Otome Debates: Introduction

Hey Hey Heroes, Travelers, and Wandering NPCs, welcome to the introductory post of the new Otome Debates series! *throws confetti* Technically, this series won’t start until next Tuesday, but before I spring it on you guys I wanted to go over what to expect from the series when it kicks off next week.

What The Series is About…

This is a brand spankin’ new bi-weekly (Tuesdays) post series where I talk about a few of the “controversial” topics floating around the online otome community. I’ll be covering a wide range of topics within the scope of otome games and their connected media. You don’t necessarily have to be familiar with otome games or the online otome games community to enjoy these posts, since they will mostly offer a general overview of the topic with points from both sides.

The Format…

The basic format will be as follows:

  • Introduction: Brief overview of the topic and an introduction to the various viewpoints people in the otome community have about said topic.
  • Viewpoint Breakdown: This will make up the bulk of the post (roughly 2-4 paragraphs) and focus on fleshing out the opposing viewpoints of the topic. I’ll highlight the main points of each opposing viewpoint, while offering examples to support or refute each argument. I will try to remain as impartial as possible in this section in order to give readers a better understanding of the subject matter without my ickle feelings getting in the way.
  • My Personal Opinion: Like it says, I’ll offer up my opinion on the topic and where I stand on the issues presented in the Viewpoint (name to be changed) section. I’ll try to keep this short, but if I feel strongly about the topic, it might be longer…
  • Conclusion/Wrap Up: A summary of the points presented in the post followed by a poll, so that you guys can weigh in on which side of the debate you stand on (anonymously). You can also share your opinions in the comments section and/or ask for clarification on a point brought up in the post.

Like I said, I won’t be unrolling this bad boy until next week Tuesday, so be on the lookout for that. As a show of good faith, I’ll reveal the topic for the inaugural post… *drumroll* Otome Game Localizations! Yeah, people have strong feelings about localization, so I figured it’d be the perfect way to kick off the new year!!

What do you think of the new post series? Think it’s a good idea? Do you have a topic suggestion? Wanna chat? Drop a line in the comments section (I promise, I don’t bite…much). As always THANK YOU FOR READING!!

Bite Sized Reviews- Dream Daddy

The first post of the year and it’s a review of Game Grumps’ Dream Daddy. Right, so the the long and short of it; you get to date DILFs… except Brian… homeboy is a dad I don’t want to f***. Now, I’m going to be honest, I only bought this game for the LOL’s… I did not take this game seriously going in, I mean come on, it’s a game about dating single dads. So, I went in expecting the game to be on par with Usaya Co.’s My Horse Prince, so color me surprised when Dream Daddy actually managed to deliver some rather solid gameplay (and a hefty amount of eye roll inducing dad jokes).

Year End Wrap-Up: Taking a Step Back to Pallet Town

Well, it’s the end of the year and time for another reflections post… but, honestly, 2017 was a shit show from start to finish and I’m glad to see the bitch die… I mean, fuck 2017… wait, that’s not right either, *ahem* let’s try this again…

With 2017 winding down, it’s time for me to look back on the year, and reflect on all the things I learned these past 12 months. (Nailed it) I’ve been running Nice Job Breaking It, Hero for a little over two years now and in that time I have seen many changes in my life, both personally and professionally. Of course not all of these changes were positive, I had quite a few setbacks this year, but I still managed to come out relatively unscathed.

Last year, I dubbed 2017 my Mt. Silver Year and at the time I wasn’t aware of what an uphill battle it was going to be. Much like the Mt. Silver from the games, this was my toughest challenge yet, but through pluck and sheer determination, I made it to the summit and honestly, there’s still so much more out there to explore and do! But, in order to reach the next summit, I first have to take a step back and start anew, that was one of the hardest lessons to learn this year. You can’t just keep adding paint to an already full canvas, in order to gain some prospective a fresh approach is needed. And so, I dub 2018 my Pallet Town Year….

pallet town.png

These past few years I spent my time building my foundation, experimenting with various colors and hues, some worked, others, not so much. I’ve learned from those experiences and now I think I’m finally ready to create something new, not for likes or views, but for me. Not saying that that wasn’t what I was doing before, but somewhere along the way, I lost sight of what I wanted and now I mean to reclaim that “spark”. But, before I can start in on that new blank canvas, I have to take a step back and evaluate all the wonderful things that happened this year.

I Ship It: 5 Non-Canon Couples That Totally Should Have Been Canon- BL Edition

Have you ever seen two characters that you knew were perfect for one another? Friends that have known each other since they were in diapers. Or maybe bitter rivals that hate each other, but still somehow harbor a deep respect for one another. Or perhaps, they’re the unstoppable baka duo on a high school sports team. I’m talking about those bonds forged through a deep emotional connection between two characters, the kind of bond that transcends the confines of the author’s original intent! RELATIONSHIPS BORN FROM THE HOPES AND DREAMS OF FANS… BEAUTIFUL DELUSIONS THAT GIVE A MIDDLE FINGER TO THE CANON SENSIBILITIES OF THE CREATORS!!

It’s shipping.

I’m talking about shipping…

Whether you love it or hate it, shipping is an integral part of every fandom. If two characters so much as breathe the same air as one another, I guarantee there is a person out there that ships it. But, are shippers really as crazy as folks make them out to be? Is there any basis for their pairings? Are there secret hints hidden in the source material that supports these ships? *shrugs noncommittally* I’m kind of on the fence about shipping, on one hand I do ship characters and I quite enjoy fanfiction, but, I also don’t go out of my way to ship X character with Y character while watching or reading something… that is unless the subtext is blatantly obvious, and that’s how this post was born!

There are times when the subtext is just so in your face you can’t help but connect the dots. In this post I’m going to spotlight 5 non-canon pairings that should have been canon, because… reasons!! This list is not in any particular order, I just listed the pairings in the order they came to me, which I suppose could be used to suss out which pairings are my favorite… but, it’s not. My real OTP isn’t even on this list because as much as I hate to admit it, there really isn’t any in series evidence for the pairing… not that it stops me from loving that particular ship. So, all aboard, this ship is about to set sail!!

Crocheting While Otaku: Progress

Well hello again! It’s been entirely too long since the last Crocheting While Otaku post, but I did say this series would be pretty sporadic. So, it is what it is… In today’s post,  wanted to write a bit about progress. Whether it’s intentional or not, after doing an activity for awhile everyone experiences some degree of progress. Of course it might not be a drastic change, no one’s going to suddenly be able to run a marathon after training for two days. It takes time and a whole lot of effort before you’ll really see any degree of progress in your work.

