Blerdy Otome Monthly Recap – October 2020

Hey there Blerdy Tribe, it has been one hell of a year, but I hope you guys are all hanging in there! This year is just flying by and I know a lot of us are eager to say goodbye to this “interesting” year.

October was a surprising month for me, I had some great opportunities both personally and with my blog. I had a call with someone earlier this month that might pan out to a HUGE opportunity and I’m excited to see where this goes. I was invited to participate in the Wonder of Anime podcast and I had a BLAST with the host Lisa (I definitely made a new bestie), so definitely give that a listen: The Wonder of Anime: Blerdy Otome ft Naja B. I have even more stuff coming in November, but before we dive into the new, let’s look back at the month of October here on Blerdy Otome!!

October is upon us once again and even though we’re all stuck inside there’s still plenty of spooky good fun to get into at home. I’ve been using the extra time to check out a few new games and since Halloween is right around the corner, I figured this was a great time to spotlight four spooky romance visual novels to get you in the mood for the spooky season!

For Western otome fans, the opening trailer is the very first time we are exposed to a game and helps shape our opinion about an upcoming release. Sometimes it’s the only thing we have to go on—unless you know enough Japanese to read the official JP game pages, but for the rest of us in just a few moments, an otome opening can either make or break your experience before you even have the game in your hands. So, today I wanted to spotlight some of my favorite otome openings…
