TinyWars- Beta Demo Review

So, a little while ago, I was asked to participate in a beta test for an upcoming anime themed tower defense game from Bizurk Software, TinyWars! The game has been in development since 2015 and will be available for PC and mobile devices upon it’s release.

I’ve played a few tower defense mobile games before, but they were never more than a way to pass the time on the commute to and from school. So when I was asked to participate in the beta testing for the game I didn’t expect much, but TinyWars proved to be both fun and challenging!

Love is in the Forecast: Storm Lover Kai Review

I am a sucker for high school romance stories, no matter how cheesy and cliche they are, I always find myself captivated by the innocence of the stories. On the surface Storm Lover Kai is your typical high school romance fluff; girl meets boy, girl dates boy. But, there is so much more to this game than that, the player has the power to craft a love story all their own. You can be a monogamous Mary Sue or a heartbreaker, in Storm Lover Kai, the choice is up to you!

In 2012, D3Publisher released Storm Lover Kai, a remake of their 2010 hit Storm Lover. The game boasts improved graphics, more CGs, and a slightly expanded plot. But, since I’ve never played the original Storm Lover, all of these improvements are kind of lost on me. So my opinion of the game is based solely on SLK. On the surface it’s just like any other High School stat building, event based otome game, relentlessly stalk your crush until he succumbs to your girlish charm.

Fangirl Moment: Yuri!!! On Ice

TGIF! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! After cancelling last week’s FM post, I am back in full form, with a fun anime related Fangirl Moment write up. But, first I should probably explain what Fangirl Moments are, since I’ve gotten few new followers recently… *ahem* Fangirl Moment posts are short weekly posts that cover a wide range of subject matter (usually anime, manga, books, or films). I choose the topic at random and they always come out on Fridays, if you are curious about my previous FM posts, click HERE, for the Master list or use the top menu to view posts by topic!

So this week’s post is about an anime series that I’ve recently started watching, an anime series that has been the biggest ship tease I have ever seen… I’m talking about *drumroll* Yuri!!! On Ice…

yuri.jpg

So, I guess now would be the time to admit that when I first saw the announcement for this series a few months ago, I was actually planning on not watching it at all… In general, I’m not a huge fan of sports anime, with Haikyuu being the only exception, so when a friend from Line demanded I watch the series with her, I wasn’t very enthusiastic…

Can You Love the Real Me?- Liar! Uncover the Truth: Mr. Right Lovers Route Main Story Review

When I finished writing up all of the Liar Routes, I said I’d write reviews for the Lovers Routes too. Well here I am finally making good on that promise! Actually I was waiting for Voltage to release Mr. Right’s Lovers Route before I started in on these reviews. I just had to know if there was any truth to that plot twist at the end of the 9th Liar arc… and boy did Voltage go out with a bang on this one!!  I wasn’t ready for all of the feels!

Since this is the first Lovers Route review, I want to clarify some things… *ahem* Unlike the Liar Main Stories, the Lovers Routes are not free. Let me repeat that for the folks in the back; THE LOVERS ROUTES ARE NOT FREE! Lovers Routes can be purchased with coins, which players can purchase with cash!! The 12 chapter Main Stories cost 800 coins while the 3 chapter Epilogues cost 450 coins, which if you get both is roughly $8.00 total. But, Voltage has been giving away free daily login coins so if you horde coins you can purchase stories without spending any cash.

Now that that is out of the way, I should also mention that there are only FIVE Lovers Routes, one each for Liars 6-9 and one for Mr. Right. So, if you want to romance one of the earlier liars, you are plum out of luck! If you want a spoiler free review of Liar! Uncover the Truth, click… HERE! If you want to read more about Mr. Right from the Liar main stories, click right, HERE!!

**Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of the images used in this review, ALL images, screenshots, and characters belong to Voltage Inc. Please if you are interested in the game, download the game for free in the App Store or from Google Play and purchase the stories when they are available in your area. Also this post will contain spoilers, do with that what you will…**

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Nov. 13th to Nov. 19th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! I am well aware of how late this week’s post is, Pokemon has kind of taken over my life… I have been playing nonstop since the release on Friday….

steven-games

I managed to get the whole week off, which means even more time to play my copy of Pokemon Moon!! I’m also suposed to be cooking Turkey Day dinner this year, for the first time in my life and I am just a little overwhelmed… Does anyone know how long I should cook a 10 lb turkey?

