Open the coffee shop doors — and customers’ hearts — in a present-day alternate Seattle. Coffee Talks Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly introduces two new characters, Lucas the satyr who spends most of his time posting photos on his social media, and Riona the banshee who dreams of being a soprano. The beloved, fantastical customers from the previous game will also make their comeback in the new episode with new stories to tell and new drinks to order.
Customize each requested drink with a mixture of ingredients like hibiscus, butterfly pea, honey, milk, and more to make a standout latte they won’t soon forget. Become the barista everyone feels comfortable enough to talk to and lend them a much-needed ear.
Improve customers’ moods by serving them warm drinks complete with personalized latte art designed with an in-game fluid simulation. Relax in a soothing environment and cozy up for emotional warmth to the tunes of lo-fi chill hop beats. Explore various narrative arcs, concoct recipes with distinct combinations of ingredients, and help heal the souls of city denizens in dire need of conversation.
“Seeing the overwhelming passion for the first Coffee Talk and the eager anticipation of the fans for more from the game, we made the heartfelt decision to continue honoring Mohammad Fahmi’s legacy and expand the story and characters even further in Coffee Talk Episode 2,” shared Andrew Jeremy, Project Manager and Music Composer of Coffee Talk.
“Although the team had already worked together previously to bring the first Coffee Talk to life, it’s undeniable that we continued to face hurdles. It was the first time we collaborated in the midst of the pandemic, navigating entirely new methods of communication and workflow. Add to that a different writer, facing unique obstacles and challenges. Despite this, Junkipatchi, our new Narrative Designer, poured their heart and soul into the project, delivering exceptional work, with the help of our co-writer Anna Winterstein. We are truly delighted to work together for our second game,” he added.
