Happy New Year!! I took a bit of a break for the holidays so I could really spend quality time with my family. I only get to see them once a year so I like to make the most of my time with them when I do make the journey home. I got to spend a lot of time with my youngest brother and Mom, and I managed to get them both hooked on the Netflix series, You. I didn’t really write much when I was home, since I didn’t really feel up to it, however nothing gets you in the mood for writing like a 13 hour train ride. So, I was able to bang out a few posts on the journey home.
Most of 2019 was a bit hectic for me, what with me constantly switching jobs, which seriously stressed me the hell out. Thankfully the place I was contracting at made me an official offer just before the holidays, so I was able to close out 2019 on a high note! Having a full time job has really taken a huge weight off my shoulders and I really feel much more motivated to write now that I don’t have to worry about job security.
Content to Expect in 2020
There were a lot of things I wanted to accomplish in 2019 that kind of fell to the wayside, but now that things have finally stabilized I’m ready to hit the ground running in 2020. Before the break I ran a poll to gauge the kind of content you guys would like to see from me in 2020 and I wanted to take a moment to break down the results.
Most of you would like to see some non-written content and I will admit that I have played around with the idea of starting a podcast and maybe delving into video reviews for some games in addition to my written content. The only thing really holding me back are the logistics (and my crappy laptop). I definitely want to branch out from writing reviews and some of my friends have suggested I give making a podcast so it’s definitely a real possibility in the near future… I just have to work out how I want to go about starting one. I’ve also played around with doing ‘Let’s Plays’ buuut, I’d have to get a decent computer before that happens and that is still a ways off…
A nice chunk of you would like to see more interviews, and all I can say on that front is that I’m working on it! I’m going to revive the Behind the Games post series, I just haven’t had the time to draft questions. I’d also like to start including Q&A’s with my reviews of webcomics and other indie works, since it’s important to show these creators the same kind of love we show more established content creators.
To you guys that want me to stick with just the written stuff, trust me I’ll make sure to keep that coming in 2020 and maybe I’ll even be more consistent… I’m also working on two projects with other bloggers/vloggers/content creators. One is a revamped version of my Otome Debates segment, which kind of fell to the wayside. I’d like to turn it into an actual debate kind of set up with input from other otome games content creators. The second project is still in the early stages, but it also involves working with other otome games content creators, fans, and reviewers. I’ve secured some folks for the project and I’m waiting to hear back from two more, but I’d like to have that project out before the end of January… so stay tuned for more news on that later! Also to the single soul who wrote in a vote for more BL content, trust me it’s coming!!
I’m going to work on being more social online in 2020, I suck at keeping up with social media, but I plan on being more active this year.
What to Expect this Week
So, as a show of good faith I’m going to list out the posts that I have planned for the next few days since my hiatus is officially over and I want to get back to being consistent with my writing. Also, I figure it’s not such a bad thing to be more open about what’s coming out here on Blerdy Otome, so you all know what to expect.

Wednesday – 10 Reasons You Should Be Watching Haikyu!!
Friday – Nothing Planned
I’m gonna make an effort this year to be more active on this blog, since I was kind of slacking in 2019. I’m not gonna burn myself out, but I’ll definitely try to keep the new content coming at a manageable rate in 2020. I’m gonna keep some of my content from previous years and throw in a couple of new things and I’ll even revive some stuff I let slide.
As always, please bear with me while I get my shit together and thank you guys for sticking with me through all the ups and downs over the years. Blerdy Otome is what it is because of you super special awesome readers and I can’t express how much your support means to me… and on that note…
