Join us in this little adventure following Alex through his first days at St. Michaels, an exclusive all-male boarding school during the British Edwardian era.
He will meet new friends, will face an unexpected danger and, who knows? Perhaps he will even find true love. It’s up to you whether Alex leaves St. Michaels with a happy ending or with a broken heart… or still worse.
Ertal Games’ debut title, offers a nice change of pace from some of the other BL/yaoi games on the market. Set in 1910 at an elite all-boys boarding school in Britain, A Hand in the Darkness follows Alex White as he attempts to acclimate himself to the rigid environment of St. Michaels, while also coming to terms with his budding feelings for one of his three male roommates. Amidst the confusion, Alex is also the target of a string of accidents that escalate as the school year goes on.
Hey Hey Heroes, Travelers, and Wandering NPCs, I have something special for you guys! A little while ago the creator of the fantasy Bara comic MEN+MONSTERS reached out to me about possibly covering their comic here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero. As a fan of BL media I am always down for something new, and I will admit it has been awhile since I read any Bara, so I was definitely excited to check the comic out. So, imagine my surprise when Aero Zero offered to send me a print copy of MEN+ MONSTERS!
MEN+MONSTERS Volume 1 By Aero Zero
Title: MEN + MONSTERS Volume 1 Author / Artist: Aero Zero Publisher: MEN PLUS MONSTERS Genre: Bara / Fantasy / Mature / Graphic Novel Released: 2014 (online), 2015 (print) Length: 120 pages
Volume one contains the first 3 chapters of MEN+MONSTERS
SUMMARY:A teratophile knight, his monster lover, and their robot companion go on an adventure to mend the rift between monsters, humans and robots with every sword they have. Hijinks ensue!
MEN+MONSTERS follows the exploits of Lex, an ex-monster hunter and his robot companion, Akilas after they encounter a wounded monster, Silas, while out on patrol. Lex becomes smitten with Silas, engaging in some super sexy fun time with him, despite humanity’s general dislike of monsters. In order to avoid persecution the trio set out in search of a place more accepting of their unusual relationship (note, this is a POLY relationship between a human, a monster, and a robot). Shenanigans and orgies ensue as the fuck their way to world peace. I shit you not, they literally fuck their way to world peace. And that is pretty much the long and short of it.
*NOTE: This is a NSFW 18+ Bara comic, so this review will have some NSFW images. Because I didn’t want to ruin AERO ZERO’s beautiful artwork, I DID NOT censor any of the images.
Edit: A few months ago Black Monkey Pro disbanded, so Sleepover and all of there other content is no longer available for purchase, but feel free to still give this review a read! For the truely adventurous folks out there, I’m sure you can find a copy of the game online somewhere…
Sleepover is an 18+ PC BL visual novel from Black Monkey Pro an international BL artist circle. The game tells the story of Haruyuki Kano, a young man who has secretly been in love with his best friend, Sato Hideaki (Aki) since they were children. Not wanting to ruin their friendship, Kano has done his best to keep his feelings to himself. But when a freak rain storm forces Aki to spend the night at his house, Kano finds himself with a once in a lifetime opportunity. Will Kano finally tell Aki how he feels or will he be content being “just friends”? Whatever you choose, Aki and Kano’s relationship will never be the same again!
You asked for more BL, so here it is… The things I do for my fellow BL/yaoi fans out there… I kid, I actually bought this game a few months ago on a whim, but I never got around to playing it until now. There are two versions of the game: the Uncensored version which is $29.99 and the Censored version which is $14.99. So, if you are interested in the game, I strongly urge you to purchase it from Black Monkey directly.Black Monkey Pro disbanded, the game is no longer available for purchase!
*Disclaimer: I don’t own the images used in this review, all CGs and screenshots belong to Black Monkey. Since this game is NSFW there will be some NSFW images after this point. I tried my best to hide some of the naughty bits, but… *shrugs* you’ve been warned!
It has really been a long time since I last picked up this game. DRAMAtical Murder and the Koujaku reviews were my first ever reviews on this blog, and here I am almost seven months later writing another one. Boy has the time flown by…my only hope is that I’ve improved some since those first reviews (at least I think I have). I have since written an updated review of DRAMAtical Murder, which can be found, HERE. After muddling through Koujaku’s route, I set my sights on Noiz… But, I was so overwhelmed by how dull Koujaku’s route was that I put DMMd on the back burner until I could forget about it. Well it took seven months, and here I am finally ready to give DMMd another shot!
I did not expect to love this route as much as I did, but oh boy did I ever! Noiz is hands down my favorite route of the game! Noiz is the creep who drive by Rhymes Aoba in the common route. At first his blunt attitude rubbed me the wrong way, but the more I played, the more I began to like this socially awkward bunny!
**Disclaimer: I don’t own these images, they belong to Nitro+chiral…and this goes without saying, but there will be some character related spoilers under the cut and one or two NSFW images in this post (censored) you have been warned**
This is an exciting post for me, not only is this My 100th Post, but DRAMAtical Murder was the first game I ever reviewed on this blog! So this post is a really special post! I actually went back and looked at my review from back then, and I can say with confidence that I’ve actually gotten better at writing reviews since then. So here I am seven months later and I’m finally getting back to the game that started it all. Hopefully, I can do this game justice by writing a proper review…
DRAMAtical Murder is a 2012 Nitro+chiral sci-fi boys love visual novel. The game was given an official English language release by Jast Blue (the BL subsidiary of Jast USA). If you are familiar with Nitro+chiral’s other works, you’ll know that they have a flair for “dramatic” and “gruesome” endings, so consider yourself warned. I first found out about this game while watching a Let’s Play for Hatoful Boyfriend (talk about two different worlds), but during the video someone suggested that the next “Let’s Play” should be DMMD. No one else seemed to know what game they were talking about and even the person who’d suggested it was pretty vague on the concept. The only thing anyone knew for sure, was that it was a BL visual novel and that the bad endings were bloody.
Blerdy Otome is an otome games and visual novel review site that runs on Black Girl Magic and Dreams. While I mostly focus on romance themed games, I’ve been known to cover a wide range of nerdy and otaku themed topics.
So, step right up and prepare your heart! Let’s talk about otome games!!