So, why am I telling you this?

Well, I recently looked back at some of the first dolls that I made and when compared to the newer dolls, let’s just say there’s a noticeable difference in quality. Now, does that mean that my earlier dolls are bad? No, not at all, they are just the product of where I was as a crafter at that point in time. I had never really made dolls before, in fact, I mostly stuck to hats and blankets or just learning new stitches. I never actually set out to make dolls in the first place, so everything I’ve done since July has been a learning curve.

[OWLS Blog Tour] A Year in Lessons: Looking Back at Blog Tours Past

Hey Hey Heroes, Travelers, and Wanderings NPCs, today I’m bringing you all another super special awesome OWLS post!! If this is your first time here at Nice Job Breaking It Hero, you were probably linked here by Lita Kino, she did a super special awesome Birthday/Blog Tour combo post over on her blog, Lita Kino’s Anime Corner!! If you haven’t read her post yet, I highly suggest you do so, she did a phenomenal job!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I joined OWLS: Otaku Warriors of Liberty and Self-Respect, but here we are with a few days left in 2017 and I am so glad I became a part of this wonderful group! For those of you that are new here and haven’t heard about OWLS, we are a group of bloggers and vloggers that hope to spread a message of acceptance and understanding through thoughtful community activism!

So, in order to spread our message of self acceptance and tolerance, we’ve decided to hold Monthly Blog Tours! During Blog Tours, we each write individual theme posts on our blogs that promote our group’s values, with a bit of an otaku twist. December’s Blog Tour topic is Warmth!!

It’s the season of joy, thankfulness, and love. This month’s topic is “Warmth.” Whether it is spending time with family members during the holiday season or with that special someone during New Year’s Eve, we will be discussing moments in anime and pop culture media that convey a feeling of happiness in our hearts. During times of struggles, we look towards the things that matter to us as a source of strength, hope, and happiness. We hope you enjoy this round of posts and that you, too, will have a wonderful holiday season!

Bite-Sized Reviews- Liar! Office Deception

For those of you that don’t know, this is more or less season 2 of the free to play mobile otoge, Liar: Uncover the Truth, featuring a brand new MC and a whole new cast of liars to bust! People have been requesting this game for awhile but, I just have not had the time to commit to a free to play mobile game…and I probably never will…

[New Post Series] Bite-Sized Reviews- Intro Post

Time has not been on my side lately, so I haven’t been able to dedicate as much time as I’d like to gaming. On top of that writing full game reviews take a lot of time and effort, which I’m kind of short on right now…  So, I came up with a solution: Bite-Sized Game Reviews. These will be much shorter and less formal than my existing reviews (Full Reviews, Individual Route Reviews, and First Thoughts), which will hopefully mean that I can post more regularly… in theory, I make no promises.

So, what are Bite-Sized reviews? Well, they are similar to what I do with my First Thoughts and Impressions posts, except they will be significantly shorter, two or three paragraphs (at the most), maybe even bullet points, nothing fancy, I’ll just hit the important points, give my two cents and that’s about it, pretty self explanatory. These are meant to be snacks, just enough to give you a good idea of what the game is about, without all the nitty gritty analysis bits.

Now, I won’t do these for every single game I play, these are mostly for the games I know I have no intention of finishing anytime soon. So rather than having you guys wait for a review that I may or may not write, you can nibble on these little tidbits… Yeah, it’s kind of a cop out, but if it means more consistent content, then it’s alright in my book.

I know I’m literally springing this on you guys at the last possible moment, but procrastination is a way of life. As a consolation of sorts, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to announce the first Bite-Sized Review game…. *drumroll* Liar: Office Deception! Yeah, I do pay attention to your emails, DMs, and comments….

But, that’s it for this announcement! Be on the look out for the first official Bite-Sized Review later on this week and catch you guys on the flip side!

What do you think of the new review series? Think it could be helpful or should I just focus on writing full game reviews? Do you have a game suggestion? Wanna chat? Drop a line in the comments section (I promise, I don’t bite…much). As always THANK YOU FOR READING!!

Tag Game- Five Flaming Hotties- Otome Edition

fiveflaminghottiesnew

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, it’s been forever since I participated in a tag game so thank you Mel ( Mel in Animeland) for including me in this one. I will admit that when I received the WordPress notification about the tag I started considering which hotties to use for this post and sadly, I had a really hard time narrowing the list down to just five hotties… I mean, I love all my baes and husbandos for different reasons so picking just five… it was a struggle. Also, I’m doing things a bit different with this post, all of my choices will be from games (heavy on the otome baes).

The rules

  • Mention the name of the blog you were tagged by, as well as the creators of this game Realweegiemidget Reviews and Thoughts All Sorts to all blogs involved and including the picture above.
  • List five of your greatest hotties from TV and/or film, i.e. crushes/objects of your affection, including musicians or sports stars too.
  • Tell us how you were introduced to them and why you like them/what appeals.
  • Add some appealing pictures.
  • Tag seven bloggers for their Five Flaming Hotties.
  • Post the rules.

[Otome Game Review] How To Fool A Liar King

Hey Hey Heroes, Travelers, and Wandering NPCs, it’s been awhile since my last game review, I just haven’t been in the gaming mood lately. But, I recently took time out of my crocheting schedule to check out RoseVeRte’s newest game, How To Fool A Liar King and all I can say is wow, what a cute game!!! I’ve been following this game for a long time now, and while I all over the production info (read: stalking the RoseVeRte social media accounts), real life kept me from starting the game until just recently and it was so worth the wait!!

I seriously want to thank the RoseVeRte team for sending me a review copy of the game, you guys are awesome and I can’t thank you guys enough for creating such a fun otome game!

Since I’m still getting back into the reviewing spirit, I’m gonna keep this review on the casual side, while still covering the pros and cons of the game! So, lets get this show on the road, here’s my review of How to Fool a Liar King!

Fangirl Moment: Her Impact

Hey Hey Heroes, Travelers and Wandering NPCs, it’s that special time of the week again! Friday!! TGIF! And with the end of the the work week comes yet another super special awesome Fangirl Moment post, the series where I feature interesting media I’ve come across during the week (or whenever). I’ve covered a wide range of topics in theses posts, from books to film to anime and manga to webcomics, the sky’s the limit for my rampant fangirling!

