F#@k, Marry, Kill Otome Edition – Kissed by the Baddest Bidder

Hey Blerdy Tribe, here’s another healthy dose of quality content here on Blerdy Otome! Another edition of Fuck, Marry, Kill: Otome Edition hot off the presses for your reading pleasure! For those of you that didn’t play this game as a kid, the basic premise is this:

One person poses three names of people known to someone else (either people known in their personal lives or of celebrities). The other person then has to decide which of the three they would kiss (or fuck, in more mature versions of the game… like this one), which one they would marry, and which one they would kill.

The rules~

I’m cutting the middle man and just using the love interest lineup from otome games to answer three sacred, age old questions—Which otome guy would I fuck? Which otome guy would I marry? Which otome guy would I kill? This time around I’m looking at the boys of Kissed by the Baddest Bidder!

Diverse Games to Keep an Eye Out for in 2022

Hey there Blerdy Tribe, it’s a brand new year and there have been some huge strides within the gaming community. Indie games are becoming more prominent, with more mainstream sites covering them much more frequently than they have in the past. But, for me the most exciting is the shift towards more visibility for traditionally underrepresented groups in games! Don’t get me wrong, there is still a ways to go, but, I’m happy to see that there has been an effort to create more representative games and a lot of that has to do with a diverse creators stepping in to create games that reflect their own experiences, identities, and cultures.

As a Black gamer I am always on the look out for diverse games, so once again I did a call for games with planned 2022 release dates that feature characters and stories centered around often underrepresented groups–and as always the community provided!

Thank you to everyone who sent me their projects or shared the tweet–you guys are the real MVPs! So, I spent some time shifting through all the responses and checking out game pages for this post and y’all I am excited for all of these games! If you’re like me and you’ve been craving more diversity in your games, this is the list for YOU!

Best Otome Games of 2021

2021 has been a fantastic year for Western otome fans with a ton of new titles making their English language debut. Not only that, but publishers like PQube and Moonchime have stepped into the otome localization ring with great new releases–crime noir, BUSTAFELLOWS and the indie comedy, Suki Da. On top of that long dormant, Idea Factory International surprised the otome community with their big return, bringing fans Cupid Parasite! And with the end of the year right around the corner, I wanted to reach out to the otome community and see what games they thought were the best otome game localizations of 2021.

So, for this list, I wanted to look specifically at otome games that were localized in English in 2021–I’ll do a separate list for indie games at a later date. I’m also restricting this list to official localizations, so no fan translations or patches. And finally, I also included my picks for the best otome game of 2021 at the end of the post!

Tokyo Love Hustle Suzumu Mado Main Story 1 Review

Suzumu Mado is the first pursuable character in Voltage Inc.’s Love Choice game, Tokyo Love Hustle. He’s a money hungry fake Medium at Mado Psychics and your new boss. Suzumu is a very different character from the usual alpha male LIs Voltage typically releases at launch–in a good way.

Story

“Wondering if I’m not so bad after all?”

When there is no template in life or love anything can happen…

“Love is freaking stupid.”

Your new job is at Mado Psychics, and your boss is a total jerk. Unless… he’s not all that bad?

“You can stop second guessing yourself. I am all bad.”
