Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Feb. 26th to Mar. 4th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! This has been an all around crappy week… real life just has a way of kicking you while you’re down! So I haven’t been able to do all the things that I wanted to do this week, because honestly I haven’t really been in the mood for it.

So, sorry, if I’ve been kind of quiet lately… However, there was one bright spot this week, the Tsukishima Kei nendo I ordered was delivered! Yay! But, he’s currently being held hostage, so I have no idea when I’ll get to actually get my hands on the little guy…

Also, I promise I’m not ignoring you all’s comments and messages, I’ve just been kind of down lately, so bear with me, I promise I’ll answer them soon! Thank you guys for being so awesome and supportive!! 🙂

  5. The Guy I Like is a Rude Pop Star: Scandal in the Spotlight-Iori Enjo Main Story– Kicking off Megane Madness Month reviews is none other than the evil prince himself, Iori Enjo! This was the very first route that I ever played in Scandal in the Spotlight and the second route Voltage released.

I’m giving the ol’ blog a bit of a facelift; updating tags, menus, etc… So, for the next couple of weeks expect some minor wonkiness. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero will be up and running during the fixes, but, don’t be alarmed if stuff moves around a bit!

Most Recent Updates

  • I fixed the pages under the Games tab on the top menu!
    • You guys can now use page jumps to navigate each of the pages under the Games tab instead of just scrolling through the entire pages.
    • Added images for each game.
    • BL Game Reviews are now a sub tab of the Visual Novel/Otome Games tab under Games!
    • I combined Nintendo DS/3DS game reviews and PSP/Vita game reviews into one combined menu option, Handheld Games.
  • Created a new menu tab, Weekly Series.
  • You guys can now access all of my weekly series (Last Week Today, Melanin Monday, Thrifty Gaming, and Fangirl Moment) as drop down options from there.

Since I reached 300 Followers a little while ago, I figured it was about time I fixed things up a bit. There will also be a special announcement once everything is finished up, so be on the look out for that in the near future!

March Megane Madness

I probably should have announced this sooner, but what can I say, I’ve been busy… *ahem* It’s no secret that I’m weak to megane men, there’s just something hot about a man in glasses that really gets my blood pumping! Ray Bans, dark frames, wire frames, bifocals, trifocals, fashion lenses, *fans self* I love them all! So I wanted to share that love with you guys in a month long megane celebration.

Throughout the month of March I will be paying tribute to all the megane hotties out there with semi-daily megane themed posts and reviews!! Ya’ll have heard of March Madness, well here on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero it will be Megane Madness Month!!

Affiliate Links

Well, I finally broke down and signed up for some Affiliate Program so that I could possibly make a bit of cash doing this blogging thing. The way affiliate programs work is that I earn a small commission on any products you all buy using my affiliate links.  Right now I’m enrolled in Affiliate Programs for and MangaGamer, so expect affiliate links to show up every so often in my posts in the near future. I will let you all know in advance if a post contains any affiliate links and I will update my sidebar with links to specific games and products.

The second OWLS Blog Tour is underway, March’s topic focuses on Sanctuary!

A sanctuary is a place of safety and stability. In anime, there are several different places and environments that characters call “home.” For this topic, we will be discussing various locations and settings within certain anime series.

Each OWLS member will be uploading their individual posts throughout the month of March! This week’s Blog Tour guides were Shay from Anime Reviewer Girl, with our first ever vlog about the meaning of sanctuary in Ouran High School Host Club my post about and  LitaKino from LitaKino Anime Corner, who wrote her first OWLS Blog Tour post about Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin!

There is just plenty of Blog Tour Stops coming your way this month so be on the look out for announcements on the Official OWLS Twitter @OWLSbloggers, where we will keep you guys updated on each of the upcoming posts and other OWLS news!

I really want to hear from you guys, let me know what you think of Nice Job Breaking It, Hero. What do you think about this change? Do you guys like my posts? Is there something you think I should fix or add? Please feel free to let me know here in the comments section, or you can use this contact form!

