Hello fellow Heroes and Travelers, here we are at the end of another week! I know I said this is my Summer Blog Plans post, but I have two exciting announcements this week! The first being that I finally heard back from a job! So, I’m officially employed for the summer!!! But on the flip side, I’m still looking for a permanent position…so yeah…

The second piece of news is that I’m gonna be the assistant editor over at Ice Gauntlet, so,yay! My little brother graduated on Saturday so I went home for a few days for that. Got to hang out with my little brothers and the rest of my family over the Memorial Day Weekend!

Fangirl Moment: Blue Morning

TGIF! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! This week I’m doing something for all of my BL/Yaoi Fangirls out there…Today I’m going to cover the yaoi manga, Blue Morning. This post will be SAFE FOR WORK…There will be absolutely NO NSFW images in this post, so rejoice (or curse my name), this post can be read in public without consequence!

I’ve said this before, but it is extremely rare that I pick up an ongoing series. They are just more trouble than they’re worth, and I end up forgetting about them anyway due to huge gaps between updates. In order for me to even think about picking up an ongoing series, the plot has to be on point, something that I won’t easily forget between releases… But the true test of an ongoing series is whether or not I will also spend money on it! I don’t throw my money around lightly, so I certainly won’t bother buying a manga series until it’s complete…  I have been burned one too many times in the past (looking at you Tokyopop), so I am extremely picky about which manga series I buy. So for me to not just read an ongoing series, but go so far as to purchase it as well, says a great deal about my opinion of the series…. I have made that exception only four times to date, and Blue Morning was one of them!

The Cyborg Executive Who Stole My Heart: My Wedding and the 7 Rings-Seiichirou Hayami

Sorry, it’s taken me awhile, but this character was chosen by you guys about four weeks ago during that week’s poll. Well I saw the votes and I’m not one to disappoint, so here’s my review of Seiichirou Hayami’s route in My Wedding and the 7 Rings!

I didn’t know what to expect from this route going in, because not much is known about Sei at this point in the game. In the other routes, he is merely the facilitator of the late CEOs will, and the man in charge of the Marriage Program. He mostly takes on an advisory role, assisting the MC as she completes the program, though he has been known to create minor obstacles for the MC and her chosen fiance as well. Despite his role in the marriage game, very little is known about Sei. At work he is one of the top executives of the Sanno Corporation, having worked under the former CEO, his skills are second to none. But, his emotionless disposition has lead to him being referred to as a cyborg among his peers.

From Consciousness to Reality: DRAMAtical Murder-Ren Review & Final Thoughts on DRAMAtical Murder

First, I can’t believe that I’m finally done with this game! DRAMAtical Murder was the first game I reviewed on this blog and it has taken me nine whole months to get through it all. This is a huge achievement for me, I usually play one route and never touch the game again. I have game commitment issues lol…. So, unlike the other reviews I plan on keeping this as short as possible, so I can fit in my overall final thoughts on the game at the end, besides I pretty much got all my ranting out in the Tumblr live blog. I will try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but this is the True canon route of the game, so that might be easier said than done. So without further ado, the last DMMd route, here’s Ren!

From Machine to Man: DRAMAtical Murder- Clear Review

I was feeling pretty low after finishing Mink’s route, in fact, I completely lost all desire to even finish this game at all….but after taking a few days away from DMMd, I gained some of my fighting spirit back. So, after seeing Clear’s antics in the common route, I was expecting this to be one of the more light-hearted routes of the game (which I seriously needed after finishing Mink’s route). Clear is the most upbeat of the available love interests, and his route is full of hilariously over the top moments. I think I laughed myself silly during the first half of the route, but suddenly without me noticing, Clear’s route did a complete 180. There is so much more to Clear than meets the eye, and I never expected this route to be the most emotional and heart-wrenching route of the game.

Clear is a mysterious character, as you can see from his above character profile, very little is known about him at the beginning of the game. He is a very energetic and friendly, but his odd mannerisms often confuse those around him. He’s like a cute puppy following the others around as they plan their assault on Toue.

