Blog Updates… I’m not dead yet

Hey Hey Guys, I wanted to post something real quick about the lack of activity these past few days. I’m not on hiatus or anything, but it’s been pretty hectic on my end.

Last weekend I covered Otakon 2019 for MANGA.TOKYO, had a blast, but I’m outlining all those articles for them rn. On top of that I moved into my new place on Sunday and all of my stuff is either in boxes or MIA… so, I’ve been slowly getting everything sorted and it is a pain in the ass.

I spent the whole day at a baseball game for a company event at work… and I’m on my way to a speed dating event rn, but I wanted to touch base with you guys and let you know what’s up.

So, this season, I’m watching Fire Force, which I kinda like, despite my aversion to shounen anime. Hinawa is my new megane bae!

I’m continuing Carole & Tuesday, and the music in this series is amazing! If you’re not already watching it, you need to get on it ASAP!!

Game wise, I’m playing Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly and so far it isn’t my favorite otome game, but I like the mini game and Yamato and Monshiro are cute… so it’s not a total loss. I only really play PBB during my hour and a half bus ride to work in the morning and afternoon, so my progress varies…

I’m also playing the BL game, Chess of Blades, and I love it so far, mystery, intrigue, and a historical setting… it’s everything I crave in one place… But, I only play when I get home (if I have time) so it’s been a really slow go…

Well, that’s it for the updates and stuff… things should be back to normal starting on Monday…

I’ve Kinda Been Neglecting My Blog, Again…

Hey Hey all you wonderful Heroes and Travelers out there, it’s been awhile since I posted anything on this blog (my failed attempt at completing the 30 Day Haikyuu Challenge aside) and for that I really don’t have any excuses, I just didn’t feel like writing. I’ve been running this blog for 2 years now and I finally hit that point where I don’t get that itch to write everyday. Don’t worry, I’m not abandoning this blog, I’m just not really playing games as much as I used to and while I still love them, I’m not going to force myself to play a game for the sake of writing reviews. Been there, done that, and it’s no fun.

So, when the mood strikes me, I’ll write a review, if you have a game you want me to check out or review, I strongly urge you to utilize my contact page (I do read all the emails). However, please be patient with me, I work full time during the week at a real estate firm and in my free time I am crocheting dolls for my Etsy Store or procrastinating writing articles for MANGA.TOKYO (I just picked up Blood Blockade Battlefront season 2 for them). Plus, I have shit going on in my real life that needs attending to… *ahem* I mean, I’m out here trying survive adulthood, a difficult task to say the least.

Since, I don’t want this post to just be about my lack of actual content, I will commit to writing at least two posts this week. Now, whether they’ll be reviews or not is still up in the air (chances are one will be), so keep your eyes peeled for those.

I’m also playing around with the idea of doing a post series featuring my various crochet projects, give a bit of insight into my process…. Would you guys be interested in that?

Nice Job Breaking It, Hero is 2 Years Old!!

I am terrible with dates and anniversaries, so imagine my surprise when I received a WordPress notification that my Blogiversary was on August 18th and not the 11th like I thought… whoops.  The 11th was actually the day I made my first ever blog post, so it’s still a pretty big milestone in my book! Though, this post is super late (August is almost over)…

I can’t believe I managed to keep this blog running for two years, and I am super grateful to to each and every one of you folks out there for sticking with me through all of the ups and downs. I always say this, but you guys are the real MVPs here at Nice Job Breaking It, Hero and I am in awe of the outpouring of love you guys have shown me over these past two years. This blog is a labor of love, I put my heart into everything that I write and it’s humbling to know that so many people appreciate my thoughts and opinions. I appreciate you all taking the time to not just read my awkwardly random ramblings, but for also all the likes and comments, I may not always respond, but just know, I look forward to them all…

Since this is my 2 year anniversary, I feel like I should have something spectacular planned, buuuuuuut, I was never one for planning things out, I’m more of a night before kind of gal…. So, I don’t exactly have anything special plan, though I guess this is a good enough time as any to announce that I’ll be doing the Haikyuu Challenge in September (thank Mel, she graciously brought it to my attention over on Twitter)! Thirty days of Haikyuu goodness, to celebrate my birthday month (and Tsukki’s B-day), so be on the look out for that next month. As for right now…. I guess I could share my blogging story and highlight some of my favorite blog posts.

I’m Still Alive, Tired, But Still Kickin’!

Hey Hey All You Wonderful Heroes and Travelers (gosh, it’s been awhile since I said that), I hope you guys didn’t miss me too much! This post signifies my official return to blogging, I meant to come back sooner, but, I quite liked the break so I wound up staying away much longer than I planned. Though, granted, I was still pretty active on Twitter and Instagram. I’ve also been crocheting up a storm for my Etsy store, Poke’s Amigumuri Pals, and on top of that I’ve been out and about, exploring and growing, which left very little time for blogging…. but, I am back and I hope to resume blogging as usual next week. In the meantime, I’ll be posting a few Kickstarter campaign posts and some demo reviews (hopefully I can get them done before Otakon).

What’s New

  • My Blogiverary is on the horizon (August 11th), apparently, I’ve been blogging for two years, though, I could have sworn it was much longer than that… I plan on doing something special for that. What that special something will be, I have no clue, but whatever it is, it will be epic!!
  • I opened up my very own Etsy store, Poke’s Amigumuri Pals for all my amigurumi (crochet) dolls. The store specializes in faceless dolls (but, I can give them faces if someone is dead set on it). I am open to commissions and custom orders, so if you have a game character, anime character, or whatever that you want to own in doll form, just shoot me a message and I can work with you!
  • Most of you guys should know that I am a writer for the anime news site, MANGA.TOKYO, which also contributed to the blogging hiatus (just a bit though). I’ve written a few articles for them so far, and there are more on the way (just gotta find the time to crank em out), but the real news is that I’ll be covering the anime convention, Otakon as press for the site this weekend! This is my first time doing something like this, and while I’m nervous as hell, it should be a lot of fun, so I’m looking forward to it!
  • Added a Ko-fi button to the sidebar, because this blog is a labor of love, I don’t receive any money for anything that I write here (though occasionally a dev will throw me a review copy of a game) I come out of pocket for everything, so if you like what you see consider donating. But, it’s optional, so don’t feel obligated in any way!

Slowly Chuggin’ Along

I’m one of those, 9-5 office workers now, so the bulk of my blogging and crocheting gets done either during the commute to and from work or when I get home (right before I conk out for the day). That being said, I’m still going to be a bit slow with updates, but I’ll do my best! Just bear with me for a bit longer.

hug

I’d like to thank all of you for your love and support over these past few months, shit really hit the fan for me at one point, and while everything isn’t smooth sailing, I can honestly say that I am happy and a lot of that has to do with you guys! Every comment, tweet, message, and email means a lot to me (yes, I do read them, even if I don’t respond), so thank you guys for being so super special awesome!!