Last week was my boy, Kuroo Tetsurou’s birthday, so I did a list of the Top 5 Reasons Kuroo is the Captain of My Heart, if you missed it, definitely check it out! But, if that’s not your style, be sure to check out one of my other Fangirl Moment posts, by either clicking the weekly series tab from the menu or by clicking… HERE!

IMG_20171201_110104.jpg

This week, I’ll be covering an original web comic series Her Impact, an upcoming sports comic that features a woman of color as the protagonist. Y’all know how I feel about POCs in my media, so when the writer, Mikel Miles brought this amazing concept to my attention, I was all over it. Plus, I’m a huge fan of fighter anime and manga,  Ashita no Joe (Tomorrow’s Joe)! I will forever recommend that series, it’s like perfection!! *ahem* Got a little off track there, but, Her Impact is set to be released in 2018, but Mikel was kind enough to send me a copy of Issue #0. It’s a short demo chapter, but more than enough to give me a feel of the story, and I must say I am curious to see how everything pans out in the end.

[OWLS Blog Tour] Voltron: Legendary Defender- Galactic Emissaries of Diplomacy

Hey hey all you Heroes and Travelers out there today I’m bringing you all another super special awesome OWLS post!! If this is your first time here at Nice Job Breaking It Hero, you were probably linked here by Animepalooza over on youtube, she did a super special awesome video about Diplomacy in ACCA 13!! If you haven’t seen her video I highly suggest you do so, she did a phenomenal job!

Last December I mentioned that I’d joined OWLS: Otaku Warriors of Liberty and Self-Respect, a group of bloggers and vloggers that hope to spread a message of acceptance and understanding through thoughtful community activism!

So, in order to spread our message of self acceptance and tolerance, we’ve decided to hold Monthly Blog Tours! During Blog Tours, we each write individual theme posts on our blogs that promote our group’s values, with a bit of an otaku twist. November’s Blog Tour topic is Diplomacy!!

Fangirl Moment: Kuroo Tetsurou

Hey Hey all you wonderful Heroes, Travelers, and Wandering NPCs! It’s Friday and that means another Fangirl Moments post, the series where I fangirl over anything and everything, from anime and manga to movies and books, everything up for grabs!

Last week, I covered the animated Netflix series, Voltron: Legendary Defender, so if you missed that post definitely check it out!! This week I’m doing things a little differently, instead of covering a form of media, I’m going to talk about a specific character and instead of doing a character analysis, I’m going to do a Top 5 list, because *whispers* I’m writing this from my work computer and my supervisor is coming into the office to shadow…. and this post is kind of time sensitive.

TetsuroKuuro

So today, November 17th is the birthday of my favorite Haikyuu captain, Kuroo “Bedhead” Tetsurou, and in honor of his b-day, I’m going to write about the Top 5 Reasons Kuroo is the Captain of My Heart!! Okay that sounded way better in my head…

Crocheting While Otaku: The Beginning

Hey Hey all you wonderful Heroes, Travelers, and Wandering NPCs!! As most of you already know, I crochet and back in July I decided to open up an Etsy store to sell my various crochet projects. While I specialize in faceless amigurumi dolls, I can make a wide range of crochet items, from hats and scarves to afghans to keychains and knickknacks., I’ll try anything at least once….

Since crocheting takes up a large part of my free time, I haven’t been as active on WordPress as I once was (I’m working on finding a balance, I promise), so I wanted to integrate my crocheting into this blog and the best way I could think of to do that was with a brand new post series…. yeah, I know, there are plenty of those here as it is… but, for my sanity (and the good of the universe), this series won’t follow a strict schedule. So, some weeks there will be one or two Crocheting While Otaku posts and other weeks, there won’t be any, it’ll depend on my moods… Also, this won’t be anything fancy, just a bit of insight into my crocheting process and some of the projects I’m currently working on. From time to time, I’ll go back and spotlight one of the dolls from my store, and give you guys a bit of background on the character and/or why I chose to make it, etc.

So, for the inaugural post of the Crocheting While Otaku series, I thought it’d be fun to just talk a bit about how I got started with crocheting and answering some questions I’ve been asked quite a bit over the past few months…

[News] Info about Voltage Inc.’s new Love 365: Find Your Story App & My Thoughts…

I’m a bit late with this post, seeing as the app officially launched yesterday (forgive me, I have to get back into the swing of things), but better late than never…

Love_365_Find_Your_Story_-_Title.jpg

So, Voltage Inc. is following in the footsteps of their Voltage USA branch, by launching another mobile portal app, Love 365: Find Your Story, this time exclusively for their localized titles (ie. Love Letter From Thief X, Code of Love: Era of Samurai, and more). This new app will be the exclusive hub for all of your favorite Voltage Inc titles and the place where the company will release all new stories and apps. Let me repeat that for the folks chatting in the back, all current and future Voltage Inc. titles and stories will be released through the new app, though at this time only a handful of titles have been moved to the new app: Love Letter From Thief XAfter School Affairs, and Era of Samurai: Code of Love.

But don’t worry, this switch is not nearly as awful as the infamous Lovestruck debacale that happened earlier this year. I’m going to do a run down of the Love 365: Find Your Story app and sharing my thoughts on the transition, so let’s get this show on the road!!

Melanin Monday: Why We Need Black Panther

I recently saw Thor: Ragnarok, and while I think it is one of the better films to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, though I will admit a lot of that had to do with the tone of the film, rather than the actual plot (but that’s a discussion best saved for another day). In fact, I absolutely love the MCU, the good, the bad, and the ugly (I’m looking at you Hulk and Incredible Hulk), but there is one film that I am looking forward to the most from the MCU… and no, it’s not Infinity Wars Pt 1…. I mean, I am, that shit looks like it’s going to be epic, but even more than that, the film I am most looking forward to is Black Panther!

I still remember the first time I saw the teaser trailer, it literally gave me chills, hell, I still get chills every single time I watch this trailer. Don’t get me wrong, T’Challa is not the first black superhero to grace the silver screen (and God willing, he won’t be the last), but Black Panther has something the Blade franchise, Spawn, and of course the comedies like Blankman and Meteor Man never quite seemed to capture with their Black super hero leads. Don’t get me wrong, each film mentioned above, has it’s merits, but each one is missing a bit of that inherent Blackness that makes Black Panther stand out as something truly revolutionary.

