This week’s post will include a brief synopsis and links to each game so you can add them to your gaming library! You don’t have to break the bank to enjoy your hobbies, so save a little bread and check this week’s thrifty gaming picks!
In Good Company (2020) – Cynthia
Cost: Free
A kinetic short story about what friends do in the face of adversity. Join the main character, Rocky, in learning about your associates as they struggle to come to terms with their snowed-in predicament!
-Synopsis
In Good Company is a short kinetic novel developed for My First Games Jam Winter 2020 by Cynthia. The game takes roughly a half hour to complete and like most kinetic novels has a linear plot and a few choices. When a snow storm lands the employees of Master Records in a cozy mountain lodge, they find that the unexpected excursion is the perfect time for a little bonding. Chat with your fellow associates as you all try to make the best of the situation.
One More Night (2015) – LeafThief
Cost: Free
A magical summer-themed game about friendship, love and getting drunk in nature. Three friends embark on a two-day camping trip before their last year of school begins. A trip they never want to end.
They want to stay one more night.
-Synopsis
One More Night is a visual novel created for the GB Jam 4 by LeafThief. In GBJam developers are tasked to create GameBoy themed games. One More Night follows three friends on their annual end of summer camping trip, interact with each character and learn more about them as they embark on the next phase in their lives. There are some choices, but those mostly shape your perceptions of the characters.
Starlit Flowers (2016) – Cosmic Latté
Cost: Free
One night when Einar is traveling through the forest, she sees two stars descend from the sky. She inspects the crash site to find two strange girls that appear out of this world. Their names are Ailis and Cerise, they ask Einar to help them return home and claim they fell from the night sky. Einar is skeptical about their story, but she decides to help them out anyway.
This is where their fun little adventure through the forest begins. As Einar gets to know the girls more, she starts to wonder if they’re The Star guardians her deceased mother used to tell her stories about.
-Synopsis
Starlit Flowers is a GxG kinetic visual novel developed by Cosmic Latté for NaNoRenO 2016. Like most kinetic novels Starlit Flowers features a linear narrative, with no in game choices. The game takes roughly 2 hours to complete and has 3 CGs as well as an unlockable concept gallery that can only be accessed once you complete the game!
