This week’s post will include links to the games and a brief synopsis, but let me stress that these are not reviews, but recommendations… so your mileage may vary! Now that that’s out of the way lets get on to this week’s list!!
Witch Way (2017)- Andrew Gleeson
Cost: $4.00
Find your wand, save the bunnies and solve your way out of the well!
-Synopsis
Witch Way is an indie 2D side-scrolling platform/puzzle with about 2.5 hours of gameplay. There are several levels and puzzles to solve and while each “puzzle room” may seem like a standalone experience the deeper you delve into the game the more interconnected the gameplay is.
Purrfect Date (2019)- Bae Team
Cost: $9.99
As Cat Island’s newest arrival, it’s not long before you realize something’s seriously amiss, or should we say… amorous! A blend of mystery, intrigue and wickedly black humor, will you discover your Purrfect Date before it’s too late? Remember, curiosity killed the cat…
-Synopsis
Purrfect Date is a comedic dating sim/ visual novel with over 10 hours of gameplay, and a total of 18 alternative endings. This is a self aware parody dating sim, where you play as one of six human researchers and the love interests are all of the feline persuasion. Think Hatoful Boyfriend, but with cats… There’s a bit of a stat raising element to the gameplay that gives players the chance to switch between Romance, Research, and Recon events.
The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (2018)- Blackcross & Taylor
Cost: £2.99
Maddie is looking forward to spending the summer before she begins college working with her best friend, Bridgette, as crew on the luxury cruise ship M.S. Andromache.
So what if its maiden voyage is to retrace the route of its ill-fated sister ship, the S.S. Cassandra, which disappeared inside the perilous Bermuda Triangle almost 100 years before? The media will hype anything for a story and the liner company is only too happy for the extra publicity.
But when things aboard ship start to go awry, Maddie soon realises she’ll have more to deal with than demanding passengers and annoying co-workers. Could she be the key to changing events set in motion almost a century ago, or will the mystery of the Devil’s Triangle claim her too?
-Synopsis
The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea is a mystery, adventure, romance visual novel with male and female love interests. The game has three romance routes (2 male, 1 female) and a total of 8 endings. The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea has the same basic gameplay as most visual novels (ie. reading and in-game choices).
