Hey hey guys I’m back with yet another Kickstarter campaign, that I stumbled upon last week, and while this isn’t just a visual novel in the traditional sense, the unique LGBTQ themed story definitely reflects the ideals and values of the developers! I’m talking about the upcoming PC LGBTQ themed visual novel/resource management game Your Royal Gayness from Lizard Hazard Games!
I’m not going to lie, the title is really what first caught my attention, and I’m glad it did, this looks like it’s going to be a fun game. And as I’ve said before, I’m excited to see another LGBTQ game in development, we need more unique titles like this on the market!
Story
Your Royal Gayness is a story driven kingdom management visual novel. The game features an immersive experience full of diverse characters and LGBTQ themes. Your Royal Gayness is meant to celebrate diversity in all of its forms, while providing a fun gameplay experience for all players.
It’s audience time, your first. You nervously poke your crown to make sure it’s properly perched on top of your dark, curly locks, and sit down on your throne with a sigh. Your advisors make sure you’re ready – you ate breakfast and brushed your teeth, right?
Then, it starts. Your Drakemaster steps into the room. The dragons are getting too fat! What will you do? Your loyal subjects are not feeling so loyal when they get eaten by your scaly pets. Breaking news, they also just set the library on fire. And oh, by the way, you’re getting proposed to by a princess today – too bad you’re gay!
You play as a gay prince named Amir. Your job is to keep the kingdom together while your parents are away, but it’s pretty hard when problems keep piling on and princesses are showing up, hungry for marriage with the heir of an influential kingdom!

This will be a commercial release, but by pledging at the $10 level, you all can snag a copy of the game. There are also a set of Stretch Goals that will expand the scope of the game if met. Some of the expanded features include additional events and stories, dungeons, challenges, and much more!! Upon it’s release the game will be available for Windows, Mac, Linux! The tentative release date is set for Summer 2017! The Campaign Goal is $5,500 and the KS will run until April 6th, 2017!
At this time there is a short alpha demo which can be downloaded from the KS campaign page. The alpha demo covers roughly 15-20 minutes of gameplay, but you get a good feel for the mechanics and the characters, so it’s definitely worth checking out!
