Thrifty Gaming: Games That Won’t Blow Your Budget #17

Hello all you wonderful Heroes and Travelers, it’s Thrifty Thursday and that means another Thrifty Gaming, the weekly post series where I spotlight three otome games/visual novels for gamers on a budget. Whatever your financial situation, I’m here to bring you affordable games that won’t break the bank!! All of the games on this list are $10 or less (does not include limited time offers and sale items), so no more weepy wallets!

This week’s post will include links to the games and a brief synopsis, but let me stress that these are not reviews, but recommendations… so your mileage may vary! Now that that’s out of the way lets get on to this week’s list!!

Daphné is at a dead-end. She’s unsatisfied by her personal and professional life. So, when she inherits an old family house in a remote part of the country, she jumps at the opportunity to start anew.

Does she decide to embrace her legacy or does she hang to her old way of life?

*Note: The game is available on Steam and IOS, however, the retail price for those platforms is $12.99!*

Along the Edge is an interactive mystery, suspense visual novel from Nova Box. This is an immersive game where each choice effects not only the course of the story but the personality, mood, and appearance of the protagonist. There are over 60 endings and 28 achievements to unlock. The game can be read in both English and French.

20 bill wives

20 Billion Wives (2017)- Masukachi Inc.

The wives have returned! All you can marry again!
A game to get married to as many girls as you like!

20 Billion Wives  is an addictive tap game and the sequel to 10 Billion Wives, where players can tap their way to love! With each tap, players earn Love Points which can be used to unlock adorable wives that will scroll across your screen. Choose from a wide range of unique wife types (ie. Zombie Wife, Maid Wife, Tsundere Wife, and more). Upgrade your wives with themed gifts and items.  This is a great way to kill time while waiting on the train or in between classes! But, don’t worry, if you aren’t into cute wives there’s another version of the game that features cute husbands! Check out 10 Billion Husbands (Android and IOS) !

number days

Number Days-Sim Date (2012)- Pacthesis

Cost: Free

Flash Game (Web Browser)

It’s the grand opening day of the new amusement park in town, but trouble rises when you find yourself trapped inside along with a cast of intriguing characters. Find a way out, find the truth, and find your way into the hearts of others.

Number Days-Sim Date is a web browser based flash game, that was originally posted on DeviantArt by Pacthesis back in 2012. While the game does feature some romantic elements, the game is more of an adventure/strategy game, with mystery and suspense thrown in for extra measure. There are five romanceable characters (4 male, 1 female) and a total of 8 unique endings! There are a lot of puzzles and mini games to solve in this cute visual novel.

  1. Yay! Free games! The premise for 20 Billion Wives sounds ridiculous. Wow, so funny! Thanks for informing us of these as usual! 🙂