[Announcement] Out Exploring Alola…

pokemon_sun_moon.0.0

Since Pokemon Sun and Moon was released today, I’m cancelling this week’s Fangirl Moment post so I can play it! I probably could have written a quick Fangirl Friday post last night or right now while I wait for my local Gamestop to open, but when I try to force them they never seem to come out right…

playing video games

But, that is besides the point, the fact of the matter is that I am putting everything on hold while I play Pokemon Moon. So don’t expect much from me in the next few days, as I will be busy exploring Alola!

As of right now, the Last Week Today post for 11/13 to 11/19 isn’t cancelled… but, we’ll see how that goes come Sunday.

[First Thoughts]Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons

This game was originally on my Summer Game Playlist, but one thing led to another and I never got around to actually playing it before the end of the summer. If I’m being honest, I never intended to get through that list in the first place since I have a habit of getting distracted by new games easily… *cough* Liar Uncover the Truth *coughSo, now that I’ve finished wallowing in mobile otoge hell, I’ve finally decided to revisit some of the games from my poor neglected backlog (so expect many more First Thoughts posts in the coming days and weeks). The first game on the agenda is Aeon Dream Studios’s (aka Star Maiden Games) debut title, Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons.

Okay, so first things first, Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons was released back in February and while the prologue and the first chapters of each route are free, the Main Stories and Epilogues are $4.99 and $1.99 respectively. There are five romanceable characters, but as of this post only three guys have been released (number four, Takumi will be released later on this month)…

**Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of the images used in this review, ALL images, screenshots, and characters belong to Aeon Dream Studios. Please if you are interested in the game, purchase the game either through itch.io or through Steam!!

For once I’m not late with this Kickstarter campaign, in fact, I’ve been following this game for a little while now! So, this time around I am excited to bring you guys the campaign for Naive Sprite’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland inspired otome, A Very Important Date!!

I absolutely love anything to do with Alice in Wonderland, so when I heard that this game was in the works I immediately kept tabs on the development!! So with out further ado, let’s get this post crackin’!!

[Full Game Review] English Otome- Always Remember Me

Released in 2012, Always Remember Me is a PC English visual novel, produced by Winter Wolves. The game follows a young woman who finds herself having to win back her boyfriend after he loses his memories after a motorcycle accident.

Like I said in my C14 Dating review a little while ago, I am a huge fan of the English language game developer, Winter Wolves. In fact their games along with the Voltage Inc mobile otoge, were my first introduction to the world of otome games. So when I heard that Winter Wolves was working on, Never Forget Me (which you guys can purchase, HERE) the sequel to one of their first English otome games Always Remember MeI just knew I had to go back and review the first game. So whether you’ve already played this game and are in need of a refresher before Never Forget Me is released, or someone new to the game, you’ve definitely come to the right place!

**So the disclaimer… I don’t own these images or characters, they belong to Winter Wolves. The thoughts and opinions presented in this post are my own, it’s fine if you don’t agree with me, but be respectful when commenting (I’m open to all opinions here). You can purchase the game, HERE or on Steam, HERE.

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Nov. 6th to Nov. 12th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! So this has been an interesting week to say the least. For the most part I have been slacking off as much as humanly possible (work assignments aside)…

hard-work-sucks

I wish I could say that I at least got some gaming done this week, but I didn’t really do much of that… On the plus side, I did get a lot of Netflix binging done… silver linings. Oh and I might be working on a new project at work in the near future!!

Fangirl Moment: Sherlock

TGIF! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! Okay so last week after I saw Doctor Strange, I found myself craving more Benedict Cumberbatch… so, I opened up Netflix and binge watched all three seasons of the BBC series, Sherlock. I’ve seen mixed reviews about the series; people either love it or they hate, so I really didn’t know what to expect from the show…

2016-11-10 (3).png

#RelationshipGoals

I didn’t expect to like this series as much as I did, but it only took me one episode and I was hooked! I’d be lying if I didn’t say Cumberbatch was the main reason I started watching the show, but the Martin Freeman’s facial expressions are what really kept me watching… I kid!