**Disclaimer: I don’t own these images, they belong to Nitro+chiral…and this goes without saying, but there will be minor SPOILERS under the cut… Also, there is a NSFW image in this post (it’s rather tame by BL standards, though) you have been warned*

I have been sending out job applications like crazy and I finally heard back from one! I had the interview on Friday and I should hear back on Monday, so I’ll be playing the waiting game until then… My prospects look good for the job, but we’ll see….finger’s crossed!

But, that means that I’ll be in Georgia for this weekend… *fidgets* …so I won’t be able to get the May 22nd to May 28th Last Week Today Post out to you guys on Sunday May 29th as planned…I should be able to get it out to you guys on Monday May 30th instead though… Just a heads up!

Fangirl Moment: The Lord of the Rings-Fellowship of the Ring

TGIF! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! This week I’m not covering any of my usual topics, this time I decided change it up by covering a book that I just recently finished reading.

So today’s post will cover the first “book” in J.R.R Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings saga, The Fellowship of the Ring. Originally released in between 1954 and 1955, Lord of the Rings, was supposed to be published as one complete work. However, the publisher decided to split the work into three separate volumes: Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King. The central conflict of the story revolves around the One Ring, which was created by the Dark Lord Sauron to assist him in his efforts to enslave all of Middle Earth. However, before his plan could be fully realized, the ring became lost and peace descended upon Middle Earth. After some years had passed, the ring was found by the most unlikely of heroes, setting in motion an events that would dictate the future of Middle Earth.

The Silent Butler Who Stole My Heart: Butler Until Midnight- Kyo Aizawa

My writer’s block is finally over!!! Yes, now I can finally get down to business, and defeat the Huns I mean finally bang out some more reviews…I finally had time for another Voltage route and this time it’s one that you all voted on!! It’s taken me awhile, but this character was chosen by you guys about four weeks ago during that week’s poll. Well I listened, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with this choice, give yourselves a pat on the back this was and excellent route.

Kyo InfoCard.PNGI have been wanting to play this route for some time now, yet I never could find the time to. Ever since I saw his blank, expressionless face in the prologue, I knew that I just had to play his route and learn the reason behind it. The title of  cool loner does not do him justice, there is so much emotion beneath his blank stare if you only take the time to look.

**Disclaimer: I DO NOT own any of the images used in this review, ALL images, screenshots, and characters belong to Voltage Inc. Please if you are interested in the game, download the game for free in the App Store or from Google Play and purchase the stories when they are available in your area.**

[Full Game Review] English Otome-Seduce Me

This is one of those games that I absolutely enjoyed playing, but never really got around to writing a review for…So, now that I have some free time and in honor of the sequel coming out on May 20th on Steam, (I got the game from, so I have to wait until June 20th) I decided to go back and play the game that started it all! So whether you’ve already played this game and are in need of a refresher before Seduce Me 2 is released, or someone new to the game, you’ve definitely come to the right place!

Released in 2015, Seduce Me is a fully voiced PC English visual novel, produced by Seraphim Entertainment and created by Michaela Laws.  First, I can’t tell you how awesome and rare it is for a FREE indie English otome game like Seduce Me to have a full voice cast…and for said voice cast to be good too! It’s like winning the lotto right after you lose your job, not necessarily impossible, but unlikely as hell! So big props to Seraphim and Michaela for pulling this off with the help of their backers on Kickstarter, some out of pocket money, and a whole helluva lot of determination!

Top 5 Best Voltage Games

Voltage Inc has certainly come up with so many amazing games, these are the cream of the crop the games I could play over and over again without getting bored. This is part two of a suggested post series, for the first part go, HERE. So this was a hard list to come up with, I enjoy different aspects of each and every Voltage Inc game for different reasons. These games are on here because of my feelings about the entire game, and in no way a reflection of the individual characters in the game.

control your emotions

Before you all start grabbing your torches and pitchforks, this list is purely my opinion…You are more than welcome to agree or disagree with me if you want, by all means leave a comment and suggest better voltage games. So without further ado here we go: My Top 5 “Best” Voltage Inc Games.

