The Guy I Like is a Rude Pop Star: Scandal in the Spotlight-Iori Enjo Main Story

Kicking off Megane Madness Month reviews is none other than the evil prince himself, Iori Enjo! This was the very first route that I ever played in Scandal in the Spotlight and the second route Voltage released. He just seemed like the better of the two options available at the time, and in hindsight, I don’t regret choosing to play Iori’s route before Kyohei’s route. In fact, if I’d played this route second, I don’t think I would have liked the guy as much as I did…

iori

Iori is the kind of guy that just grows on you… But, even I have to admit that most folks won’t like him very much. He’s not the easiest guy to love, and even I, a self proclaimed lover of cool intellectuals and ice queens, had a hard time swallowing some of the stuff he said throughout the route. But, I stuck with it and the pay off was worth it?!

Falling for the Stoic Leader: Dangerous Seduction- Kentaro Inui

So while I was away at Katsucon, Voltage Inc released the final route in their newest (at least for the English market) app, Dangerous Seduction. I’m not gonna lie, but I am not a huge fan of the mature romance options like Kentaro Inui, so I went into this route not really expecting much…

Boy was I wrong! This fills in the gaps left by the other routes and we finally, FINALLY get to see the face behind the organization after the MC! We also get to learn a bit more about the MC’s father and his connection to the team… especially, their enigmatic leader, Kentaro Inui. If you want a general overview of Dangerous Seduction, click HERE, it’s covers the basic premise of the game and includes links to the other character reviews I wrote for the game.

[Guest Blogger] Jilted: Men of Yoshiwara – Hayabusa | Main Story Review

Hello Heroes and Travelers, today we have a special guest post from my blogging buddy and newest otoge recruit, Hazel from over at Archi-Anime!! This is her first ever otome game review and I am so happy that I was able to drag her into otoge hell with me! *rubs hands together* So join me in welcoming her to Nice Job Breaking It, Hero and without further ado, I’m gonna turn things over to Hazel!!

Good afternoon bloggers! Hazelyn here from the anime blog Archi-Anime. Today Naja and I are bringing you a very special collaboration post! This will be my first Otome game review ever, and a very first collaboration post. Hooray for firsts! I’m a bit late to the otome game, but hey, better late than never!

A few months ago I befriended Naja, whom as of late has become a really good friend of mine, I would like to say! I call her the otome queen and my Otome/BL Senpai. I have much to learn, and she has already dragged me down into backlog hell with the amount of games that must are to be played.

I’ve always wanted to write a review of an otome game, so when Naja senpai approached me to write a collaboration on a route I was both ecstatic and flattered she wanted to do this. She had already gotten me hooked onto Voltage games (bye money!) and I was still fairly a n00b to otome. So far I’ve been spoiled with a lot of great routes! So we decided to try a game neither of us had barely any experience with. I had played one route on the mobile version (Iroha), but I ended up buying it on steam during the Winter Steam Sale because it was more cost-efficient than paying per route.

Men of Yoshiwara.pngThe game we ended up choosing was The Men of Yoshiwara: Kikuya. There are a total of two Men of Yoshiwara games, the other being The Men of Yoshiwara: Oghiya, in which our MC is vastly different-but more on the Kikuya version of her later.

The Stubborn Prince That Stole My Heart: Be My Princess- Joshua Lieben

Be My Princess is one of my all time favorite Voltage games, I have played each of the routes in this game numerous times over the years and they never get old. So, because I’m a bit of a nostalgia kick and because today, Jan. 31st is the birthday of my favorite prince, I figured he’d be the best character to kick off my nostalgia fueled Voltage reviews… I wish, I could say this was going to be a proper review like the others I’ve written in the past, but I absolutely adore this man, so I’m afraid I won’t be able to contain my fangirling this time around… sorry, not sorry 😛

josh

If you read my Top 10 Voltage Guys list, you’ll know that Prince Joshua Lieben from Be My Princess is one of my first Voltage guys and my third favorite guy overall, but at the end of the day, Josh is the number one prince in my heart!! He’s an awkward and stubborn mess and even after all these years I still find myself falling for him all over again!

Falling for an Eccentric Back-Alley Doctor: Dangerous Seduction- Haruma Fujioka

*clears throat* It’s about damn time! I have been waiting for this route to come out for what seems like forever and Voltage just kind of slipped it in under the radar… really?! If I hadn’t checked the Voltage FB page the other day, I might have missed this one…

haruma

Haruma Fujioka is like an over sexed version of Ichthys from Star Crossed Myth, which given the character bio above, was wholly unexpected. It’s no secret that I don’t like flirty characters, at the best of times, but when you also have the flirt moonlight as his own comic relief….*sigh* If you want a general overview of Dangerous Seduction, click HERE, it’s covers the basic premise of the game and includes links to the other character reviews I wrote for the game.
