Doki Doki Dollmaker is an upcoming slice-of-life comedy boys love game developed by Karitsa, with art by Deji (who I LOVE). In the game you play as a Lyle, a young man still coming to terms with the loss of his parents. To help cope with his grief, Lyle makes five dolls who through a little magic, suddenly come to life—so it’s basically a BL version of Nameless the one name you must recall.
A Kickstarter campaign for the game was launched a short while ago and to go along with that a short demo was released! This is going to be a commercial release and the final version of the game will be $20. I was curious about the concept and I gave the demo a go and it’s super cute! So here are my thoughts on the demo!!
Project: Perfectly Normal is an indie action-comedy boys love visual novel developed by Peaceful Pastel. In the game you play as a retired killer for hire, who is tasked with his toughest mission yet—navigating the ups and downs of a normal life. The game was originally intended to be a part of a one-month game jam, but during development was extended. After the go I’ve been having with boys love games, I am happy to say that Project: Perfectly Normal is just an all around sweet and wholesome game and a welcome reprieve from some of the… ah, questionable(?) boys love games I’ve been playing recently.
Hey Blerdy Tribe! It’s Thrifty Thursday!! In a world where it’s all about the almighty dollar, sometimes it’s a little tough to make our pennies stretch enough to accommodate our hobbies. But, there are plenty of ways to balance your budget while still enjoying the things you love, you just have to be a little thrifty about it. So, I created Thrifty Gaming in order to spotlight some lesser known indie titles that are both entertaining an affordable.
If you’re a new follower or someone who has been following since my Nice Job Breaking It Hero days and have been gone for awhile, here’s a refresher… Thrifty Gaming, is a weekly post series where I spotlight three games/visual novels that are under $10.00. These can be mobile games, PC games, and a few times I have found some nice indie console titles too. The list used to focus on just otome games and romance visual novels, but after requests from a few readers I have since expanded to other gaming genres. I don’t include sales or limited time offers, each title has to be consistently priced at $10.00 or less without any promotions to be included in this line up.
Note, these are not reviews, rather recommendations so your mileage may vary with some of these titles. This week’s post will include a brief synopsis and links to each game so you can add them to your gaming library! You don’t have to break the bank to enjoy your hobbies, so save a little bread and check this week’s thrifty gaming picks!
Exclusively Yours is the latest Otome Romance title to make its way to the Love 365 app. In the game you play as a young woman who is mistaken for her twin sister—a glamorous Executive Assistant at an elite advertising agency. Now she has to fake it till she makes it in the cutthroat business world… an exciting romance awaits!
I kind of fell off the Voltage bandwagon, a little while ago, but this newest release gave me nostalgic flashbacks to one of their older titles, Office Secrets. So I figure what’s the harm in playing through the prologue… and I dunno, I kinda like it. Exclusively Yours: An Office Affair was originally released in 2011 in Japan, so it seems Voltage is giving some of their older titles a fresh coat of paint in the Love 365 app and I’m here for it! So, I sat down and played the prologue for Exclusively Yours and as always, I have some thoughts…
EDDA Café is a cute and heartwarming fantasy visual novel developed by digital artist, Pepapen for the Valentines VN Jam 2021. EDDA Café is short, no more than 30 minutes long, as of this writing, parts 1 and 2 are available for play with the part 3 coming at a later date.
Blerdy Otome is an otome games and visual novel review site that runs on Black Girl Magic and Dreams. While I mostly focus on romance themed games, I’ve been known to cover a wide range of nerdy and otaku themed topics.
So, step right up and prepare your heart! Let’s talk about otome games!!