Last Week Today: Week End Recap-May 8th to May 14th

So, the countdown is over… On Thursday at 11:30AM (EST) I officially graduated from my University! I have officially completed my master’s program… Just in case anyone is curious, my full degree title is: Master of Science in Global Health… So now I’m hotter by two degrees! (I’m sorry, it was a bad joke… 😛 )

harry potter grad

The ceremony was fun, but extremely long and tiring. I had to get up super early to drive all the way to my University which is about an hour away (hour and a half on the train), only to have to wait outside until it was time for us to do the processional thingy. The waiting wasn’t so bad, I took a ton of pictures and chatted with my classmates about all the stuff we planned on doing after graduation. Mostly we complained about the robes we had to wear lol, for your Masters, the robes come with weird hooked sleeves… Oh and my cap wouldn’t stay on straight, but it looked cooler that way. My folks drove up from Georgia for the ceremony, so when I walked into the auditorium, they started shouting my name, which was reassuring…. The whole thing is kind of a blur, it seemed really long while I was waiting for everything to start…But, now that I think about it, everything seemed to happen so fast. I guess that’s just how these things go…

Fangirl Moment: Mirai Sentai Timeranger

TGIF and Happy Friday the 13th! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! This week I’m doing something that’s one part childhood nostalgia and one part full blown otaku… The Super Sentai Series!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Super Sentai series,  here’s a brief overview… Super Sentai is the name of a long running Japanese superhero themed television series, following the exploits of the Super Sentai who protect the balance between good and evil. Teams members typically wear different colored suits and have a corresponding theme tied to their powers. Teams usually consists of five members, but there have been smaller teams. The Super Sentai use an arsenal of weapons to take down baddies, but what they are most known for are their giant Mecha, which they use to battle enemies, usually during their final showdowns! Oh yeah…and did I mention that the Super Sentai series is the inspiration for the Power Rangers? No, maybe I should have started off with that… Currently there are 40 different Super Sentai shows.

My Top 10 Favorite Generation Two Pokemon

So Johto is where I started my Pokemon Journey, so this is the generation nearest and dearest to my heart. This is where my love of Pokemon began, and this was probably the hardest list to write for me. So, since today is the day of my graduation, I thought it only fitting to put out this list today! Kind of a Throwback Thursday post!

Generation two introduced us a brand new region to discover and 100 new Pokemon love. It was originally planned as the ending of the Pokemon series…Anyone who has battled Red on top of Mt. Silver, knows just how epic that ending would have been… Each of these amazing Pokemon has a special place in heart!

From Bondage to Freedom: DRAMAtical Murder- Mink Review

I was not looking forward to this route, in fact I was planning on skipping Mink’s route all together. But, in order to unlock Ren’s route, I had to complete the Good Ending for Koujaku, Noiz, Clear and Mink… So, I had no choice but to suffer through it. Mink is perhaps my least favorite route of the game, even before I played it, I wasn’t very interested in Mink as a “love interest”. Even now after playing through his entire story, I’m still not a fan.

2016-05-04 (85)

Mink is the leader of the prison Rhyme team Scratch, and to be honest that’s all that anyone really knows about him. He shares little with his fellow team members, and has a tendency to speak with his fists. But, beneath his stoic exterior lies a complex character whose emotions run much deeper than anyone around him could ever imagine. I was surprised by this route, I definitely got to see a different side of Mink than I expected.

**Disclaimer: I don’t own these images, they belong to Nitro+chiral…and this goes without saying, but there will be minor SPOILERS under the cut… For your sanity and my own, there will be none of the rapey or especially violent CGs in this post…You’re welcome!*

PokeNews: Special Pokemon Moon and Sun Announcement

Five minutes before: Today at 8AM, Nintendo is making an announcement concerning the seventh generation of Pokemon games, Pokemon Moon and Sun!!! I wonder what the announcement is going to be about. Since the Nintendo Direct reveal back in February, there have been a ton of leaks and theories surrounding the next generation of games. This will be the first official announcement put out by Nintendo! I wonder what the announcement will be about!

So the big announcement was the trailer for the game, which finally revealed the three starters for the game!

Which so far look interesting, I’m especially interested in Litten, but a grass owl is a very interesting choice so, I also have my eye on Rowlet! I’m really curious to see their evolved forms though!

