Hello, hello, hello! I’m back again to bring you guys yet another Kickstarter campaign! Summer is here, and with it comes the promise of even more otome visual novel goodness, this time I’m going to cover the super sweet, Caramel Mokacchino.
Penelope Miller (Penny), an 18 year old girl, moves back to the city she grew up in to attend college.
When she first arrives, she finds lodging with the Salviatis, a family who has been friends with her own for many years, but she soon begins to feel out of place. Determined to find the means to live on her own, she applies for a part-time job at Caramel Mokaccino, a café close to campus that is owned by a member of the Salviati family.
As she settles into her new life, she meets lots of new friends, both at school and at work. As time goes by she gets to know them better, and helps each of them to solve the problems that arise in their daily lives.
Your job as the player is to guide Penny through this new life, to help her learn more about the people around her and grow close to them, to learn about the troubles in their lives. It won’t be easy, but with care it may lead to new bonds of friendship. Or perhaps even romance?
From what I can see Caramel Mokaccino looks like a stat based otome game, similar to games like Always Remember Me and Winter In Fairbrook. But, the art looks gorgeous and the gameplay looks fun, so I’m interested to see the polished game when it’s released.
Players can choose for a number of activities (study, work out, clean, etc) for Penny to participate in during her free time. In addition to romancing/befriending five eligible bachelors, players will also maintain a part-time job waitress job at Caramel Mokaccino.
This game met it’s $ $9,205 goal just this past weekend! Right now they are working on reaching the Stretch Goals (all of which sound super awesome)! They even offer a download link for their Alpha Demo right there on the Kickstarter page, which was developed during the 2016 NaNoRenO cycle. It features completed main sprites, placeholder sprites, and rough sketches, strictly prelim stuff (but it gives you a general idea of the game). AppleCider has set a tentative release date for late 2016/early 2017.
So PLEASE check out the Kickstarter, HERE, and lend your support. There is a little less than a monthleft and they are currently at $10,539, every little bit helps! I’ve planning on donating at the $15 level…I know it’s not much, I’m still job hunting, but I really do want to help out!