Here we are again at the end of another Recap Post, where I highlight four interesting posts from other bloggers that showed up on my Reader this past week…

Why We Should Appreciate Otome HeroinesThis post comes from Leaf of LEAFさんの夢が。。。! Otome game heroines get a bad wrap, from otome gamers and I admit that there have been a few that I absolutely hated! Well, in this post, otome blogger Leafy urges readers to look at otome heroines in a different light. Rather than condemning them for their lack of personality or unassuming presence, we should be celebrating them!

Boku wa Konomama Kaeranai – Boys Love Classic ReviewThis post comes from Mistress of Yaoi of Yaoi PlaygroundI stumbled upon this OVA back when I was first getting into yaoi and BL stuff, under the English title of Our Road of No Return. While I liked what I saw, it wasn’t until I read the manga (I Shall Never Return) just last year that I really fell in love with the series! This is an honest review of a classic BL OVA that is definitely worth the read for fans of yaoi and BL!!

Role Model: Haruhi Fujioka– This post comes from heyitszel of Archi-AnimeHaruhi Fujioka is on of my all time favorite female leads… EVER! So, when I saw that this blogger was running a series about outstanding female anime characters, I knew it was only a matter of time before this leading lady made an appearance! This is a fantastic character analysis of a phenomenal young lady!!

Otome gamers have more options than just abusive vampiresThis post comes from Krystallia of DaiyamangaEvery time a developer holds a licensing poll for otome game titles in the West, there is one title that always manages to polarize the community…. Diabolik Lovers. Whether you love it or hate it, the fact remains that there is a market for it, even if we’ll probably never get the title localized. So, this blogger offers some alternative titles for folks to ask for the next time a developer decides to gauge the interests of the Western otoge market.

So here we are at the end of this week’s post! Be sure to check out some of the bloggers from this week’s Weekly Blogger Spotlight, and drop them a line! Strike up a conversation or make a new friend! Don’t be shy get out there and mingle! 😉 Also, don’t worry if your post wasn’t featured in this week’s recap, keep writing and keep posting! I’ll keep my eye out!

See something in your Reader this week that you wanna share? Tell me what you think about my post? Anything you want to see more of? Less of? Have an idea for a post? Shoot me a line in the comments section  or Message me on Twitter! Don’t be shy, I swear I don’t bite! I appreciate input and discussions from my readers so let your voice be heard…and finally, as always Thank You for reading!

    • Yeah, there’s gonna be a lot of me time in the coming weeks and months… But, as stressful as blogging can be, it definitely helps. *hugs* I really appreciate the encouragement and the support, I kinda need it right now 🙂

      • It’s like blogging is a different kind of stress that can cancel out other kinds of stress. I feel like it’s more time/energy consuming, but still cathartic because you’re getting your ideas and often frustrations out there. We all need to vent sometimes!

  1. Voltage…*sigh*
Hope things get better, Poke! Hang in there ^^
Trio of Towns is sooo good all the guys are great and there’s a megane doctor in there. He’s got a moe gap and he’s a secret tsundere xD
    YAS to megane Mondays xD
For next post maybe reflect on things you’ve had on your mind? Or talk about hopes for the upcoming otoge and how this affects the market?

    • LMAO Voltage just likes jerking folks around… smh

Ah well, it’s getting there, I had to cut some things loose and make a really tough decision, but I’ll be okay!

I heard, I want the game, but my cash is kind of tight right now, so I’ll have to wait.

LOLOL Megane Month! Once a week isn’t enough to celebrate all those glasses wearing hotties!

Hmmm, those are great suggestions, thanks Leaf!!

    • WOOT!!! I’ll have make sure I make it worth your while! XD It was my pleasure, as an otoge fan, I completely get where you’re coming from (even if I still kind of want to play DiaLov for kicks and giggles). Hopefully seeing those titles will broaden people’s horizons a bit.