From Pain to Pleasure: DRAMAtical Murder- Noiz Review

It has really been a long time since I last picked up this game. DRAMAtical Murder and the Koujaku reviews were my first ever reviews on this blog, and here I am almost seven months later writing another one. Boy has the time flown by…my only hope is that I’ve improved some since those first reviews (at least I think I have). I have since written an updated review of DRAMAtical Murder, which can be found, HERE. After muddling through Koujaku’s route, I set my sights on Noiz… But, I was so overwhelmed by how dull Koujaku’s route was that I put DMMd on the back burner until I could forget about it. Well it took seven months, and here I am finally ready to give DMMd another shot!

Noiz chara card.png

I did not expect to love this route as much as I did, but oh boy did I ever! Noiz is hands down my favorite route of the game! Noiz is the creep who drive by Rhymes Aoba in the common route. At first his blunt attitude rubbed me the wrong way, but the more I played, the more I began to like this socially awkward bunny!

**Disclaimer: I don’t own these images, they belong to Nitro+chiral…and this goes without saying, but there will be some character related spoilers under the cut and one or two NSFW images in this post (censored) you have been warned**

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- May 1st to May 7th

So now that I’m done with school the real work begins…yep… JOB HUNTING… The single most soul crushing experience I’ve ever had to subject myself to. No really, if you do it right it’ll have you feeling like you’ve completely wasted your entire life on meaningless things… All the jobs I’ve applied for thus far either require experience that can only be obtained by working said job or it’s a job specifically for recent grads but they require 20 years of experience. Mind you I’m 25, so in order for that to happen, I’d have had to have started working when I was 5, maybe 4 1/2, if you’re a real go-getter… Ugh just give me the job already…

servant x service

In other, slightly less depressing news, my graduation is on May 12th! Yay! My family is coming into town for the event and a few friends will swing by to watch me strut across the stage too! So just a few days and a few steps stand between me and my diploma! I can’t wait do be done with school…at least for a little while anyway. 🙂

I also saw Captain America Civil War on Thursday, it was awesome! I finally feel like we got a perfect depiction of Spider-Man! See, proof that not every superhero needs his/her own stand alone movie, look at Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk…he was a SMASH! (I’m sorry, I promise I won’t do that again…)

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West Game Review

A thief crosses a dark room, his prize a lone safe…A mysterious woman wearing a hat and sunglasses leaves a soon to be demolished apartment building…A man with no job returns to the only place he calls home…and a letter about long ago secrets.

So much has changed since that fateful trip to Hotel Dusk, a year ago. For Kyle Hyde the past never seems to stay in the past. The past and the present collide as the secrets of Cape West hit close to home for our former gumshoe turned salesman.

last window cape west.png

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West is a 2010 Nintendo DS single-player adventure visual novel and the final game produced by the now defunct company, Cing. Because of Cing filing bankruptcy, the game was not released for the North American market. Like its predecessor, Hotel Dusk, Last Window is played by holding the DS system sideways like a book.

Fangirl Moment: Banana Fish

TGIF! Here we are again with another Fangirl Friday! This week I’m reviewing a genre fluid manga…technically it’s a shojo manga, but you wouldn’t think it to read it. This manga has everything, gang battles, political deals, mysterious drugs, romance (?), drama, angst, tragedy, and to tie it all up, subtle (like really subtle) BL undertones. The manga I’m about to cover is my favorite series of all time. No matter how much time passes, and no matter how many manga I read, nothing has even come close to it! The series is licensed in English by Viz, but it is currently out of print! I have searched conventions, old book stores and online…and I still don’t have the whole series yet….soon though!

Banana Fish, a 19 volume classic manga series by Akimi Yoshida, was released between 1985 and 1994. The series was immensely popular in Japan, spawning three spin-off stories: Private Opinion, Angel Eyes, and The Garden with Holy Light. The musician, Gackt loved this manga so much that he wrote a song about it entitled Asrun (Aslan) Dream (it’s really good too)! This manga really took me by surprise, the artwork while rough at first really grew on me, and the plot…wow…this is not your typical shojo manga, it transcends genre labels! While this post will be Safe for Work, I do need to clarify that this manga does have some content that may not be suitable for some readers. However, none of said content takes away from the plot in any way, in fact it only enhances it!

