My Top Ten Favorite AMVs

So the other day while going through my favorite Youtube videos, I stumbled upon a few old AMVs and before I knew it I’d lost five hours of my life. I literally spent five hours watching AMVs, so I decided that you guys needed to suffer with me, so I compiled a list of my favorites. Before you all start grabbing your torches and pitchforks, this list is purely my opinion…

So without further ado here we go: My Top 10 Favorite AMVs.

Number 10: Future (diary) husband

An oddly upbeat love song for a crazy anime…This goes out to all the yandere relationships out there. Somehow this AMV manages to be both endearing and creepy, remaining true to the insanity that is Future Diary.

Number 9: The Warriors

So I have a confession to make…I don’t like One Piece, but this AMV almost convinced me to start watching it! This was a pretty epic AMV and a very fitting song choice.

Number 8: Iwatobi Weather Service

One word….Fanservice…

Number 7: iKyon

I think this AMV perfectly sums up the relationship between Kyon and Haruhi from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I forgot how hard Kyon had it in the series, makes you wonder why he put up with Haruhi’s shenanigans in the first place…

Number 6: The Host Club Will Rock Ya Body

Anyone who has seen Ouran High School Host Club knows just how over the top and silly it can be. This AMV is so Ouran! Special mentions for the editing and syncing done in the beginning with Kyoya!

Number 5: Mad Hatter

For an anime like Assassination Classroom, this is probably one of the best songs to choose for an AMV. The song Mad Hatter just works with an anime as bizarre as Assassination Classroom, where in addition to the 3 R’s, students learn how to be assassins.

Number 4: Anything Can Happen

I was so impressed with the editing in this AMV, it had to have taken a lot of work to get that transformation sequence down! The timing was just spot on, showcasing each and every battle costume! Just Wow! Plus the song chosen channels the spirit of Cardcaptor Sakura, a magical girl anime where literally anything can happen!

Number 3:  -Beginnings-

Wavin’ Flag by K’naan perfectly sums up the spirit of Magi: Labyrinth of Magic. A young band of heroes up against a corrupt society armed only with their hopes and dreams for a better future. I just love it when the musical selection fits perfectly with the anime used in an AMV!

Number 2: Hot Blooded

I just loved this AMV from the minute I saw it at Katsucon last year! This was just a really well done AMV, from the music to the editing. The music only enhances the visuals and the editing was spot on! When I first saw this AMV I had not seen K Project yet, but after seeing this I made sure to add it to my watch list!

Number 1: My Little Sister Can’t Be this Rude

Okay, so this is probably the most hilariously ironic video on this list, and that’s part of the reason I love it so much. For those who don’t know at its core, My Little Sister Can’t be this Cute (Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai) is about the relationship between an older brother and younger sister… *looks over shoulder nervously* Okay, it’s an incest/brocon anime. Couple that with a song about a boyfriend who is constantly rebuffed by his girlfriend’s father and you have a very clever AMV.

Honorable Mentions

So that’s my list, were there any AMVs you though should have been on the list that weren’t? Something on the list that you think shouldn’t be? Do you have any suggestions for posts? Any burning questions? Want me to review a specific game or character? Feel free to Comment on this post or Ask Me on my tumblr! As always Thank You for reading!
