to all of the backers for free on itch.io duruing the last week of July! Finally, the game now has a tentative release date of August 2016!
So here’s another upcoming BL visual novel for all of my BL/Yaoi fans out there…In a world where good BL games are still few and far between comes a BL visual novel with BITE! Monstrous Lovers is an upcoming Spanish/English PC BL visual novel by Man-Eater Games.
I know I really dropped the ball on this one, but I have been extremely busy with school lately! Thank goodness the campaign was extended for another month!
Monstrous Lovers takes you to a world where monsters and humans live side by side. The game follows, Christopher Wells, a civil servant, whose job is to ensure that monster/human relations remain on friendly terms. Unfortunately, his day job isn’t as exciting as one would hope, so he requests a transfer from his dead end job for one with a little more excitement! So he’s off to Saint George, a bustling town with the highest population of monsters. However, when he gets there he finds that his new office is nothing like he’d imagined. The Saint George office is both underfunded and understaffed, and not everyone is happy about having to work with a human. What’s poor Chris to do? Follow our hapless protagonist as he settles in to his new life and job…and maybe even find love in the most unlikely of places… Currently there are four love interests each modeled after characters from classic horror films.
- Branching storyline that changes depending on the player’s choices
- 4 romanceable characters
- 8 different endings
- Professional voice acting
- Theme song by Aurelio Voltaire
- English & Spanish versions
Currently the game has met 80% of its $11,500 goal with 173 Backers! The campaign has been extended for another month (until May 24th 2016) to give the game more time to reach their goal!
They even offer a download link for the Demo right there on the Kickstarter page, which covers about one third of the common route (it’s really well done). So if you are still on the fence about the game or just want to see what the game has to offer give the demo a try.
So PLEASE check out the Indiegogo campaign, HERE, and lend your support. There is still a whole month left and they are currently at $9,223, every little bit helps! I’m planning on donating at the $15 level, which covers the cost of the digital copy of the game! The other price tiers come with some nice goodies so definitely check them out! Also make sure to check out the webpage and tumblr page for production updates and news!