Trigger warnings: child prostitution, rape/forced sexual situations, coarse language, death

Hotel Dusk: Room 215- Game Review

A man with a past he wishes he could forget…A room with secrets creeping out from every corner…and a girl  who wakes from a coma walks towards a limitless future…Long nights that blend into even longer days for a former detective turned door to door salesman.

When a routine job leads him to an out of the way hotel, Kyle Hyde is dragged into a long since buried secret that threatens to bring past sins into the present. He must weed out the lies and uncover a truth that certain people want to keep buried.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 released in Japan as Wish Room: Angel’s Memory is a 2007 Nintendo DS single-player adventure visual novel developed by the creators of Another Code: Two Memories (aka Trace Memories in NA) and now defunct company, Cing. It was released as part of the Touch Generation of DS games, which were geared towards attracting non traditional gamers.  Unlike typical DS and 3DS games, Hotel Dusk is played by holding the DS system sideways like a book.

The Guy I Like is a Cancer: Starry Sky in Spring- Suzuya Review

So of all the love interests in this game, Suzuya was the one that I was looking forward to the least. And after my lukewarm feelings about Kanata and Yoh, I wasn’t really expecting much. Suzuya is the most mature guy in the group and designated Mama Hen. While the others are bickering like children, he’s the one who acts as mediator.

2016-04-26 (12)

Unlike, Yoh and Kanata, who wear their hearts on their sleeves, Suzuya’s true thoughts and feelings are often shrouded in mystery. He was definitely my surprise favorite of the game.

PokeNews: Legendary Bird Trio Distribution

Hey Pokemon Trainers! I don’t know what is going on with Nintendo and the Pokemon Company this month, but I hope they keep it up! I’m back again to tell you about another, Legendary distribution! This time, they are giving us the Legendary Bird Trio from Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow. But, if I know you guys, you’re probably saying, “I already have those guys, I don’t need them again.” Well to that I say, Hidden Abilities! That’s right this time around, each of the Legendary Birds come with their Hidden Abilities!

The Guy I Like is a Pisces: Starry Sky in Spring- Kanata Review

So, for my second route of the game I chose to pursue Kanata, he was probably the character I was looking forward to the most. I love tsundere characters, I find their hot/cold personalities cute, they are my otoge bias. Kanata was everything you’d expect from a tsundere, it’s obvious that he is in love with Tsukiko, but he keeps his feelings hidden…though to be honest, the only person really fooled by his act is Tsukiko.

2016-04-24 (21)

I definitely enjoyed Kanata’s route more than I did Yoh’s, maybe its because I felt bad for the guy. He’s been in love with the same girl for years, but she is too oblivious to notice! Then when she does acknowledge his feelings, she does her best to deny them, friend zoning him in the process.

Disclaimer: I don’t own these images, they belong to Honeybee, while the patch translation was provided by OGE…and this goes without saying, but there will be SPOILERS under the cut…

PokeNews: Special Zygarde Mystery Gift Distribution

This event is expired, but feel free to read this post anyway! Stay tuned for more Pokemon related posts in the future! Don’t forget to check back on the first of each month for information about the newest Pokemon 2016 Legendary Distribution Event Pokemon!

Hey Pokemon Trainers! I have a Special Pokemon Announcement just for you! For a limited time only you can get the Legendary Pokemon Zygarde through the Mystery Gift function in Pokemon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon X, and Y! The Pokemon Company really snuck this one under the radar, a few days ago as there have been no announcements about it from them to date. However it is speculated to be in connection with the recent appearance of Zygarde in the Pokemon anime!

This is a hard to find Pokemon! You’ll be the envy of your friends with this Zygarde.