Fangirl Moment: Voltron Legendary Defender

Hey Hey Heroes, Travelers and Wandering NPCs! I know it’s not Friday… well, maybe it is somewhere in the world… maybe? *awkward laugh* I’ve been kind of AWOL with this old blog for the past few months, forgive me, I’ve been trying to get my life together, but I’m back… kind of. It’s gonna take me a bit to get everything back up and running (I’m a bit rusty), but I recently watched an animated show that I just had to write about! So, while the blogging spirit is flowing through me, I figured I’d best get this post out, before I get distracted again… This week’s Fangirl Moment post will be about… *Drumroll* Voltron: Legendary Defender!

Voltron.jpg

Team Voltron (Front L-R) Pidge, Shiro ❤ , Keith (Back L-R) Hunk, Coran, Allura, and my boy LANCE KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *ahem* I mean Lance

Yeah, I got sucked into the Voltron fandom…. I mean, I’d seen a few reruns of the 80’s series when I was a kid, but I never really got into it. Giant robots and explosions weren’t my thing… okay, Power Rangers aside… So, when the reboot was announced I just didn’t pay it much mind. But, after seeing tons of fan art and hearing countless people praise the series, I figured why not give it a try… I’m lying, I finished watching Stranger Things 2 and I needed something to watch while I crocheted and Voltron seemed like the perfect background noise. I never dreamed I’d make it through the first episode, let alone binge all four seasons in the span of a week, but here we are and I NEED MORE!!! So, you guys get to listen to my rampant fangirl ramblings about Voltron! Yay!

Spirit Parade- Hayato Review

Spirit Parade is a commercial supernatural romance English otome game from Lettuce Waltz. While the concept of the game is wholly original, many of the characters and themes featured in the game are taken from various Asian mythologies and legends. The game follows seventeen year old Nara (name changeable) a young girl who unwittingly stumbles upon a portal to the Spirit World. Unfortunately for our young heroine, the portal she used to enter the Spirit World won’t reopen until the end of a month long festival. After spending a month among the youkai and spirits, will Nara finally be able to return her old life in the Human World? Will she want to?

This game has been in development hell for about two years, and to be completely honest I thought Spirit Parade would never see the light of day. But, miracles do happen. Originally slated to be a full game release with five romanceable characters and full English voice acting, Lettuce Waltz decided to release the game per route (as routes are completed) without the voice acting (due to scheduling issues). While I’m fine with the per route release schedule, I will say I am a bit disappointed that the voice acting won’t be included in the initial route releases (though, you can still hear the voices in the demo version of the game) and the team has promised that an additional patch with voice acting will be included at a later date.

*There will be some spoilers…*

I’ve Kinda Been Neglecting My Blog, Again…

Hey Hey all you wonderful Heroes and Travelers out there, it’s been awhile since I posted anything on this blog (my failed attempt at completing the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge aside) and for that I really don’t have any excuses, I just didn’t feel like writing. I’ve been running this blog for 2 years now and I finally hit that point where I don’t get that itch to write everyday. Don’t worry, I’m not abandoning this blog, I’m just not really playing games as much as I used to and while I still love them, I’m not going to force myself to play a game for the sake of writing reviews. Been there, done that, and it’s no fun.

So, when the mood strikes me, I’ll write a review, if you have a game you want me to check out or review, I strongly urge you to utilize my contact page (I do read all the emails). However, please be patient with me, I work full time during the week at a real estate firm and in my free time I am crocheting dolls for my Etsy Store or procrastinating writing articles for MANGA.TOKYO (I just picked up Blood Blockade Battlefront season 2 for them). Plus, I have shit going on in my real life that needs attending to… *ahem* I mean, I’m out here trying survive adulthood, a difficult task to say the least.

Since, I don’t want this post to just be about my lack of actual content, I will commit to writing at least two posts this week. Now, whether they’ll be reviews or not is still up in the air (chances are one will be), so keep your eyes peeled for those.

I’m also playing around with the idea of doing a post series featuring my various crochet projects, give a bit of insight into my process…. Would you guys be interested in that?

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge: Days 16- Favorite Uniform

It’s day 16 of the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge and I’m going to share with you guys my favorite uniform!

haikyuu challenge

Since this challenge didn’t come with any instructions or anything like that, I’m going to assume they mean  volleyball uniforms and not school uniforms. Though if you want to know, I am partial to the Nekoma High school uniform, that sweater vest and blazer combo is to die for!

But that’s neither here nor there… As for my favorite volleyball uniform, that’s another matter entirely! I thought about this long and hard, and after much deliberation I decided to go with….

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge: Days 15- Favorite Animal Representation

I’m failing so hard at this challenge, hopefully I can be a bit more consistent from now on (no promises). I’m not one for excuses, so let’s get this show on the road, shall we… We’re up to day 15 of the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge and today’s prompt is My Favorite Animal Representation.

haikyuu challenge

I have to give it to the creator of this challenge, this is definitely a unique prompt and a challenging topic to write about. There are so many great teams in Haikyuu and each one has their own unique animal representation, each with their own merits. So, choosing one over the others is not an easy task… Okay, so really it was only hard to choose between just three teams and their animal representations and you can probably guess which ones…

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge: Days 14- Favorite Friendship

Ah yeah, I’m still late with this post, but since I have a bit more to say about this topic, I’m not doing a double post today! Yay?! In my defense I have been reading Haikyuu fanfiction all week so it’s not like I was completely neglecting my love of the series…

haikyuu challenge

I had a hard time choosing what to write about for this prompt, since there are so many great friendships in this show. Hell, you could argue that the show focuses more on the bonds the characters share with one another than it does on volleyball…. but that would be preposterous. So, rather than picking one friendship, I picked three!!*Ahem* My favorite friendships in Haikyuu are….

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge: Days 12 & 13- Favorite Manager & Favorite Non- Player Character

Alright, I got caught up with this really amazing fanfic and work has been kind of hectic, so i wasn’t able to write these posts during my free time like I originally planned. Ah, the perks of being an adult and a nerd… Anyway, since my answers for these two days are kind of short, I figured I’d just combine them like I did with days 10 and 11!

haikyuu challenge

This post is gonna have a lot of girl power, since both of my picks happen to be some pretty phenomenal women! I’m not going to drag this out much so, without any further ado, here are my Day 12 and Day 13 picks!!

