Dangerous Seduction First Impressions Review

There I was minding my own business, browsing Twitter, when I saw that Voltage had finally decided to release a brand new app, Dangerous Relationship! So I immediately dropped everything and downloaded the game from the App store!!

So first things first, the art is a bit different from their other games and I have to admit that when I first saw it I wasn’t really a fan of it, but it grew on me. Okay, I’m lying, I’m still on the fence about the art style, but the premise more than makes up for that!

The Story

When your life is on the line, can you trust a criminal to keep you safe?

Your father is dead, killed in an accident months ago. When you are attacked out of nowhere, you are saved by 5 of the most notorious criminals in Japan. They tell you that your father’s death was no accident, and the men who killed him are now after you.

One of them is chosen to guard you day and night, at least until their contract is up. But now you are at risk of losing your heart as well as your life!

Is love enough to win the heart of a bad boy?!

Who will you trust to keep you safe?

Synopsis

After your parents die in a tragic accident, you (name changeable) decide to follow in your late father’s footsteps and becomes a freelance journalist. On the day of your first assignment you are attacked by a group of unknown assailants. First you are almost the victim of a hit and run, but you’re saved just in time by a handsome man, who looks a bit like a fugitive you saw on the news… After that, you get caught in the middle of an elevator shoot out, only to be saved yet again by another gorgeous man.

live

Your convenient savior drags you off to meet a group of men who inform you that the attacks will only get worse, unless you go with them. Apparently the MC’s father was the key to unlocking some super secret room, but when his enemies found out, they had him killed. So, before his untimely death, your father had you designated as the new key and he contracted the five mega hot bishie fugitives to protect you until all of his enemies are gone. Choose one of them to be your personal full time protector…

The Characters: Falling in love with a dangerous man!

characters-dangerous-seduction
L to R: Masaharu Ryuzaki, Yasumi Arimura, Kentaro Inui, Asuka Hino, and Haruma Fujioka
  • Masaharu Ryuzaki is an arrogant sniper, who will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. He has no qualms about using people to get what he wants, but beneath his confident facade, Masaharu is hiding a dark secret.
  • Yasumi Arimura is a cold, foul mouthed, genius hacker and the character I am most looking forward to in the game! He kind of reminds me of Takuto from Love Letter from Thief X… Dude had my heart from the moment I saw that cold, expressionless face… *fans self*
  • Haruma Fujioka is a mysterious back alley doctor and all around decent fella… In the prologue his weapons of choice are surgical scalpels, which he throws at his enemies with pinpoint accuracy! I dunno, but this guy seems like a bit of a space case…
  • Asuka Hino is a good natured spy, with a knack for disguises. He’s highly intelligent and is usually one step ahead of everyone else in the room.  It’s strange, but Asuka definitely reminds me of Sora from My Sweet Bodyguard, probably because of the disguises!
  • Kentaro Inui is the mature leader of the group, kind of like the unofficial team dad… He does his best to make sure the MC is as comfortable as possible. But, beneath Kentaro’s calm demeanor, lie some deep scars…

Gameplay and Features

Similar to Era of Samurai: Code of Love, which came out earlier this year, Dangerous Seduction also utilizes the “Coins” system. It’s similar to the system in place for Sweet Café,  players purchase coins which can be used to purchase stories within the game (players can still buy stories using real money too). Coins just offer a more streamlined buying option, allowing players to purchase stories without having to go through the respective app store login processes. Voltage has hinted that there will be future features that will utilize the Coin system, but as of right now nothing specific has been announced. Coins purchased in the game will never disappear, unless you delete the app.

This game also uses the new Restore/Transfer game data. Instead of having to keep track of Transfer ID codes, players can now register an email address and password that will be used to restore purchases and transfer data to new devices. The email and password can be used multiple times for multiple devices!

There are two endings available in Dangerous SeductionArrested by Love and Hearts on the Run. The Arrested by Love is the more romantic of the two endings, while the Hearts on the Run features a more dramatic ending.

Dangerous Seduction Review

Okay, so this game is like a cross between My Sweet BodyguardLove Letter From Thief X, and True Love, Sweet Lies. Which are all some of my favorite Voltage Inc apps, so I have high hopes for this game already! I like a little action and mystery with my otome games, so this game seems right up my alley!

Of course I have a bias, I always have a bias and this time it’s the cold hacker, Yasumi Arimura. From what I’ve seen of him in the prologue he could be the secret love child of Scorpio from Star Crossed Myth and Takuto Hirukawa from Love Letter From Thief X… What can I say, I have a type 😛

IMG_4362.PNG
He had me at “dumbass”…

Unfortunately, I’ll have to wait to play with the dangerous hacker bae, since Masaharu is the only route out right now (what happened to releasing the first two characters at launch?!). The other characters are interesting and I’m really looking forward to seeing more of them in their individual routes. The prologue hints that each guy is hiding a “terrible” secret and I’m curious to see how that factors in to the overall narrative of the game, if at all. The MC is pretty standard right now, but I have a feeling there’s more to her than meets the eye! So, I’m going to be hopeful and predict that I’m going to like this MC.

Okay, so the art style. I’m not a big fan of it right now, I was the same way about Metro PD when it was first released and now I love the art in that game. Plus, for me, story trumps art anyway, so as long as the individual routes are good I can get over my hang up about the art style. I also did some sleuthing and I found out it’s the same artist that worked on Tokimeki Restaurant, do with that what you will.

