Originally released in Japan as a free to play experience, this new remastered version features updated assets to bring this game a wider global audience. The release of Our Burial Dolls Remastered marks ROSEVERTE’s first collaboration with an indie developer, a move that promises to bring more unique stories to new players. This will be a multi-platform release with the Steam version set to release worldwide on January 29, 2026, with console releases (PS4/PS5 and Switch) launching on the same date in Japan and Asia, followed by North America and Europe on January 30, 2026.

Our Burial Dolls Remastered is a Japanese horror visual novel rebuilt in Unity from an original Japanese free game. Set in a secluded mountain village, the story follows the quiet aftermath of a ritual and the way it continues to affect those involved. The game emphasizes text, sound, and atmosphere over spectacle, offering a restrained and reflective horror experience.
In Mitono, a remote mountain village with only a handful of households, every child must undergo a mysterious ritual known as Warawa-Tomurai. Sixth-graders Yuuma and Honoka take part in the ceremony just before the village begins to disperse.
Yuuma’s family soon moves to the city, while Honoka remains behind due to unforeseen circumstances. Separated, the two begin to uncover the secrets behind the ritual.
Within the sanctum where something inhuman resides, the children are drawn in—toward a painful fate.