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge: Days 10 & 11- Favorite Libero & Favorite Team Captain

Yesterday was my birthday, so I definitely missed writing the Day 10 prompt. Rather than write separate posts for Day 10 and Day 11, I decided to just combine them into one post! Don’t worry, this won’t be a super long post, like the previous challenge posts, this one will be pretty straightforward.

I missed posting this yesterday, I was out all day yesterday (got an early start on my birthday), so today will be another double header (expect Day 10 later on today)!

haikyuu challenge

Okay so for yesterday’s prompt, I was supposed to write about my favorite setter… There’s only one character that comes to mind…. and… it’s….

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 8: Favorite Middle Blocker

Well, what can I say, this is going to be a super short post since I already declared my love for middle blockers in Day 6 post. On top of that, I have two favorite characters that both just so happen to be middle blockers and I already wrote about both of them….

haikyuu challenge

It should be fairly obvious who I’m talking about, buuuuuut, if you’re still in the dark here’s a hint: They are my favorite Haikyuu ship!

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 7: Favorite Wing Spiker

We’ve finally reached the set of prompts that require a bit more thought. As much as I love Haikyuu, I have to admit that I am not very good at remembering which positions each character plays. I mean, yeah, I know the positions of all of Karasuno’s starting line up and the positions of the most prominent rival players (Kuroo is a middle blocker, Bokuto is a wing spiker, and Oikawa is a setter), but for everyone else I have to constantly reference the Haikyuu wiki page.

haikyuu challenge

So, these next few prompts (Day 7- Day 11) will require a bit more effort on my part, since I’ll have to dig deep. I guess I could just pick characters from Karasuno and save myself s a bit of work, but that wouldn’t be much fun… We’ll just see how this all pans out, as for today’s prompt, my favorite wing spiker is…

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 6: Favorite Volleyball Position

Alright, Day 6 of the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge and another day of sweet Haikyuu goodness! Today I’m supposed to write about my favorite volleyball position! *cue jokes*

haikyuu challenge

I never really gave much thought to which position I fancied the most, they all have their merits and while some positions come with a bit more prestige than others, they all are important for a well balanced team. So, I really drew a blank with this prompt… I’m a pretty aggressive person so I rather like offensive positions, but, I’m not really big on team sports in general, so I tend to favor defensive positions whenever I have to participate in real life. I really feel like I just contradicted myself…. oh well, so about that response! Let’s see, my favorite volleyball position is…

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 5: Favorite Team

This post is gonna be short, because honestly, I’m kinda burned out today, this was the longest work day in the history of workdays… Today’s post is kind of a complement to the day 4 post I wrote earlier today, since, well, I won’t spoil it for you guys…

haikyuu challenge

Okay, so this is kind of an unfair question, I love all of the teams in Haikyuu. They are all special in their own ways and it’s not easy to pick just one as my favorite…. Okay, who am I kidding, of course I have a favorite team, hell, who doesn’t have a favorite team?! *ahem* So, my favorite team is…. Ka-

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 4: Favorite Non-Karasuno Character

I’m a day late and a dollar short, I had a busy weekend, what with the holiday and all, so I didn’t really get a chance to write much of anything… maybe I should have planned these posts out in advance…. nah.  But, that’s okay, we’re gonna keep this Haikyuu train rolling along anyway!

haikyuu challenge

So for the Day 4 prompt I’m supposed to write about my favorite non-Karasuno character… I guess the challenge creator knew that if left to their own devices most folks would just write about the characters from Karasuno and neglect everyone else. But, can you blame them? Karasuno has some fantastic characters! But, alas, I’ll have to ignore them for the time being, so, my favorite non-Karasuno character is….

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 3: The Character You Gradually Warmed Up To

Alright, it’s Day 3 of the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge, so far, I’ve been able to keep up with these posts (but, it’s still early in the challenge). I read through the challenge prompts before I started and I realized that I’m going to be double dipping quite a bit, since at least one character in particular *cough* Tsukishima *cough* fits the bill for quite a few of the daily prompts (I’ll try to keep the posts he appears in to a minimum, but no promises).
haikyuu challenge

I say all of this because, when I first read this prompt my mind, as it often does, immediately turned to Karasuno’s salty middle blocker, who I absolutely hated at the start of the series… but, that seemed like a bit of a cop out since I already wrote about him on day 1, so I did a bit of soul searching and settled on a different character…. *drumroll*

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 2: The Character I First Fell in Love With

I’m late… but it’s technically still the 2nd in my neck of the woods, so it’s okay. It’s Day 2 of the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge, and today’s prompt is the character I first fell in love with.

haikyuu challenge

To be honest, I had to think really hard about this one, and before you guys say anything about Tsukishima, remember I spent the better part of the series hating the guy, so he will not be my pick for today’s post. Instead, after much deliberation, I decided to go with….

30 Day Haikyuu Challenge- Day 1: Favorite Characters

Alright, it’s September 1st and that means the start of the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge!! As if I didn’t already inundate you guys on a daily basis with my love of Haruichi Furudate’s ongoing sports series. 30 days, 30 prompts, and just one crazy Haikyuu fangirl, it should be a blast! Hopefully I can keep this going for the full 30 days, but only time will tell….

haikyuu challenge

So, for Day 1, I’m supposed to write about my favorite character, which with a series like Haikyuu is no easy task, I love all of the characters. So, choosing just one as the best, is super duper hard… no, not really, if you know me or have even glanced at this blog or my twitter, you already know that my favorite character is…..

September 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge Announcement!!

Hey, hey Heroes and Travelers, this will be a quick post. Yesterday I made a very short, blink and you’d miss it announcement that I’d be undertaking the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge during the month of September!! Why September? Well, not only is September my birthday month, but it’s also the birthday month of my absolute favorite Karasuno team member, Tsukishima Kei!! Also, if you didn’t already know, I’m a huge fan of Haikyuu, so this is really just an excuse for me to fangirl about the series for the umpteenth time!!

haikyuu challenge.jpg

So for 30 days (starting on September 1st) expect a whole lot of Haikyuu love coming your way! But, if you have to blame someone for this thirty day Haikyuu extravaganza, thank the lovely Mel from over at Mel in Animeland, since she is the person that brought this challenge to my attention!