Oh, I almost forgot, the opening movie is voiced! And after doing some digging I found out that all of the guys have VAs… well know otoge veteran VAs! So, I’ll just leave the list here in case anyone is interested *ahem*:

  • Masaharu Ryuzaki – CV: Yuuki Ono
  • Yasumi Arimura – CV: Taishi Murata
  • Haruma Fujioka – CV: Junta Terashima
  • Asuka Hino – CV: Natsuki Hanae
  • Kentaro Inui – CV: Shunsuke Takeuchi

Overall, I don’t really have any complaints! The premise is intriguing and the characters look fun, the art isn’t my favorite, but I’ll get over it… I’m really looking forward to playing this game! Expect individual reviews as soon as the stories are released!

    1. This one is in English translation of their Japanese version!! So far it’s really good you should definitely check it out!! Have you played any other Voltage games?

      1. Ah, this app is one of their paid apps only the prologue is free. Main stories are usually $3.99 each.

They’re PARTY apps are free to play and they have a new game Liar Uncover the Truth that is also free too.

      2. Liar is completely free, but if you want to play the bonus Lovers Routes you have to use the in game currency which costs money. But tou can play through the main game without having to spend any cash, since voltage gives away coins as daily login bonuses

  1. Yasumi is totally my type! Your “Dude had my heart from the moment I saw that cold, expressionless face… *fans self*” comment had be crying on the train since i share the same sentiment. 😂😂

  2. I like your style of review hehe and you seem like a fun person XD I don’t play paid games, only party versions so I don’t really have anything to comment *_* hope you have fun playing this game!

    1. Aww shucks!😶 thank you so much for this comment it really made my day!! I’m so glad you enjoyed my post, it really makes me happy to know that people like my writing style 😊

That’s the exact opposite of me lol I’m more of a paid app kind of gal, but I’ve played a few of the party games and the SWD games too! Which party game is your favorite? What other free games have you played?

      1. Haha no problem.. I myself just do reviews for fun and sort of a way to track what stories I’ve played but you seem so professional ^^ wow really? I don’t really get to play the paid ones so I enjoy the party ones. I play Samurai Love Ballad Party, My Forged Wedding Party and Be My Princess Party (but no more events for now..bad timing haha). Sorry what’s SWD? I’m kinda new to this otome game world HAHA I only know Voltage’s.. I’m not really a game person, more of a stories person so I’m happy to know otome! *_^

      2. Lol professional, me?! Ha ha just a humble blogger with an obsession with 2d boys 😅

I’ve heard really good things about SLBP and the lords look so dreamy! I’ve especially got my eye on Date Masamune!!

I played MFWP, but I kind of forgot about it, but BMPP was my favorite! I loved the paid version so I was all over the party version! Which is your favorite prince? Mine is Joshua! It was such a Shame that they stopped updating it 😢

Oh, SWD is the Shall We Date series from NTT Solmare, they have a ton of mobile otome games, some are paid and some are free. They have an excellent selection so I definitely recommend looking them up if you have the chance!!

I started with Voltage too!! It’s so great to meet fellow otome fans!! I definitely love chatting with people so dont be afraid to hit me up on WP or even on twitter!!😁

Oh yeah also check out Leafy’s blog if you haven’t already, she focuses on otome games too and she’s super nice! Here’s a link: https://leafydream.wordpress.com/

      3. Wow thank you so much ^__^ you’re really nice *_* haha omg I love SLBP it’s so fun n_n I’m Not very sure how things work but since this party app got released this year, they are pretty lenient with the points and stuff so I would say it’s pretty fun compared to MFWP which everything needs money and the points are really like unreachable for me Hahhaha. Masamune is really cool XD
Ooh you played Be My Princess Party?? Mine is Wilfred hehe but all the princes seem so much fun! 🙂 is the non party version good? Which do you prefer?
Oh!! I’ve heard of it then.. Maybe someday I’ll try it out. Oh god there so many 2D men to romance over!! 🙁
Ahh so Glad to have someone to talk to. Me too! Haha. if you don’t mind that I only play party versions though. What’s your Twitter? 🙂
Alright, I’ll check her out if I have the time! Thank you!! ^^

      4. MFWP was ridiculous! Way too many micro transactions… which was weird because all of the other party apps weren’t like that at all!

Yes! I loved BMPP!! I agree all of the princes are great, but Joshua will always be my favorite!😍😍😍 however, Wills is also one of my favorites! He is such a sweet!

Oh my gosh yes! The paid version is one of my all time favorite Voltage games ever!! It’s a shame that they’re done updating it 😣 Hmm, both games have their merits, the story of the party app is better, but the paid app has a much more expanded story…

My twitter is @BeckNaja definitely drop me a line if you have the time!!!

Oh yeah, Leafy is great and her posts are hilarious!! 😁

Also, no problem you’re super awesome to talk to, so it was my pleasure!! Gotta spread the 2d love 😄

      5. Oh wow.. Sounds really ridiculous LOL idk about you but I really dislike how difficult they made the game to be. I’m somehow on the verge of giving up but I’ve already played it for 500+ days and I love all characters so.. Dilemma. I just go for Yamato’s routes. I think probably because it was their first ever party app? Maybe they have since modified the recent party apps to make it better. I’m not sure TT
Wow that’s nice to hear! BMPP was great. I’m happy to know that you like the storylines haha. Are you still currently playing it? The party one? Or have you finished their stories already? ^^ hehe Joshua is really like cold and hot sometimes? I don’t know how to describe it haha. Their personalities were done well(?) haha.
Alright sure! I’ll perhaps leave you a message when I go on Twitter. I’m so lazy hehe thanks again!!
Hehe you too! Thanks for talking to me 💕💕🙆🏻

Gush about cute otome boys~
