This week’s post will include links to the games and a brief synopsis, but let me stress that these are not reviews, but recommendations… so your mileage may vary! Now that that’s out of the way lets get on to this week’s list!!
Amnesia (2011)- Idea Factory
You awaken to find your memories gone. To learn the truth behind your amnesia, you’ll choose from five romantic paths, each its own world. With 20+ endings, can you write the lasting love story you deserve, or will your love and life come to an end?
Amnesia is an otome game from Japanese developer Idea Factory. Originally released in Japan for the PSP handheld system in 2011, with a vita port, Amnesia Memories released in 2013. In 2015, the Vita port was given an English language release. The game has five male love interests (Shin, Toma, Kent, Ikki, and Ukyo) with a total of 26 endings. Amnesia is unique for having a high number of bad endings, some of which feature major character deaths. There are also fun mini games in each route that expand on the gameplay experience.
*The game is also available for PS Vita, Android, and IOS (however the price is $29.99)
My Burning Heart – (2019)- Ertal Games
Our protagonist, Adnan, gets sold as a slave and, instead of being sent to work in the fields, as he expected, he ends up in a Sultan’s harem… Although they try to trick him with good words and promises of being well fed and no physical punishments, he decides to comply with the Sultan’s orders… but only while he plans his escape from the palace.
My Burning Heart is the newest game from BL game developer Ertal Games and it draws inspiration from 1001 Nights. There are currently 3 male love interests, one of which is the “villain” of the game. Each route has its own branching storyline with one Bad and one Good ending (the villain route only has a Good ending). There is some steamy content, all CGs are uncensored and some of the Bad endings feature some non-con content.
Jack-In-A-Castle (2019)- Nemlei
Toyboxian’s king has gone missing, and the kingdom’s castle has become warped. Marion the Marionette is sent by his village elder to investigate. He becomes a servant at the warped castle, working under the stand-in ruler Jack.
Jack is a jack-in-the-box with a personality as unexpected and delightful as a landmine.
Along the way Marion will also meet Bunnie, a bubbly bunny plushie. As well as his unlikely friend, Sylvester, a refined and aristocratic music box. Together they have set out with the common goal of finding the whereabouts of the king.
Explore the story from different points of view, and discover how many ways you can screw things up!