What do you think about the announcement? Are you excited to see my responses to the prompts? Do you think I can finish it in the 30 days allotted by the challenge? Let me know what you think in the comments section. Somehow I feel like this is going to be a long month! As always, THANK YOU for reading!!!

Nice Job Breaking It, Hero is 2 Years Old!!

I am terrible with dates and anniversaries, so imagine my surprise when I received a WordPress notification that my Blogiversary was on August 18th and not the 11th like I thought… whoops.  The 11th was actually the day I made my first ever blog post, so it’s still a pretty big milestone in my book! Though, this post is super late (August is almost over)…

pikachu celebration

I can’t believe I managed to keep this blog running for two years, and I am super grateful to to each and every one of you folks out there for sticking with me through all of the ups and downs. I always say this, but you guys are the real MVPs here at Nice Job Breaking It, Hero and I am in awe of the outpouring of love you guys have shown me over these past two years. This blog is a labor of love, I put my heart into everything that I write and it’s humbling to know that so many people appreciate my thoughts and opinions. I appreciate you all taking the time to not just read my awkwardly random ramblings, but for also all the likes and comments, I may not always respond, but just know, I look forward to them all…

Since this is my 2 year anniversary, I feel like I should have something spectacular planned, buuuuuuut, I was never one for planning things out, I’m more of a night before kind of gal…. So, I don’t exactly have anything special plan, though I guess this is a good enough time as any to announce that I’ll be doing the Haikyuu Challenge in September (thank Mel, she graciously brought it to my attention over on Twitter)! Thirty days of Haikyuu goodness, to celebrate my birthday month (and Tsukki’s B-day), so be on the look out for that next month. As for right now…. I guess I could share my blogging story and highlight some of my favorite blog posts.

Blind Men- BL Game Review

Blind Men is a lighthearted spy fiction BL visual novel created by Man Eater Games. The game follows  Keegan, a young man who dreams of becoming a super villain just like his uncle. But, he still has a lot to learn, when his first heist goes awry he finds himself the unwilling ally of two spies each with their own hidden agendas.

This is a commercial release, coming in at a cool $3.99 USD and is playable on Windows and Mac operating systems. Blind Men is a rather short game with two love interests, a Russian spy, Sergei and Hunter, an American Special Agent. Despite it’s rather short run time, the game offers hours of fun and EIGHT unique endings!

Big thank you to the Man Eater Games team for sending me a review copy of the game!

I’m Still Alive, Tired, But Still Kickin’!

pikachu celebration.gif

Hey Hey All You Wonderful Heroes and Travelers (gosh, it’s been awhile since I said that), I hope you guys didn’t miss me too much! This post signifies my official return to blogging, I meant to come back sooner, but, I quite liked the break so I wound up staying away much longer than I planned. Though, granted, I was still pretty active on Twitter and Instagram. I’ve also been crocheting up a storm for my Etsy store, Poke’s Amigumuri Pals, and on top of that I’ve been out and about, exploring and growing, which left very little time for blogging…. but, I am back and I hope to resume blogging as usual next week. In the meantime, I’ll be posting a few Kickstarter campaign posts and some demo reviews (hopefully I can get them done before Otakon).

What’s New

  • My Blogiverary is on the horizon (August 11th), apparently, I’ve been blogging for two years, though, I could have sworn it was much longer than that… I plan on doing something special for that. What that special something will be, I have no clue, but whatever it is, it will be epic!!
  • I opened up my very own Etsy store, Poke’s Amigumuri Pals for all my amigurumi (crochet) dolls. The store specializes in faceless dolls (but, I can give them faces if someone is dead set on it). I am open to commissions and custom orders, so if you have a game character, anime character, or whatever that you want to own in doll form, just shoot me a message and I can work with you!
  • Most of you guys should know that I am a writer for the anime news site, MANGA.TOKYO, which also contributed to the blogging hiatus (just a bit though). I’ve written a few articles for them so far, and there are more on the way (just gotta find the time to crank em out), but the real news is that I’ll be covering the anime convention, Otakon as press for the site this weekend! This is my first time doing something like this, and while I’m nervous as hell, it should be a lot of fun, so I’m looking forward to it!
  • Added a Ko-fi button to the sidebar, because this blog is a labor of love, I don’t receive any money for anything that I write here (though occasionally a dev will throw me a review copy of a game) I come out of pocket for everything, so if you like what you see consider donating. But, it’s optional, so don’t feel obligated in any way!

Slowly Chuggin’ Along

I’m one of those, 9-5 office workers now, so the bulk of my blogging and crocheting gets done either during the commute to and from work or when I get home (right before I conk out for the day). That being said, I’m still going to be a bit slow with updates, but I’ll do my best! Just bear with me for a bit longer.

hug

I’d like to thank all of you for your love and support over these past few months, shit really hit the fan for me at one point, and while everything isn’t smooth sailing, I can honestly say that I am happy and a lot of that has to do with you guys! Every comment, tweet, message, and email means a lot to me (yes, I do read them, even if I don’t respond), so thank you guys for being so super special awesome!!

[OWLS Blog Tour] Not All Heroes Wear Capes: How a Quirkless Kid Became A Hero

Hey hey all you Heroes and Travelers out there today I’m bringing you all another super special awesome OWLS post!! If this is your first time here at Nice Job Breaking It Hero, you were probably linked here by the lovely Lita’s blog tour post… and I welcome you with open arms!!

Let’s Show Our Support for The Masquerade Killer!!

Hey hey guys not even my busted laptop could keep me from telling you guys about the kickstarter campaign for Ebullience Games’s upcoming murder mystery English otome game, Masquerade Killer! This isn’t Ebullience’s first foray into the world of otome games, but there newest title promises to add a bit of spice the genre, besides who doesn’t like a good mystery?

I’ve been following the production of this game for awhile, and I am super excited for it, so I’ll be doing my best to boost it throughout the campaign. This looks like it’s going to be a fantastic game, but if you still need a bit of convincing, I’m going to do a rundown of all the great features the team has in store for you guys in the full version of the game. The kickstarter campaign for Masquerade Killer will run until August 9th, 2017!

Let’s Show Our Support for Grand an 18+ BL Visual Novel!!