Let’s Show Our Support for When Our Journey Ends a fantasy Visual Novel

Edit (12/8): The Kickstarter for this game was successful at meeting its funding goal. The final funding amount was S$ 3,492 with 200 backers ! The game now has a tentative release date of Early 2017!

I’m still recovering from the recent US Presidential Election results, so forgive me for being late with this Kickstarter campaign… *claps hands* So onward a upward, today I want to draw your attention to the recently launched Kickstarter campaign for a rather intriguing fantasy visual novel from Afterthought StudiosWhen Our Journey Ends!

WOJE is inspired by the real life story of a now defunct Hokkaido train station that remained open despite diminished patronage, so that a local high school girl could attend school in the city. While the premise is largely grounded in reality, Afterthought Studios has added their on fantastical spin to the tale, which promises to be a delightful addition to the veteran developer’s portfolio!

Let’s Show Our Support for Grand Old Academy a Satirical Dating Sim!!

Edit (12/3): The Kickstarter for this game was successful at meeting its funding goal. The final funding amount was $15,659 with 513 backers ! The game now has a tentative release date of 2017!

Since today is Election Day here in the good old U.S. of A, I decided to bring you all a very special Kickstarter Campaign to get you all in the political mood! I will admit that when I saw this campaign last week, I thought they were pulling my leg, but to my surprise the whole thing is legit! So on this very special Election Day, I bring you the Kickstarter Campaign for Robert W. Amster’s political satire dating sim, Grand Old Academy!

grand-old-party

Yes, ya’ll, a visual novel that lets you date the 2016 Republican Presidential Candidates! Oddly enough, this is one of those things I never thought I needed, but now that it’s here I can’t imagine my life with out it! I only have one question… okay well two…

  1. Why has no one tried to do something like this before?
  2. Will there be a sequel for the Democratic Presidential Candidates?

But, I think I’m getting ahead of myself a bit… Grand Old Academy will be a free to play PC dating sim, but they still need your help to get the ball rolling!

We started this journey with ten “perfect” guys, each more impressive than the last…But, nine of the ten are dirty rotten liars, despicable men with no qualms about bending the truth to suit their needs… (The guys are not in order)

We unmasked nine liars, exposing them for the scum that they are: Mama’s Boys, Gambling Addicts, Fanboys, Mobsters, a Divorcee, Scam Artists, Raging Lunatics, Cheaters, and even a  “Drug Addict”! It’s been a long road and there’s only one man left standing…If you want a spoiler free review click, HERE, if not keep reading!

Since not everyone that reads my blog has finished the game I ask that you all keep your comments as spoiler free as humanly possible rather than stating the name of the liars instead refer to them by their liar number (ie. Liar X) and for the victorious man, “Mr. Right”… Thanks in advance! 😀

That Guy is a Divorcee: Liar! Uncover the Truth- 9th Liar

Here it is the very last liar! We started this journey with ten guys that seemed too good to be true… wealthy businessmen, international sports stars, and more. But, the thing is when something appears to be too good to be true, chances are that it is… Nine of the ten are dirty rotten liars, despicable men with no qualms about bending the truth to suit their needs… (The guys are not in order)

We unmasked eight liars, exposing them for the scum that they are: Mama’s Boys, Gambling Addicts, Fanboys, Mobsters, Scam Artists, Raging Lunatics, Cheaters, “Drug Addict”, and now we’ve made it to the final stretch! It’s been a long road, but we are finally down to the last two contenders…If you want a spoiler free review click, HERE, if not keep reading!

