The Gentlemanly Teacher Who Stole My Heart: After School Affairs-Hidetaka Sera

Available: Google Play | App Store | Amazon App Store

Let me preface this review by saying that I’m not  a fan of the gentlemanly types. I dunno, there’s something wrong about the perfect characters that just rubs me the wrong way. I try to like them, but they can be too perfect at times…Initially this was that kind of story in fact for the first few chapters I kept giving this route the never ending side eye of doom. Especially with all the not so subtle hints about forbidden romance…Really Voltage? Romeo and Juliet? Come on, you can do better than that!

But, after that…Mr. Sera’s route took an unexpected turn and I loved it! The plot twist was “unexpected”, but welcome! Hidetaka is downright princely, with a winning smile and dashing good looks. On top of that he’s a dedicated English teacher and a famous translator too, but one can’t help but wonder if there is something sinister behind that sweet smile of his…

The Strict Megane Teacher Who Stole My Heart: After School Affair- Shinichi Kagari Review

Available: Google Play | App Store | Amazon App Store

So after an unbearable amount of waiting and pinning, Voltage finally decided to release Shinichi Kagari’s route for After School Affairs…Okay, I know I’m exaggerating, but damnit he should have been the first released route to begin with! If you follow me on Twitter or Tumblr you’ll know I was none to pleased with the decision to release Shinichi after Rikiya…but it was totally worth the wait! I couldn’t have been more pleased with this strict megane math teacher, he was more than I could have hoped for and the MC *sigh* I couldn’t be more proud of her! After playing Amnesia I can’t tell you how happy I am to have an MC that talks…and to actually have a personality to boot, I could cry!

Shinichi is strict and meticulous when it comes to his job, expecting nothing less than perfection from his students and coworkers. He starts off with a huge stick up his butt, quick to criticize even the slightest mistake. But, he only pushes people he sees potential in, so I guess it’s coming from a good place. On the other hand his home life is a mess, he reminds me of Tsugumu Kido from Our Two Bedroom Story in that respect. He is definitely not as strict with his home as he is with his school affairs.

First Thoughts: After School Affairs

I usually don’t do this, but I figured for once, why not get ahead of the curve a little…Yesterday Voltage released a brand new game, After School Affairs! Am I excited about this game? Eh, not really, but that didn’t stop me from downloading it the minute it was available in the App store, like I do every Voltage game, good, bad, or indifferent.

Once again Voltage is taking us to school, however this time instead of being one of the students, we get the chance to play as a teacher?! I know right! We’ve finally graduated from high school romances to forbidden teacher romance! Not that I have a problem with their available high school romance stories, it’s just nice to play as an adult some times is all.
