Otome gamers, its a new year and with it the first big otome announcement of 2024! Eastasiasoft announced during their New Year 2024 Showcase that they will be working with Idea Factory to publish Hakuoki: Chronicles of Wind and Blossom on the Nintendo Switch on August 1, 2024. This “definitive” version of the game will collect Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms and Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds into a single revised release.
Hakuoki: Chronicles of Wind and Blossom will be available both digitally and physically via standalone game and an exclusive Limited Edition. The digital release is expected August 1, 2024. While, the physical standalone and Limited editions will be available for preorder through Playasia this week at starting at 10:00am ET / 7:00am PT / 3:00pm UK on Thursday, January 11th.

Hakuoki is Finally Coming to the Switch!
Well, it’s happened—Hakuoki is now in the running for the game with the most localizations under its belt. This has to be one of the most re-released otome titles in the west, making the journey from the PSP to the Switch. Hakuoki is the gateway otome for many in the fandom and its constant re-releases over the years speaks to it’s longevity within the otome community. The limited edition looks phenomenal, with some great merch befitting such an iconic series.
I am excited to see that new gamers will have the chance to enjoy this “definitive” version of the game on the Switch… but, I can’t help but wish maybe we could also get a fresh Hakuoki localization. Maybe, and I’m just spit ballin here, Hakuoki Sweet School Life?
