When we typically think of anime weapons we think of big guns and even bigger swords…
Well I went in a completely different direction, and picked a rather unconventional anime weapon. So my pick for my favorite anime weapon/gear is…
Haruko’s left-handed Rickenbacker bass guitar model 4001 from the anime series, Fooly Cooly (FLCL). This is one of the most versatile anime weapons I’ve seen in a long time, and it’s not even a real weapon.
This thing is like the Swiss Army Knife of anime weapons! Throughout the series Haruko uses it a club, a surf board, a bat, a machine gun, a rocket launcher, and oddly enough as a musical instrument! Yeah after she’s done recklessly swinging it around she actually sits down and plays it like a normal bass. And you know what, it holds up pretty well for something that is constantly being smashed into things… In the show its primarily use is to transport items across space by way of N.O. channels which are created when she wacks individuals with N.O. abilities, like Naota.
This is by far one of the coolest weapons ever, I mean come on, it’s a bass guitar that can create portals across dimensions! On top of that it’s virtually indestructible, showing almost no wear and tear, even after causing some considerable damage throughout the series.
