Top 5 Best Voltage Games

Voltage Inc has certainly come up with so many amazing games, these are the cream of the crop the games I could play over and over again without getting bored. This is part two of a suggested post series, for the first part go, HERE. So this was a hard list to come up with, I enjoy different aspects of each and every Voltage Inc game for different reasons. These games are on here because of my feelings about the entire game, and in no way a reflection of the individual characters in the game.

Before you all start grabbing your torches and pitchforks, this list is purely my opinion…You are more than welcome to agree or disagree with me if you want, by all means leave a comment and suggest better voltage games. So without further ado here we go: My Top 5 “Best” Voltage Inc Games.

Number 5: Be My Princess

Android| IOS

I absolutely love Be My Princess, it is one of the “earlier” Voltage games, and it still manages to hold up pretty well. In the game you play as a college student who for some reason or another (it varies from route to route) are invited to stay with one of  six (seven if you count Yakov) prince’s castles. While there the two of you fall in love and have to deal with anti Royal/Commoner stigma and eventually marry your prince and become a princess! I know this is super cheesy, but I’m a sucker for princes! Definitely a solid game!

Number 4: Kiss of Revenge

Android| IOS

Kiss of Revenge was a big deal when it was first released, it was at the time the only game to deviate from the sugar and rainbows romance. In this game you play as a surgeon who has just started working at a major hospital in Tokyo, the same hospital responsible for your mother’s death 12 years ago. You’ve infiltrated the hospital in hopes of finally getting justice for the death and the subsequent cover up by getting your revenge on the doctor that killed her…Talk about dark! Love is definitely a subplot in this title, this MC is ruthless…she does everything for the sake of revenge, and I love it! This was such a new and unique premise, and Voltage has yet to come close to anything like this since. There is currently a SALE going on in the App so if you haven’t had the chance to play this game, now is the time! Voltage has brought this game back from the dead with new stories, and maybe a new character too!

Number 3: Love Letter From Thief X

Android| IOS

This is one of those Voltage classics that managed to stand the test of time! Love Letter follow a museum curator who get swept up with a band of mysterious art thieves, the Black Foxes. I love this game to bits, there is not one bad apple in this bunch, not one! All of the characters are likable, though Takuto is my favorite. This game is a nice mix of campy, cheesy comedy, romance, mystery and drama. The pacing is great a nice blend of highs and lows, without seeming too over the top. This is by far one of my all time favorite otome games, and I highly recommend it!

Number 2: Astoria Fates Kiss

This title is the biggest surprise on the list, I did not expect to like this game as much as I did! In the past Voltage’s USA branch has spit out dud after dud (Speakeasy Tonight aside), but when they decided to re-brand Voltage USA as AmeMix…it was like the heavens opened up and the harps started playing! This game fixed everything we hated about the previous Voltage USA games, hell they even fixed the things we had issues with in the main line of Voltage games! We get a strong MC, POC, and a female selectable characters.In this game you play as a field agent at the Hell and Earth Relations Agency (H.E.R.A) an MIB like organization that deals with Greek gods and monsters. I love Greek myth and this game does a great job at blending modern New York with the supernatural goings on of the Greek pantheon! Number 1: Star Crossed Myth

This was actually a hard choice, the number two title really came close to being number one…but, Star Crossed Myth beat it out, just barely though. I love this game, the only thing I like more than Greek myth is astrology! You play as a planetarium worker who has a chance encounter with six (more are added later) banished gods based on astrological constellations. The gods have sought you out, because you are a reincarnated goddess and the only person who can absolve them of their sins so that they can return to the heavens. This game is amazing, the characters actually go through a realistic and natural development. The plot has great pacing overall and the relationship between the MC and her chosen beau is well written, none of that love at first sight business. There are two main conflicts to each route, the first being each gods’ sin and the second being the romance between god and human. i highly recommend this game, definitely one of Voltage Inc’s best!