Hey hey guys I am super late with this Kickstarter campaign, there are just 9 days left to support JKU Studio’s upcoming 18+ BL romance visual novel GRAND!! I am a huge fan of BL games, so when the Neku emailed me about their upcoming game, I just knew I had to help spread the word (though granted real life decided that that was also the perfect time to knock me down a peg).

I am loving this influx of BL games from the western indie game developers and GRAND!! promises to be a fun new title. There is still time to show JKU Studios some love, but if you need a bit of convincing, I’m going to do a rundown of all the great features the team has in store for you if the game is able to reach it’s $3,500 funding goal by July 15th!

I Kinda Sorta Started an Etsy Store!!

Hey Hey Heroes and Travelers, you guys may have noticed that it’s been kind of quiet here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero and I promise I had a really good reason for that… *drumroll* I was busy setting things up for my very own Etsy store!!

etsy logo

Back in June I ran the Super Special Awesome Giveaway and gave away a one of a kind handmade amigurumi doll (see Weekend Otaku’s post for pics of their prize). I had two reasons for hosting the giveaway, the first being to thank you guys for being so super special awesome over the years and the second was to gauge interest in my mad crocheting skills… XD

My mom taught me to crochet years ago, she used to make baby blankets for me and my younger brothers, and one day I got it in my head to ask her to teach me how to do it too. I mostly made blankets and hats, but recently got into amigurumi crafts, so I figured why not try my hand at selling. It took me awhile, but I finally set up my own store, Poke’s Amigurumi Pals (lol I know it’s a funny name, but it was the only one that stuck) where I will be selling some of my amigurumi wares.

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Jun. 11th to Jun. 17th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! Week one of being a working adult has left me exhausted, but I’m enjoying the work so far and I’m getting the hang of things…finally.  Though I’m still not sold on this 6AM wake up time every day, I’ve been conking out the minute I get home everyday…

sleep haikyuu.gif

But, plus side is that I get weekends off, so there must be something to this adulting thing after all. Saw that movie, 47 Meters Down, and it was hilarious, one of those films that are so bad, they’re actually kind of good… maybe if you squint. Oh, and I read one of the most beautiful fanfics the other day, it was just so perfect!!

I Slept With the Bartender?!: Irresistible Mistakes- Go Okubo Main Story

I misjudged Go in my first review of Irresistible Mistakes, I was fooled by yet another Voltage Inc. character bio, you’d think I’d have learned my lesson by now, but nope… Voltage has Go Okubo billed as a “sweetheart con artist”, which couldn’t have been further from the truth and it’s because of this misleading bio that I almost passed up on one of the best routes in the game.

Go bio

I went into this route expecting it to fail, but after playing that first chapter I was singing a completely different tune! Go blew Toshiaki’s route out of the water and I am not ashamed to admit that this is my new favorite (we’ll see how I feel after I play Toma’s route 😉 )! If you want a general overview of Irresistible Mistakes, click HERE, it’s covers the basic premise of the game and will include links to the other character reviews I will write for the game.

**Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of the images used in this review, ALL images, screenshots, and characters belong to Voltage Inc. Please if you are interested in the game, download the game for free in the App Store or from Google Play and purchase the stories when they are available in your area.

I also have two interviews next week for full time positions in my field of study, but I am just relieved to be working again… though getting up early in the morning is going to take some getting used to, but I’m excited nonetheless!

The winner of the Super Special Awesome Giveaway was selected, so congratulations to Weekend Otaku!! Don’t worry if you didn’t win a doll this time, there will be opportunities to get a doll soon… I’m working on setting some things up, so be on the look out for that in the coming weeks.

Fangirl Moment: Roommates (Seok Young)

TGIF Heroes and Travelers, it’s Friday and that means it’s time for another Fangirl Moment, the series of posts where I spotlight media I think you guys should check out! This week I’m covering a Korean webcomic I discovered a little while ago, Roommates (aka Can’t Confess) by Seok Young, translated by Han. This is a fun comic about two friends that secretly harbor feelings for one another, things only get a bit more complicated when they suddenly become roommates… It’s just as awkward and hilarious as you’d imagine!

The series was originally published digitally by Mr. Blue back in 2015, but was eventually picked up by Spottoon.com for an English language release. This is a paid release, but you can read the first five chapters for free and by creating an account with the site you can also earn keys that will unlock additional episodes for free. Spottoon also has weekly/monthly free episode rotations, so if you plan accordingly, you can read the whole thing for free.

If you aren’t in the mood for BL, I highly recommend checking out one of my other Fangirl Moment posts (there are a ton to choose from) by clicking right, HERE, I cover a range of topics so I’m sure you’ll find something worthwhile over there!! For everyone else, let’s get this show on the road shall we?

Let’s Show Our Support for “Chess of Blades” A BL Visual Novel (Relaunched)!!

Edit (6/29): The Kickstarter for this game was successful at meeting its funding goal. The final funding amount was $6,738 with 234 backers! The game now has a tentative release date of October/November 2017!

I am super late with this post, I seriously meant to have it up weeks ago, but better late than never, am I right? Back in March Argent Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for their second BL visual novel Chess of Blades, however they were unable to raise the necessary funding by their April deadline… so, they took a step back to reevaluated the project and I am happy to say that they are giving Kickstarter another go!! So, if you missed out on supporting the first campaign now is the time to show your support!!

In the time between the first campaign and the current one, Argent Games has been hard at work bringing polishing Chess of Blades into something spectacular! New characters, improved artwork and more await in this upcoming BL title!

Let’s Show Our Support for “A Very Important Date” (Relaunched)!

Back in November Naive Sprites launched their first Kickstarter campaign for their Alice in Wonderland inspired English otome game, A Very Important Date. However, they were not able to meet their original funding goal by the end of the campaign… Well, I am excited to write that they have not given up on the project and are back with a second revamped campaign!! This time around the team is looking to raise funding for the main game and a spin-off game featuring a male protagonist! Plus there is a ton of new content and features that expand on the original concept.

I have been following this game’s development for a long time now and I absolutely adored the demo!! I really want to see this project become a reality! So when Naive Sprites announced that they were giving Kickstarter another go, I knew I had to show my support!

This time around, I’m spotlighting the upcoming dating sim, Two ScoopsThis game is a joint collaboration between Thumb Cramps and Pillowfight and follows an unnamed protagonist as she adjusts to her new job at a local ice cream shop and maybe find love along the way…

Some of you know this already, but I crochet and while I usually stick to afghans, hats, and scarves, but recently I’ve gotten pretty good at amigurumi crafts. So for one lucky follower, I will be giving away a free amigurumi doll!