Since not everyone that reads my blog has finished the game I ask that you all keep your comments as spoiler free as humanly possible rather than stating the name of the liars instead refer to them by their liar number (ie. Liar X) and for the victorious man, “Mr. Right”… Thanks in advance! 😀

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Oct. 30th to Nov. 5th

Hello Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week on Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! I am exhausted! I’m still trying to get used to waking up every morning for work, but other than that, I’m enjoying my new job. As a whole, the position is pretty lax and way less stressful than my previous customer service jobs…

workingHowever, now that I work during the day Monday through Friday, I don’t really have that much time to blog as much as I once did. I pretty much conk out when I get off, but I’ve been trying my best to write when I can. Continue reading “Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Oct. 30th to Nov. 5th”

Fangirl Moment: Doctor Strange

TGIF! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! This week I am super late… like a whole day late with my Fangirl Friday post, though technically it’s still Friday where I live. But, that’s besides the point, the reason I’m so late with this post is because I decided that I wanted to write about something super current. For this week’s post, I’m covering the newest film in the MCU lineup, Doctor Strange!!

I had no idea what to expect when I walked into the theater, because aside from seeing one Doctor Strange animated film on Cartoon Network years ago, I don’t know much about the guy… However, that didn’t stop me from getting a ticket to the film in 3D…

[First Thoughts] This World Unknown

So with all of the Liar! Uncover the Truth reviews I’ve been writing lately, it might be hard to believe that I’ve also been playing another game… Yup, I have been playing Ebi-Hime‘s most recent commercial visual novel, This World Unknown! Shocking, I know, Liar! has literally been taking up all of my time lately, but in between Liars I have been slowly (I mean snail’s pace slow) making my way through this game! First, let me clarify that I’ve only managed to make it through one route… ya’ll, this game is much more time consuming than I originally anticipated… I started this game at the beginning of October and it is now  November and I’ve only completed one route!

When I first saw this game I thought this would be a cute, short game to kill time with while I figured out what my next big game would be after Norn9. But, one thing lead to another and Norn9 was put on an indefinite hold and this game was put on the back burner after I got hooked on Liar! Well, now that I’m almost done with Liar! I’ve been able to devote more time to TWU, but not as much as I would have liked especially now that I’ve started working… *sigh* The full game review is still a little ways off, but I still wanted to get my thoughts on the game out there before I get too busy or I get distracted by another game again….

**Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of the images used in this review, ALL images, screenshots, and characters belong to ebi-hime and Sekai Project. Please if you are interested in the game, purchase the game either through itch.io or through Steam for ONLY $7.99!!

So I’ve Kinda Been Nominated for a Liebster Award… AGAIN!!!

I’m still getting used to my work schedule so, I’ve been sitting on this nomination for about a week now… But, last week I saw that the wonderful Remyfool over at The Lily Garden had nominated me for a Liebster Award! First, I want to say thank you so much for thinking about me!!! Remy runs an amazing yuri blog, it’s like a one stop shop of all things yuri! From anime reviews to manga to yuri-centric visual novels, The Lily Garden is a paradise for fans the genre!!

Thank you

I was nominated for this award back in June by another blogger so if you want to see that post click…. HERE! So why bother writing another Liebster Award post if you already did it? Uhhh the questions are different… I kid, no the real reason is because there has been enough time between the first nomination and this one to justify writing another post…

So what is a Liebster Award? Well, it’s an award that typically recognizes up and coming bloggers, by helping others discover new blogs and facilitate community building.

How does one get it? In order to receive a Liebster Award, you must be nominated by a fellow blogger.

Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and answer the 11 questions they’ve written for you.
  2. Nominate 11 people and give them 11 different questions to answer.

That Guy is a Scam Artist: Liar! Uncover the Truth- 8th Liar

Finally, Voltage has decided to go back to their roots with Liar 8! After the rather tame lies of the last two (by all means disagree with me if you want), I was expecting something much more forgivable, but nope, the 8th Liar is a despicable dude (and I love it)! This time around there were three potential Liars to choose from, Sotaro ShigaItaru Yuikawa and Azusa Kurono; and I really, really, really did not see this one coming… If you want a spoiler free review click, HERE, if not keep reading! So without further ado, the 8th Liar, Azusa Kurono.

While, it doesn’t evolve, Genesect can utilize Drives that change the type of elemental blast when using the move Techno Blast. This Pokemon was created through several modifications devised by Team Plasma and it is the last Pokemon of the Unova region.

Genesect was released only once, through a WiFi event for Black 2 and White 2. So if you missed your chance to get Genesect back in 2012, now is your chance.