Zygarde, the Order Pokemon, is a dragon/ground type first introduced in Pokemon X and Y. Trainers can catch this Pokemon in-game from deep within the Terminus Cave on Route 18 after entering the Hall of Fame, in either X or Y. Zygarde is said to monitor the conditions of the Kalos ecosystem from deep within the cave where it lives. If it senses an imbalance, Zygarde will appear and correct it by activating it’s secret power. Zygarde has three distinct forms: the 50% forme, 10% forme, and Complete forme. Zygarde is the only known Pokémon that can learn Land’s Wrath.

The Guy I Like is a Capricorn: Starry Sky in Spring- Yoh Review

A lot has changed since my first playthrough of Starry Sky in Spring back in 2013. Not only am I older, but my opinion of high school romance otoge has changed considerably. I’ve grown disillusioned with the cutesy, sugary sweet romance premise that tends to plague otoges with high school settings. So, you can imagine that this was a slow go for me…a really slow go.

2016-04-24 (18).png

Like the first time I played the game, I chose Yoh Tomoe as the first love interest, because he was the character that left the biggest impression on me. Again, let me stress that my opinion has changed significantly since the first time that I played this game. While I liked the game overall, I feel like the individual routes were predictable and full of fluff moments. I enjoyed Yoh’s characterization in the game, but there were a few moments when I found myself rolling my eyes at the lets be friends forever theme.

PokeNews: Darkrai Distribution

This distribution event is over, but feel free to read this post anyway! If you still have yet to enter your serial numbers into your games, you have until August 31, 2016 to do so. After this date the serial code will be void! Also check the bottom of the post for information about future Pokemon 20 Legendary Distribution Events! Check back on the first of each month for information about the newest Pokemon 2016 Legendary Distribution Event Pokemon!

Here we are again with another PokeNews report! We are now four months into the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Legendary Pokemon Release Event! We’ve seen a host of Pokemon announcements and goodies from Nintendo since February, from the announcement of Moon and Sun to the release of digital release of the original Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow! We’ve got three legendary Pokemon under our belts already, but it’s time to spring forward and into the Fourth Generation of Pokemon games, with May’s Darkrai release!

Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Pokemon, is a dark type introduced in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Darkrai is part of the Lunar Duo with fellow fourth Gen Legendary, Cresselia.  It is known to inhabit dreams, causing its victims to experience never ending nightmares. But, Darkrai isn’t all bad, the nightmares it causes are only created as a means of protecting itself. However, the nightmares caused by Darkrai can only be expelled by Cresselia and the Lunar Wing. It’s signature ability Bad Dream, which saps the HP of any sleeping pokemon, makes Darkrai a formidable opponent in any battle. Like the others before it Darkrai had its own movie, Rise of Darkrai.

Darkrai was released back in 2009, through a special item distribution event. During the event, players would receive the key item Member Card in Platinum through the Mystery Gift feature. The Member Card would then allow players to access the harbor in Canalave City and ride a ferry to Newmoon Island. Once there the player will encounter a booming voice and black out, once awake Darkrai will be added to your party. There was also a second event, where you could transfer over Darkrai from Pokemon Ranger:Shadows of Almia. So if you missed your chance to get Darkrai from one of the earlier events, now is your chance.

Last Week Today: Week End Recap- Apr.24th to Apr. 30th

I’m done…I’m finally done with graduate school… My last day of class was Wednesday, and there is just one open book, online final standing between me and my diploma! I don’t know whether I should celebrate, collapse in a heap and hibernate for a few weeks, or stare numbly at the wall in disbelief… But, I am done! This has been one of the most rewarding and frustrating experiences of my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world! I really can’t wait to get my diploma and start the next phase of my life!!! So how are you guys dealing with finals? Anyone else graduating? Or do you have a long way to go?

Get it, I’m free and this is a Free gif…

Okay, so do you guys remember my Big Graduation Project? Well if you don’t here’s a refresher… Since January, I have been working on a huge research paper looking at injury rates among adolescents…This paper has been a pain in the ass, but we are finally done with it! So why is this important? Well we (my group and I) just submitted our paper for publication in a scientific journal… and guess who’s the first author… it’s Me! So this is both a gift and a curse. Being first author comes with some nifty perks (bragging rights mostly), but I’m also the one responsible for fixing all the problems that the journal might find with the paper during review…So more work! Yay!
