A little over a year ago, Voltage released the English language version of My Wedding and the 7 Rings a spin-off of the extremely popular, My Forged Wedding. The new game takes place in the same universe as the MFW series. And even features two of the love interests from the previous game, with a slightly modified back story.
Because Voltage is putting out new games and stories faster than I can play them all, my backlog is extremely long right now. Of course, every time I tackle a game Voltage puts out another one. So, finding the time to play them all has been hard to do. Thankfully, I did manage to find the time to play through My Wedding and the 7 Rings.

Characters
- Asahi Kakyouin is head of the Lifestyle Product Group. He is the typical pushy, arrogant type. He thinks he’s God’s greatest gift to women.
- Yamato Kougami is the head of the Education Services Group. Yamato is one of the crossover love interests from My Forged Wedding. Although his backstory is changed to fit the new setting. In this game he is a high school friend of the MC. The MC used to have a crush on him.
- Junta Nikaido is the head of the New Business Group. He is the youngest of the Seven Beasts, and has a reputation for using shady business practices to get ahead. He is courteous and gentlemanly on the surface, but manipulative.
- Hiroto Chitose is the head of the Finance Group. He is a huge flirt, and is quick to use sweet words to gain the favor of women. However, he is really a sweet and considerate guy under it all.
- Ren Shibasaki is the head of the Pharmaceuticals Group. He, Yamato, and the MC are old high school buddies. Ren has been in love with the MC for 10 years. He is much the same character he was in My Forged Wedding, quiet, but sweet.
- Kai Fujisawa is head of the IT Solutions Group. He is cold and detached, and not really much of a people person. He is content with having a loveless marriage with the MC, if it means he can advance further within the company.
- Seiichirou Hayami was the right hand man of the former CEO and current acting CEO. He is charge of the marriage game.
My Wedding and the 7 Rings Review
Fake Marriage meets Office Romance
At the start of the game you (name changeable) are just a regular office lady at Sanno Corporation, a huge Japanese conglomerate company. That is until the CEO of the company passes away suddenly, causing a succession crisis. An assembly is held that day and seven of the company’s top executives are called to the stage and given new titles within the company as Special Executives. To your surprise, you are called to the stage as well and given an award, which comes with a cash reward, recognizing your hard work within the company. You are immediately asked to sign some forms in order to receive to receive the cash reward. The assembly ends with Seiichirou, the former CEO’s right hand man, announcing that he will be acting as temporary CEO of the company.
Later that day you are called to the CEO’s office under the guise of receiving your cash prize. However, when you get there Seiichirou reveals that you are the granddaughter of the late CEO and new owner of the company. But in order to claim her inheritance she must marry one of the Special Executives. Seiichirou then demands that you pick a partner from the gathered men.
A Solid Group of Romanceable Characters
So I have a favorite and it’s Kai. I guess I have a thing for the cold, detached types, especially when they have a change of heart and become more passionate and sweet. His story definitely left a big impression on me, and I highly recommend it!
Overall, the game is a solid addition to the Voltage line up. The characters are interesting, and I like how Voltage carried over the fake marriage concept from My Forged Wedding, while still managing to put a unique spin on it. Now, I will say that I was a little disappointed with Yamato and Ren (the two characters brought over from My Forged Wedding).
Aside from a few minor changes to their backstories, there wasn’t much in the way of character upgrades from the parent game. I’m not saying that they were all bad, they definitely had their good points in the game, I guess I was expecting more than what I got. Of the two, Ren got the better end of the deal in My Wedding and the 7 Rings. But, if you were a fan of both Ren and Yamato in My Forged Wedding, you will be happy with their characterization in My Wedding and the 7 Rings.
No Pesky Bad Endings to Worry About
The music is nice and blends well with the mood of the game. Some of the soundtracks from My Forged Wedding make an appearance in this new game, and it blends well with the new track that were added. The game play is similar to the other Voltage games. Like many of their newer games, there is a meter that lets the player know which ending they are headed towards: Super Happy Ending and Happy Ending. The Super Happy Ending is the best ending and is typically the most romantic of the two. In addition to the endings, the player can also unlock five secret stories, in the main story by answering certain choice correctly. These secret stories allow you to see a different side of the chosen love interest.
I really like this game, and I strongly encourage fans of Voltage to give it a shot play it, if they haven’t already.
I tried this game and I went for Ren first cuz I adore him in MFW, and I still do! But the HUGE HUUUUGE dissapointment for me was the MC in his route..cuz she obviously still has a crush on Yamato and that was the big focus in Ren his route, it made me want to throw my phone out of the window xD I couldn’t enjoy the endings at all :’) My poor Ren ;-;
I heard that from just about everyone who played that route…so I went for the nonMFW guys first…
I’m going to play Kai’s route next..ahh can’t wait *O*

Kai and Seiichirou were definitely my favorites. .< WHO WOULD DO THAT? It was frustrating.
I felt kinda the same way for Hiroto's story because I thought he'd be a lot like Kyoga from Enchanted in the Moonlight as the older sex fiend/overly snuggly in order to get intimate kind of type, but it didn't work out that way. (Liked Kyoga almost as much as Chikage because of his overly familiar sniffing and it made me snicker a lot) I think poor Hiroto had the worst story line out of all the guys (other than maybe Junta? He's the only guy I didn't get the main story for and I didn't buy Ota from "Kissed by the Baddest Bidder" either because they are that manipulative younger guy type and I don't get the appeal? Maybe because I'm so old IRL? I don't know)
It's a great way to spend time, though. I really enjoyed all this game had to offer.

Kai and Seiichirou were definitely my favorites. I felt like the MC and the romance there was most compelling in those two routes, in very different ways. Kai’s was definitely the most engaging by FAR, and the MC “giving herself to him” at that one point , and him beating himself over it so much was an interesting choice. It didn’t feel weird and rape-y, which I really liked.
I feel like Seii’s story would be a little closer to realism, like if I were put in that situation because it’s so adorably awkward. XD “Nope. I’m just gonna go hang out with the impartial judge guy who isn’t trying to get in my pants… oh, look… now I want to get in HIS pants. Awesome. Yay for me. -_-‘) and it made me giggle out loud in public a few times because of the MC’s reactions to him.
I really WANTED to love Ren’s story because I thought the concept of the MC basically being his human plushie would be adorable, but it fell flat for me, sadly. I just wanted to smack the MC around for being so hung up on Yamato but choosing Ren for safety. >.< WHO WOULD DO THAT? It was frustrating.

I’m not a huge fan of the older/mature character types, but I agree with you about the manipulative younger guys.

I just installed this game and I played hiroto. Not bad for me. But I can’t decide to go which one next. Everyone here we’re talking about Kai. I’m wondering how about Asahi?
