Here we are again with another PokeNews report! We are now four months into the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Legendary Pokemon Release Event! We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of digital release of the original Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow! We’ve got three legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to spring forward and into the Fourth Generation of Pokemon games, with May’s Darkrai release!

darkrai

Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokemon, is a dark type introduced in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Darkrai is part of the Lunar Duo with fellow fourth Gen Legendary, Cresselia.  It is known to inhabit dreams, causing its victims to experience never ending nightmares. But, Darkrai isn’t all bad, the nightmares it causes are only created as a means of protecting itself. However, the nightmares caused by Darkrai can only be expelled by Cresselia and the Lunar Wing. It’s signature ability Bad Dream, which saps the HP of any sleeping pokemon, makes Darkrai a formidable opponent in any battle. Like the others before it Darkrai had its own movie, Rise of Darkrai.

Darkrai was released back in 2009, through a special item distribution event. During the event, players would receive the key item Member Card in Platinum through the Mystery Gift feature. The Member Card would then allow players to access the harbor in Canalave City and ride a ferry to Newmoon Island. Once there the player will encounter a booming voice and black out, once awake Darkrai will be added to your party. There was also a second event, where you could transfer over Darkrai from Pokemon Ranger:Shadows of Almia. So if you missed your chance to get Darkrai from one of the earlier events, now is your chance.

Here we are again with another PokeNews report! We are now three months into the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Legendary Pokemon Release Event! We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of Pokken Tournament! We’ve got two legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to spring forward and into the Advanced Generation of Pokemon games, with April’s Jirachi release!

jirachi

Jirachi, the Wish Pokemon, is a steel/psychic type from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Jirachi hibernate for a thousand years, during this time it is said that any wish written on the notes attached to its head will be granted once it awakens. Jirachi is also the only Pokemon capable of learning Doom Desire, which is its signature move. Like Mew and Celebi before it Jirachi had its own movie, Jirachi: Wish Makerthe one with the pretty lullaby.

Jirachi has been released before in two seperate Ruby and Sappire Events, so this will be the first time Jirachi will be available outside of its original games. I had one as a child, but that was only because I owned an Action Replay. So if you missed your chance to get Jirachi from one of the earlier events, now is your chance.

PokeNews: [Nintendo Pokemon Direct Announcement] Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun are a GO!

So I thought I’d document my thoughts before the Special 20th Anniversary Pokemon Direct Announcement…I really dunno what to think, earlier this week sites leaked that Nintendo obtained copyrights to Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun, speculating that these are the titles of the 7th generation of Pokemon games. A new game would be awesome, I dunno what to expect but I know it’s gonna be big!

Feb 27th 1996 was the exact date that Pokemon Red and Blue were released exactly 20 years ago. And to commemorate that they had a really sweet and nostalgic video showing people playing pokemon in all of its iterations.

HOLY SHIT A NEW GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pokemon_sun_moon.0.0They Officially announced Pokemon Moon and Pokemon Sun for 3DS later this year! I am so excited right now I can’t contain it! They also announced the digital release of the original Red, Blue, and Yellow with access to the Pokemon Bank so we can finally trade pokemon from the original games to the newer games!

Are you guys excited about Pokemon20? What about Pokemon Go? Feel free to comment and share, and as always THANK YOU for reading!

PokeNews: Mew Distribution

This event is expired, but feel free to read this post anyway! Also check the bottom of the post for information about future Pokemon 20 Legendary Distribution Events! Check back on the first of each month for information about the newest Pokemon 2016 Legendary Distribution Event Pokemon!

So for all of you guys out there that still play Pokemon, today, February 1st is a special day. Today marks the first day of the 11 month Pokemon 20th Anniversary’s Legendary Pokemon Releases. So If you missed the other Legendary Events in the past, 2016 is your year! To kick things off February is Mew Month!

Mew- Pokemon #151

The Event only legendary, First Genners remember Mew for it’s complicated glitch cheat and for being the cause of MewTwo’s identity crisis in the first Pokemon movie. This cute pink Psychic type is one of my favorite legendary Pokemon, it’s such a versatile Pokemon with the ability to learn just about every Pokemon move (minus some Pokemon exclusives). I had a Mew in Gen 1, but because of the lack of forward trading beyond Gen 2, the poor dear was left behind in Pokemon Yellow. So finally after all these years I can finally obtain Mew!

The Mew Event will be a Serial Code Distribution and will take place between February 1st to 24th 2016 at participating U.S. Gamestop locations (I’m not sure about other countries). In order to use the distribution code, players must have a 3DS or New 3DS, and Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire.
