Thrifty Gaming: Games That Won’t Blow Your Budget #113

It’s been awhile since the last Thrifty Gaming post, sorry! But, I’m back with more thrifty game buys for gamers on a budget! Every penny counts, and you shouldn’t have to go broke for your hobbies, so here are three games under $10 that you can add to your play list!

Note, these are not reviews, rather recommendations so your mileage may vary with some of these titles. This week’s post will include a brief synopsis and links to each game so you can add them to your gaming library! lycoris;lastwords is a short horror mystery visual novel developed by robobarbie for the Ludum Dare 53. The game was made in 72 hours and consists of about 15-30 minutes of gameplay. Get to know three mysterious recently departed spirits as you usher them into the afterlife. Comfort them as they come to terms with their death also complete short short point and click word cloud mini games.

Fast-forward to years later, as Lucinda returns to her hometown to get married, she is shocked to see her old friend again. But as she delves deeper into the past, she realizes that her friend is not who they seem to be, and their reunion brings with it a trail of unsettling secrets and revelations related to their separation and to her own destiny.

A Kiss From Death is a mystery fantasy indie visual novel developed by Gongon Studio. A chance meeting with a mysterious child in the cemetery, develops into a short-lived childhood friendship. Now an adult Lucinda is to be married, but lingering doubts and a surprise reunion could change her life forever. Guide Lucinda towards one of three paths, but remember, your choices have consequences. The game consists of about 30 minutes of gameplay and has one “pursuable” romantic option.

Everything changes for him the day a friendly tattoo artist named Shay comes into his shop to sketch the tulips.

Tattoos and Tulips is a slice-of-life boys love visual novel developed by Meant to Bee Studios for Blossom VN Jam 2023. The game follows Chrys a grumpy florist and his budding relationship with the friendly tattoo artist, Shay. The game features a full cast of diverse characters, partial English voice acting, and 8 gorgeous CGs. The story unfolds over 17 chapters and includes a short epilogue.
