Thrifty Gaming: Games That Won’t Blow Your Budget #93

Hey Blerdy Tribe! It’s Thrifty Thursday!! In a world where it’s all about the almighty dollar, sometimes it’s a little tough to make our pennies stretch enough to accommodate our hobbies. But, there are plenty of ways to balance your budget while still enjoying the things you love, you just have to be a little thrifty about it. So, I created Thrifty Gaming in order to spotlight some lesser known indie titles that are both entertaining an affordable.

If you’re a new follower or someone who has been following since my Nice Job Breaking It Hero days and have been gone for awhile, here’s a refresher… Thrifty Gaming, is a weekly post series where I spotlight three games/visual novels that are under $10.00. These can be mobile games, PC games, and a few times I have found some nice indie console titles too. The list used to focus on just otome games and romance visual novels, but after requests from a few readers I have since expanded to other gaming genres. I don’t include sales or limited time offers, each title has to be consistently priced at $10.00 or less without any promotions to be included in this line up.

Note, these are not reviews, rather recommendations so your mileage may vary with some of these titles. This week’s post will include a brief synopsis and links to each game so you can add them to your gaming library! You don’t have to break the bank to enjoy your hobbies, so save a little bread and check out this week’s thrifty gaming picks!

A New Don

A New Don is a short amare visual novel developed by Heiden and Z04 for NaNoRenO 2021. Take on the role of Fia, a young woman who suddenly finds herself the new leader of a crime family. Navigate Fia’s new life in the big city and get to know some members of your new crime family and foster relationship that could blossom into something more. Put careful who you trust, one wrong move could mean game over for our heroine. There are two romance routes, one for Andino, the previous Don’s right hand man and the other for Giacomo, the grandson of the previous Don. Each route comes with multiple endings, and yes, you can die in this game.

Symbiotic Love

Symbiotic Love is a coming-of-age yuri visual novel developed by Kikai Digital and serves as a prequel to their previously released title, Melancholy Love. The game is set in an all girl’s high school and follows the relationship between two young women who meet, become friends, and eventually become lovers. Watch as their relationship develops navigating the ups and downs of love and see what becomes of the pair as their relationship grows. The game features full Mandarin voice acting and takes roughly 2 hours to complete.

Seleos

Kore, a troubled noblewoman, meets Seleos, an oddly helpful deity. Can he be the one to resolve her problems?

-Synopsis

Seleos is a short fantasy visual novel developed by CirclePegasi for NaNoRenO 2021. Take on the role of Kore, a noblewoman struggling with the expectations of her status. While out riding in the forest, she encounters a strange entity who offers to help her with her troubles. Will you accept his aid? Your choices will change the course of Kore’s life forever. The game takes between 40 mins to 1 hour to complete and your choices will determine the course of the story.