20170604_092050.jpg

These are just examples, but the winner can request one of these if they so choose.

I am leaving the design of the doll up to the winner. They can choose to have a doll made in their likeness or choose a character, but keep in mind that if you ask for something I can’t do, I will let you know and you’ll have to come up with something else.

Each doll is handmade by me and they are roughly 6 inches. I use acrylic yarn for the bodies and the filling is 100% polyester craft filling.

I will share pictures of the finished doll with the winner prior to shipping to ensure that the doll is exactly what they want, but once I send it off I will not accept returns.

I’ll ask for details about the doll you want and shipping info so I can send the doll directly to you (I will be covering the shipping costs).

[OWLS Blog Tour] Our Imperfections Make Us Stronger- Learning to Accept Your True Colors

Hey hey all you Heroes and Travelers out there today I’m bringing you all another super special awesome OWLS post!! If this is your first time here on Nice Job Breaking It Hero, you were probably linked here by my blogging buddy and the anime host with the most, Takuto… and I welcome you with open arms!!

Back in December I mentioned that I’d joined OWLS: Otaku Warriors of Liberty and Self-Respect, a group of bloggers and vloggers that hope to spread a message of acceptance and understanding through thoughtful community activism!

owl

So, in order to spread our message of self acceptance and tolerance, we’ve decided to hold Monthly Blog Tours! During Blog Tours, we each write individual theme posts on our blogs that promote our group’s values, with a bit of an otaku twist. May’s Blog Tour topic is Strength!

*Disclaimer: This post and the film, Colorful deal with some heavy themes that some people may be uncomfortable with, namely suicide and death. While I understand that different cultures and people deal with mental health in different ways, it’s important to know that this is an important topic and I have done my best to handle it with the utmost care. Remember that if you or anyone you know is experiencing feelings of loneliness, saddness, hopelessness or considering suicide, you are not alone!

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- May 14th to May 20th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! Some of you may have noticed that I’ve stopped writing all of my weekly post series (save this one). Don’t worry, they aren’t cancelled, just on hold until June like everything else. I’m currently working on bringing everything up to snuff and for that I need a bit of time and with all the real life stuff I have going on right now, I need to prep a bit.

cooking.gif

I will still upload game reviews during this time, but, that will be about it. If everything goes as planned, I should have everything back and running starting June 1st. In the meantime, I am always open to chatting with more bloggers and writers, so definitely hit me up and say hi, a list of where to find me online is, HERE! Also, if you want to exchange Blogroll links, just let me know and I’d be more than happy to add you, however, you kind of sorta have to write about Japanese culture and media (anime, manga, otome games, etc), but I will make an exception for K-dramas a K-pop stuff!

[First Thoughts] Re:Birthday Song ~Koi o Utau Shinigami~

Re:Birthday Song ~Koi o Utau Shinigami ( Re:BIRTHDAY SONG~恋を唄う死神~) is a 2015 Japanese supernatural fantasy otome game, developed by Honeybee (the team behind the popular, Starry Sky series). While the game does not have an official English language release, earlier this year, estearisa released a full English patch of the game. Of course as it is with most patches, you’ll have to purchase a Japanese copy of the PC game (not the Vita port) in order to play it. I will say this now, it’s easier to find copies of the Vita version of the game, however, they won’t work with the patch. (Ebay has a few copies floating around though)

The game follows Kokoro a young girl who suddenly becomes the newest resident of the Netherworld, a place where souls with deep regrets go when they die, as she trains to become a full fledged shinigami. But, because our heroine isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, she has to take supplementary lessons with a group of shinigami rejects…

I am notorious for never finishing games, so I picked up Re: Birthday on a whim, since my playthroughs of Period Cube have pretty much come to a standstill. So, I figured I’d play one route and go back to PC, what I didn’t expect was to be hit over the head with wave after wave of tear inducing emotions… OH MY GOD THE FEELS IN THIS GAME!! I’d played one of Honeybee’s other titles, Starry Sky in Spring ages ago and it’s like comparing apples and oranges!

Disclaimer: Screenshots used in this post were taken from the game and belong to Honeybee and the other respective developers of the game. Also, this game deals with some mature topics such as, but not limited to: death, suicide, and grief. Just a bit of a warning.

[First Thoughts] Period Cube ~Shackles of Amadaeus~

Period Cube ~Shackles of Amadaeus~ is a fantasy/RPG Japanese otome game developed by Otomate, based on the Drama CD series of the same name. The game was released in Japan in 2016 for the PS Vita, prior to it’s English language release by Aksys Games on April 28th. I’d heard some mixed reviews about this game from folks who played the Japanese version, but I like to give games the benefit of the doubt, especially when it comes to major localizations and releases (Norn9 does not count)… Period Cube is a commercial release, full retail: $39.99 USD on Amazon (affiliate link), which isn’t all that bad for what the game has to offer, especially when importing the Japanese version is double, if not triple that amount.

I seriously thought I’d be done with Period Cube by now, I honestly hoped that I would be, but life has been getting in the way of my gaming. I’m still working my way through the game ( a full review is still a ways off), but I’ve already cleared four routes and I have more than a few thoughts about the game… namely, WTF is with this MC?!! Plus, it’s good to get my ranting out of the way now… There may be some spoilers, but since I’m still playing through the game, there shouldn’t be any major plot reveals…

grow up

*claps hands* I’m still dealing with a lot of real life…stuff, so aside from a few otome game updates, this blog has been kind of dead. I want to say that next week won’t be the same, but… I’m not one to make promises I know I can’t keep, so I’ll try to post a bit, but I’ll plan to be back full steam ahead starting in June.

Let’s Show Our Support for False Elegy!

Edit (6/4): The Kickstarter for this game failed to achieve the necessary funds by the deadline. Production of the game is on hold until the developers feel that there is a viable market for it.

Hey, hey guys I’m back with yet another Kickstarter campaign! This time around, I’m spotlighting Team geNe6’s upcoming dark fantasy visual novel, False Elegy. I usually focus on otome games and GxB titles, but this game really stood out from the rest. False Elegy will appeal to a rather diverse audience drawing inspiration from both Western and Japanese media.

The game will be especially appealing to fans of the Fate/Stay series and Tokyo Ghoul which were influential to the developers during production.
