Last Week Today: Week End Recap- May 14th to May 20th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! Some of you may have noticed that I’ve stopped writing all of my weekly post series (save this one). Don’t worry, they aren’t cancelled, just on hold until June like everything else. I’m currently working on bringing everything up to snuff and for that I need a bit of time and with all the real life stuff I have going on right now, I need to prep a bit.

I will still upload game reviews during this time, but, that will be about it. If everything goes as planned, I should have everything back and running starting June 1st. In the meantime, I am always open to chatting with more bloggers and writers, so definitely hit me up and say hi, a list of where to find me online is, HERE! Also, if you want to exchange Blogroll links, just let me know and I’d be more than happy to add you, however, you kind of sorta have to write about Japanese culture and media (anime, manga, otome games, etc), but I will make an exception for K-dramas a K-pop stuff!

I’ll be writing for MANGA.TOKYO!!

manga tokyo logo

So I mentioned that I had a super special awesome announcement, well here it is! I heard about this site through my work with OWL: Otaku Warriors for Liberty and Self-Respect and when our dear secretary mentioned that there might be a chance to write for them I jumped at the opportunity.

MANGA.TOKYO covers a wide range of topics related to Japan and Japanese media, so there’s something for everyone there!! I finally got one of my articles published, it’s a review of the BL manga, Ten Countso definitely check that out and be on the look out for more articles in the near future.

Affiliate Links

Well, I finally broke down and signed up for some Affiliate Program so that I could possibly make a bit of cash doing this blogging thing. The way affiliate programs work is that I earn a small commission on any products you all buy using my affiliate links.  Right now I’m enrolled in Affiliate Programs for, MangaGamer, and Play-Asia so expect affiliate links to show up every so often in my posts in the near future. I will let you all know in advance if a post contains any affiliate links and I will update my sidebar with links to specific games and products.

The 5th OWLS Blog Tour- Strength is under way! Each OWLS member will be uploading their individual posts throughout the month of May!

“Your greatest weakness can become your greatest strength.”
In anime, characters struggle with inner demons or physical weaknesses that make them feel insecure and prevent them from achieving goals. Yet when these characters overcome their adversity, they can finally be able to express who they are or in other words, “Free to be Me.”
For this tour, we will be exploring anime characters that have overcome adversity due to a personal insecurity or physical weakness. It is these type of characters that many anime fans may identify as role models because fans are able to feel empathetic towards these characters’ struggles and insecurities.

This past week’s Blog Tour guides were Hazelyn (Archi-Anime), who wrote about strength in Kuroko no Basketball,  Steph (Two Happy Cats) who wrote about strength in Danganronpa and Rai (Rai’s Anime Blog) who wrote about strength in Amanchu.

This Week’s OWLS Blog Tour Stops

  1. Arria Cross (Fujinsei)– May 22nd
  2. Lita (LitaKino Anime Corner)– May 24th
  3. Takuto (Takuto’s Anime Cafe)– May 26th

There are plenty of Blog Tour Stops coming your way this month so be on the look out for announcements on the Official OWLS Twitter @OWLSbloggers, where we will keep you guys updated on each of the upcoming posts and other OWLS news!

I really want to hear from you guys, let me know what you think of Nice Job Breaking It, Hero. What do you think about this change? Do you guys like my posts? Is there something you think I should fix or add? Please feel free to let me know here in the comments section, or you can use this contact form!

the week ahead

pretending to write

I will try to get some reviews out to you guys this week, but until everything on my end gets to be a bit more stable I’m not going to be posting as much… aside from gaming news posts. I’m clearing through my backlog a bit, so there will be quite a few First Thoughts posts coming out between now and my official return in June. Full game reviews are another story entirely LOL

  • Nothing Planned- I’m just going to leave this day open in case I have to move things around or, I don’t know, want to sleep or something productive like that!

Here we are again at the end of another Recap Post, where I highlight four interesting posts from other bloggers that showed up on my Reader this past week…

Top 10 Best Original AnimeThis post comes from Kapodaco of Criticism and Thoughts! When I am looking for anime reviews and suggestions, I tend to favor more critical writers, so when I saw that Kapodaco had written a top 10 anime list… let’s just say I couldn’t click over fast enough! This is a great list of anime from a wide range of genres, so there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy here. So, if you are on the look out for a few new anime to watch, I highly recommend this post!!

Lethargic Ramble: Don’t Take Anime Too SeriouslyThis post comes from Lethargic of Lethargic Ramblings! Generally speaking, the anime community tends to be a rather excitable bunch, especially when it comes to the anime series we dislike. In this post, Lethargic cautions fans against getting too upset over anime series that toe the line between what is acceptable and what isn’t. This is a very candid post and definitely a must read!!

Diabolik Lovers Episode 10 – Round and Round and Round– This post comes from D from D Talks Anime! I have been following D’s Diabolik Lovers reviews since the beginning and I find their  frank and honestly hilarious commentary on the series absolutely perfect! Diabolik Lovers is one of those guilty pleasures of mine, simply because it’s easy to poke fun at and D captures that in each and every one of their reviews! So, if you haven’t already, I highly suggest giving them all a read!!

Goblin, Korean Drama Series (2016)This post comes from Raistlin0903 of Raistlin0903! I love K-dramas and Goblin has been on my watch list ever since it was added to DramaFever. Raistlin0903 wrote a fantastic review of the series and after reading it, I actually went out and watched a few episodes of the show… and it is definitely worth all the hype!!

So here we are at the end of this week’s post! Be sure to check out some of the bloggers from this week’s Weekly Blogger Spotlight, and drop them a line! Strike up a conversation or make a new friend! Don’t be shy get out there and mingle! 😉 Also, don’t worry if your post wasn’t featured in this week’s recap, keep writing and keep posting! I’ll keep my eye out!

See something in your Reader this week that you wanna share? Tell me what you think about my post? Anything you want to see more of? Less of? Have an idea for a post? Shoot me a line in the comments section  or Message me on Twitter! Don’t be shy, I swear I don’t bite! I appreciate input and discussions from my readers so let your voice be heard…and finally, as always Thank You for reading!

    • As a comedy, DiaLov is great, but as a serious romance… eh not so much. I mean one of the guy’s calls the MC, “Little Bi***” not to mention the biting that sounds like they’re biting into an apple and not a human being lol

And as always it was my pleasure, I love your reviews!!😁

      • I wanted to skewer that guy every time he called her that. This show was not good for my blood pressure, seriously. I can laugh about it now though.
